  • THESE ARE NOISY, WHAT CAN I DO TO STOP IT? I USE ONE OF THESE HEATERS TO PUMP HOT AIR INTO MY HOME OVER THE WINTER MONTHS. THEY ARE GREAT BUT CAN BE NOISY, BUT DONT WORRY WE CAN SOLVE THIS PROBLEM.
PUMPING HOT AIR INTO MY HOME
I bought one of these for my garage, and then thought....... I could heat my home with this! So that's exactly what i did! It is working great pumping hot air into my home. It is keeping us nice and warm and super economical.
I have a carbon monoxide detector just in case, but you don't get any fumes indoors at all
    .
I hope this may help you in some way. Even if it just makes an idea pop up in your head, of how you can heat your home in cheaper way.
Thanks for looking at my videos cheers Andy..... If you can be anything, be Kind.....

Put two exhausts in series, it makes it virtually silent.

Another good video , the silencer they come with really isnt very good , i have first exhaust section running into an upgrade silencer then a 2 meter section into another upgrade silencer , almost silent now on any setting , thats the work shop experiments over , next to move the next one to the house ,

Which upgrade silencer have you chosen? Looking in to exhaust dynamics and an empty first silencer maybe better than the straight through fibre filled ones.
Empty box first then a normal pass through may reduce the noise more than 2 straight through boxes.

be carefull after 4 metres the combustion might start getting bad as in inlet provides oxygen for the burn and exhuast needs equal relief to vent the burnt gasses, and then lead to you dismantling the combustion chamber to clear all the soot built up lol

Do they always smoke at startup or is that a settings issue? Just tested mine in the closed shed, don't worry I was outside but good job I did it after midnight, it looks like it's on fire. LOL.
A lot of smoke from a cold (first) start. Is it like that for every cold start to do I need to alter the settings?
What do you use to seal the exhaust, I noticed a lot of smoke from the exhaust joints also.
It made me think that your inlet maybe inside the wooden box outside which maybe pushing exhaust fumes into your house?
I was thinking of making an easily detachable exhaust so that it can be moved. Problem with moving a 2metre+ exhaust still connected is not easy. Silly that the exhaust is at the front of the unit and needs tracking around the inlet and fuel pipe. Thanks for the videos, making me think of different approaches.

thanks, my heaters dont smoke. when i have done some of the experiments , i have had condensation. i never get any fumes smells inside at all. as you said it may be a settings issue?
i have heard that people adjust them to alpine mode ( really lean i think) may help
good luck with it cheers andy

@@andyfireblade Thanks, It's brand new and maybe I over primed the pump and put excess fuel into the chamber? I did have fuel dripping from the hole in the exhaust.
My controller uses 5 buttons with one just activating the pump which was ideal for priming. I will check the settings in the hidden menu but every video I watch seems to use different settings?

    MY HEATER USES NO MUFFLER

Is it actually running? They sound like miniature jet engines when running.

How does the cost work out compared to other heating sources like electric or gas?

12v battery i simple solar panel so electric free the 40p a litre for red deisel per ten hours on low setting is a no brainer

Great heaters. I have 2 also .. I'm trying to source red diesel or heating oil in Norfolk but I have to buy 400 liters minimum so I read.. 😮

Red diesel will get harder to obtain and cost as much as normal diesel. Possibly too many using it in road vehicles so they are adding the same tax as road diesel.
Heating oil can be bought in 20 litre sizes. You can get kerosene delivered from ebay sellers but the delivery costs make it as expensive as normal diesel.
But check the sellers and see which ones are local to you, I probably don't live far from Andy so GB fuels is not that far from me. They will even sell you a 20/25L tub for about £6 and the kerosene is then under £1 a litre after the first purchase. Kerosene may burn cleaner also.
