      No HUD, no mood lighting, no Matrix LEDs, no significant refresh since 2012, almost exactly the same interior, poor rear end. Now look I want a Model S but I'm being honest about what it doesn't have. I really do want one.

      @@JohnnyZenith Haha You sound conflicted. Agreed though. The software only goes so far. Tesla could certainly add more luxury features to the car.

    OG EV - The Model S will be in a museum someday as the vehicle that revolutionized the modern vehicle.

    That was March. Now in July there is the Cheetah mode upgrade which increased performance even more and the range is now over 400 miles! Where's the Taycan? In the rearview mirror with their superior panel gaps.

      @ridexdrive  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      lol OK. You really, really, really love Tesla, don't you? And you really, really, really hate anyone who says something about them you don't like. I'd still take an Audi RS or AMG over either a Model S or Taycan.

    When driving my 2001 911 turbo, the excitement is due to the waiting for the gear to change, the turbo to spool, the noise and an eventual increase in speed. Driving my Model S P90D, the excitement is short lived; - just step on the pedal and be rocketed to your desired speed. I trade the excitement for the feel of confidence the Tesla provides.

    • @dzerres
      @dzerres 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      excitement = noise, in my book. As for "short lived" ... seriously? The acceleration NEVER gets old. There are two phrases associated with owning a Tesla: 1. "it never gets old", 2. "the Tesla smile". No other car has as high a customer satisfaction as a Tesla. Not Porsche, not Mercedes, not Toyota.

      The old dial-up internet was better, it had "soul" you could hear the tones before you hit the web. The anticipation of a website to load was glorious. I'll never switch to this ne high speed internet, sure its faster and more efficient but there's no "soul" no "feeling"..

    I am thinking about this or something like an audi a7 because the tesla is about the same price in australia but i’m worried if it’s TOO fast as i don’t want to end up crashing etc. are there modes that limit the power so that it’s more smooth and liveable?

    • @ridexdrive
      @ridexdrive  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      VoltBolt Games Absolutely. If you go to 9:13 in the video and pause, you will notice under acceleration mode there is an option for “Chill”. It greatly reduces power and relaxes everything. Also, just like any other fast car, your right foot is the best way to control the speed. Lol. Drive it in a relaxed way and it will be relaxed. The power is there only if you need it.

      @@ridexdrive thank you for telling me this, i was just wondering because sometimes i do like my speed (used to have a rs7 2014) and having the option to make the car feel like a normal lux sedan made me love that car worlds more. That said i am really having a hard time deciding between this tesla model s performance or something like the new bmw m550i x drive which has 530hp, the tesla looks like a much better value proposition for the tech and specs but its almost 30k aud more (140k vs 170k in australia). That said i am going to test drive both cars next week, wish me luck XD!

    I previously (amongst others) had an Alfa Romeo - and I have to say that I'm getting just as much 'driving pleasure' from my Tesla Modello' S Performance - Its a diffrent kind of car-exitement, sure; here its just as much to have the leading tech' on the road and being amazed still today what it can.
    And ok, it FaasT like you dont have an idea, if you havent driven one.
    (I thought the 911' was fast, but the ''no wait'' acceleration of my Mod.S just beat even exotic sportscar by a hatfull).

    So if you were driving with full automation and you lose the cell phone service it runs on would it lose control?

    • @ridexdrive
      @ridexdrive  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From my understanding the system doesn’t require a cell service to work. Even if, it’s not going to go crazy and lose control if it loses connection. I’m sure it would just beep for the driver to take over. The system, like all systems, still require an attentive driver. Thanks for the comment!

    Every time I see the reviews and comparison, the supercharger network alone makes it no brainer to own a Tesla. And reviewer should point it out which you did not(or may be you do not have enough knowledge). This is what I want to hear .. With any other brand of EV you dont have confidence of Supercharger & destination charger reliability/cost/availability assurance. When you buy other ev you cant reliably take long trips without planning. Make sense? agree?disagree?

    • @ridexdrive
      @ridexdrive  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I did mention the supercharger network. I didn't talk about long trips, because I didn't take a long trip. Perhaps, it's hard to tell because you are communicating through text, but you seem pretty worked up about a Tesla review. Take a breath, it's not that serious. If that's not the case, then please ignore this reply.
      I don't claim to have copious amounts of knowledge about anything, let alone Teslas and I am always open to learning more. If you can't find any reviews saying what you want to hear, you should get a camera and a car and do your own reviews, then you can say whatever you want.
      I do agree that supercharging stations are very helpful, but with any EV, you have to plan out long trips because unlike gas stations, there aren't supercharging stations on every corner. As I mentioned in the video, there are only 2 supercharging stations within 50 miles of where I live. There are over 5 Gas Stations within 1 mile of where I live. Yes, Tesla's network is one of the best, if not the best, when it comes to EVs but you still can't simply get in the car and go on a long trip without some planning for charging. In gas powered cars you can go without worrying about where you will fill up or how long it will take.
      Do you own a Tesla? How often do you go on trips over 400 miles?
      Either way, thanks for watching (you did watch didn't you?) and thanks for the comment.
