I left out the coconut, made a bigger wet portion, added ground flaxseed instead of bran, and added ¾ cup of dried fruit. came out amazing. I also used olive oil instead of butter.
I'm a empty nester this year...i wished we had tried this when i was younger when the kids were little together...that was sweet you had your grandpa be the tester...i hope my kids will do that...i will try your granolas... I have more time now, so i'm trying different things and mailing them off to the kids away in college or when they come home...they love it...thx for sharing sweetie.
I made them and they are amazing... i followed the recipe and added walnuts cranberries papaya sesam and other leftover seeds i had. OMG so crunchy and full of taste!!! I finally found the best granola bar recipe! thank you!
Excellent video. They look very tasty and healthy. Grandpa's eyes showed he enjoyed them. Bet they are much cheaper to make than to buy the commercially made ones.
Have just trawled YT looking for a straightforward but great looking/(hopefully) tasting granola bar recipe. I think this is definitely it! They look fab!! Neat trick to flatten mixture too.
Homemade granola Bars Dry: 2 Cups Oats, Old Fashion ½ Cup Shredded Coconut ½ Cup sliced Almonds ½ Cup Wheat bran Bake 350 degrees for 10 minutes Wet: 3 Tablespoons Butter ½ Cup Honey ¼ Cup Brown Sugar 3/2 Teaspoons Vanilla Pinch of Salt Mix in sauce pan over low Heat Combine everything. ¼ Cup Apricots ¼ Cup Prunes Butter Baking Pan with parchment paper on bottom Bake 300 degrees for 20 Minutes
Thank you so much for posting this : ) i have some adjustments to make to perfect them but you have shown me the path to making a home made portable healthy snack. I had an idea on how to make these tasty treats but was unsure on how to make them right.
I made some, and I put a little more stuff in (with the same amount of liquid) and I also forgot halfway for how long to bake, so I took them out after 12 minutes at 350 degrees, weren't cooked at all, lol. So now they're in again, after having cooled (before I realized my mistake), and I'm excited to see if they'll be better now. After 12 minutes the "granola sheet" was crumbly, and I'm foreseeing it'll still be like that after 10 more minutes. My solution is to let the whole thing cool, like you did, and then melt a bunch of dark chocolate and pour it all over the top so that it will coat what will end up as the bottom, as well as seeping into the actual granola, so that it might stick a bit better when it's cold. I hope it works!
Nice recipe, I like this one, I'll try it soon. I think I'll melt down some chocolate bits and drizzle it over the top after the granola cools down but before cutting the bars out.
I tried this recipe today and honestly everyone's in love with granola bars. I am actually surprised because my brothers are like anti oats or something.
This is just superb, I have been researching "is hummus paleo friendly" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Diyarter Benaylee Cure - (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my work buddy got excellent results with it.
