- With a 2.5 second 0-60 time, this is the fastest accelerating car I've ever driven. This 2018 Tesla Model S P100D is also equipped with Autopilot with automated lane changes. I test it out, talk about how long this 315 mile battery lasts in the real world, and give my full driving impressions of the car as well.

I love Matt Maran. His reactions and everything is so genuine. I love this channel. 🙌
I love dis channel more
@@BobThe9534 😂 cool Bob
@Ray Be kind to others, it goes a long way lol
15:08 what you all came for
KA Lion 5443 lol always love seeing his reaction
"Let's turn onto this backroad here..."
That acceleration is insane! Clever license plate too.
It's jus cause it is electric
Matt is like a big kid in a big toybox of cars. Literally, my reaction when I drove an 85D and that was insane I can only imagine what a 100D feels like. Love the channel.
Loved to see the speedo on these cars as they accelerate
There are cupholders in the back under the aircondition.. ;)
15:12 😂
His acceleration reaction time is in the description
I've been waiting for you to review this car for 3 years and now I can see your awesome reaction
Indeed at 15:15 :)
I've been waiting since i first heard about this car
Same. That reaction was worth the wait.
It's been a long time coming for this review Matt. However, it was definitely worth the wait!! Thanks for another great review, cheers
I didn't want to wait dis long though
Yes been finally waiting for this review!

Matt, another excellent and enthusiastic report on a super cool car. I love just how subtle the Model S is, just clean and pretty timeless.
Excellent in depth review, one of my favorites yet!

@15:14 the look on his face is priceless🤣👍
Thank you good sir
The most underrated car reviewer on TH-cam! You deserve way more subscribers! Keep up the great work Matt!
Thanks Fraz!
Excelent Review, I want one of this
Same, except not 4 a road trip
Matt - the cup holders for the back seat are behind a panel under the rear usb ports in the center armrest for the front seat.
Ah okay, thanks for the correction!
I briefly glanced away as you did ludicrous mode. You caught me by surprise. That was cool.
I've been excited for this review since you announced it a couple months ago!

Great review Matt! Keep up the good work. 🙂
Course he'll keep it up
@@BobThe9534 Hello Mr. The. I've seen you comment on most of his videos. The encouragement is always nice to see. 🙂
Hi Matt. Nice vid. Liked b4 watching since i knew it was going to b good
Great video! Your reaction just made me want to get one of these bad boys one day
I love Matt!!!
My friend has the Model S with Ludicrous+ I think. When he was showing off the acceleration, I honestly wanted it to stop, it was too much for my stomach. I don't have much good to say about this company but the car is fast. Thanks Matt, your personality makes this channel great.
Thanks Mark!
There are cup holders in the back. Pop out from centre console near USB ports.
I just don't know if you can recreate that GT350R reaction.... 🥰 That one was E P I C
And the Corvette
Links and timestamps, Take your time 😂
@@integrafreak1 th-cam.com/video/Hsc9a3srRTU/w-d-xo.html and 06:58 . You're welcome.
Great acceleration!!
In terms of pure acceleration to 100mph, this car and the Model 3 Performance basically put every other 4-wheeled vehicle on the road out to pasture. While being 4-door sedans and carrying 4-6 people! Total game-changers. I wish I had the $ to buy one. But for pure enjoyment and involvement in the driving process, I'll still hang on to my gas-burning 2000 Honda Interceptor VRR800Fi. For now.
Was just checkin to see if you had ever tested the Plaid... all I could find was this...Amazed that with all the cars you have tested, the plaid slipped under ur radar!
I’d love to review one, but Tesla almost never does press cars, so I have to wait until an owner offers one.
Amazimg review men
there are two cup holders in the back under the vents wally!
This dude loves life.
I still have yet to ride in a Tesla. I even wanna see how immediate the acceleration is in this Tesla you reviewed in this video
Love the first reaction to the acceleration! Priceless.
I wonder though, could your opinion about the stereo be improved by the quieter cabin typical in electric cars? So a perfectly "adequate" sound system becomes a "great" one? 😁
True true
Press in the panel under the rear USB ports and 2 cup holders pop out.
Would love to see you test the plaid. 😬
Maran is so cool 😆🏎🚀
Waiting for an exhaust vid ... 😄... Love the acceleration. But I legit NEED To hear it. 🤷🏾♂️
Dose this have a CD player to and can u use internet on the center screen? Seen it had Netflix and Hulu u can only watch when not driving?
@Matt Maran Motoring the model s and model x plaids are super fast
I approve of the favorites choice of music at 6:27.
Actually there are cupholders in the back it pops out from below the AC vent
There are cup holders in the back. They are hiding in the center console! Just push the tray and they pop out!
Your cup holders are below the rear USB charge ports press that bottom piece, it will slide out and there your cup holders are
There are cup holders in the back seat. They are beneath the USB ports
"if you want to be there, you hit the gas" Haha, Just a little ribbing. Nice video. My wife wants one. No 100 ludicrous for her.
Sarahntuned has the best brake stops. You have the best 0-60s 👏
Glad you mentioned the stereo. I had a BMW M3 convertible that BMW touted as the highest powered system they'd ever made. While I thought it sounded good at the time, the Tesla just blows it away. Supposedly a group of key employees from a few high end audio companies came to meet Elon Musk and help design the system for the Teslas. Its amazing what they delivered without any "badge" attached to it.
Weird, I drive a BMW X3 with a Harman Kardon sound system (which sounds amazing) and I took a Model S for a testdrive, of course I checked the soundsystem and that was not blowing me away, in fact it does not sound good at all ... the sound was very metal! Did I drove with a faulty one?
@@philipclaeys6920 Hey Philip, I also own an F25 X35i! The X3 premium sound is very good but not nearly what the Model 3 has. I assumed the Model S was the same, maybe I'm wrong? The Model 3 sound is beyond any German luxury brand I've heard yet though.
@@aussie2uGA than there must have been a broken sound system in the Tesla car (Model S) I used for a testdrive, because that sounds was horrible!
Very cool! I assume it was a friends car?
Turo in North Carolina while I was on a trip last fall.
Sweet! I have been looking forward to this review since I saw the car in November 😄! I was thinking of renting it since it wasn't to far from me.
U shall buy 1
No more music intros? :o
Still love your videos though :)
Review a 2020 Corvette C8
He already has
Someone needs to make a compilation of only his award winning expressions.
Facts
It's mind blowing and definitely takes some getting used to with daily driving. I drove a friend's dual motor Model 3, not even performance, and it was crazy just how quick the throttle response is only at 4 sec 0-60
Yep, many passengers actually complain it's "too fast" as their vision gets distorted if they aren't prepared.
Great review...but maybe have someone clean the car before getting closeups on all the dirty control stalks!!
Picked up a pre-owned S 85 a month ago and did a 4000mi roadtrip. These cars are surreal. I'll never buy another gasoline vehicle.
I kind of agree that Teslas are one trick ponies with that 0 to 60 stuff. I urge them to continue to develop their cars as they are quite rough and don't yet compare to the fit and finish of German cars.
This has to be the ultimate sleeper car if all time hands down
Not really a sleeper now everyone I know knows how quick these things are off the line
diy guy ... only car people. The average person just sees Teslas as fancy electric vehicles.
Everyone knows it is fast now
Just watched the Throttle House review of the Lambo Huracan Evo spyder and watching their outro then it came straight here. I'm just not ready to let go of ICEs probably will look at EVs around 2030.
just that screen would drain the battery ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~WOWZERS!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~:)
You have range mode on ..
Let’s pull onto this backroad here...
Then proceeds to scream like a girl 😂😂😂

I call shenanigans that you saved your first real acceleration through 36 hours of driving for this video, I'd have a hard time making it 3 minutes.
Haha well I kinda misspoke, it was 36 hours with the car in my possession, only had about 10 hours of drive time before this review.
@@MattMaranMotoring No worries my friend, I forgive you this time. Drive safe.
Come on, you didn’t even try navigate on autopilot? That’s the best part of highway driving! It’s awesome!
But driving urself is more safe
Bob The not really, people can be really dumb sometimes
The sheer fear in his eyes when he accelerates is the reason I want one of these to scare as many people as posible
I love how the owner got the Elon University special license plate and then got it personalized "Musk".
Tesla exhaust note Noice ! Man it is so fast and no one would argue that point at all. Otherwise its a pedestrian kitchen appliance lacking any personality. Perfect for Silicon Valley Lemmings with faces firmly planted in their iPhone's.
I agree. Mechanical typewriters had such a nice, satisfying sound to them when you typed. A marvel of engineering. Stupid touchscreens are for the weak
@@nsbioy Yup making that connection between typewriters and a car's exhaust note pretty much solidified my argument. Go grab me a terabyte of data you muppet.

Sounds like Morty going OoooWooooOoooo
Under the rear USBs there is a portion that you can push and rear cup holders come out. Just an FYI
Maybe tht version didn't have it
I think these cars are great. But I passed on one recently because of the range. While in everyday driving it would probably be fine it would create too much anxiety for me on long trips. For this type of car I would need two cars - this one and a long trip car. In addition - while everyone loves them when they review them - long term folks keep reporting quality issues. So for me it is not ready yet for prime time.
Not ready for prime time? They have well exceeded prime time because they are literally everywhere on the road.
whoa whoa whoa :))))
Your acceleration reactions kill me every time lmao
Lol
Wow Matt's reaction haha
Lol
What's with that left fender?
0:50 what is up with that panel gap where the fender, bumper, hood and light lineup?
that tesla build quality for yah

While I think the torque punch of electric cars is addicting, there's something to be said about revving a naturally aspirated high-revving motor.
Zoya Spencer It’s not just because of that. Revving out a naturally aspirated engine that keeps making power the higher you rev makes for a rewarding driving experience that encourages you to beat on it. That, along with the soundtrack that comes with it, equals FUN. Electric motors fall off as RPMs rise, though there is no denying how effective they are.
Emilbus engine sounds just annoy me to be honest, too loud, they make them sound really loud even though they are the slowest things ever
Roadkill alerts they really have those?
Yep!
anyone else see that teggy at 16:48
The best part is all that fun only costs you a couple bucks.
Umm there are cup holders in the back...you even showed them. The tray is push to open.
Can’t wait for the roadster 😹 imagine making little civic with this kind of power 🙀 0 to 60 0.40 seconds
15:14 it’s like having your personal roller coaster.
True
👍🏽
I'm part of the unpopular opinion that the S looks better than the 3. Interior and exterior.
No noise or drama when you launch? Meh.
I definitely prefer the Model S to the 3, which looks cheap, in my opinion. I couldn't see myself owning any other Tesla model, to be honest. The S is the most practical and the most attractive of the lineup. It is ridiculous that there are no cup holders in the back seat tho. This car is WAY too expensive to let that slip by.
Somebody go tell Elon we want our fast EV's to have butt coolers and massagers too
The Tesla roadster is the fastest car ever made. 0-60 in 1.9 seconds!
It's not a production car yet.
Finally. Now you get to feel real acceleration. @15:00
Cybertruck
It is like getting a review from PeeWee Herman.
Not supposed to charge over 90%, not supposed to go under 20%, lots of rules. I'll be dead by the time this is a "thing", good luck to the rest of you👴

Please make more Reaction videos MATT! :D
I did a compilation when I hit 400k subscribers and nobody watched it lol.
The Dodge Dart has Napa leather. What is this shit going with fake leather. What the fuck?
There is no substitute for genuine leather seats
John Tardi Rather have cloth if it ain’t genuine.
John Tardi there is, it’s called every other seat in cars
Matt, nice video but I am going to critique today. If you're going to review, KNOW YOUR CAR. In the back seat just below the USB, push in the flat area and out comes two cup holders! I have them on my 75D so I'm sure it's in yours. Also, any review should start with a clean car. Dirty cars show poorly on video. Again, love the video, just some suggestions!
He probably has trouble finding Model S's to review
The car looks fantastic, but those rims are definitely trash.
@John Edwards yes it is. Tesla does offer better looking rims.

The time is in the description
People may call this a 1/4 mile, 1 trick pony, but the performance is insane. I’d love to own it and put all the M’s, AMG’s, and Hellcats to shame (through the 1/4 mile)
Tesla doesn't have the sound though
Bob The Agreed. That’s my biggest knock against Tesla. I guess they could pipe in fake noise, but that would be lame and prob sound terrible. It sucks, but I guess that’s the future of an ICE-less vehicle future. I also wish they had visible exhausts. I know they’re not needed but it would be a nice cosmetic upgrade.
Bob The no one wants the sound of engines, literally only car guys do, most people do not
Chased _Away a lot of people do want sound though
Mark Murphy I wouldn't want fake sound
