  • PUMPING HOT AIR INTO MY HOME
I bought one of these for my garage, and then thought....... I could heat my home with this! So that's exactly what i did! It is working great pumping hot air into my home. It is keeping us nice and warm and super economical.
I have a carbon monoxide detector just in case, but you don't get any fumes indoors at all
    .
I hope this may help you in some way. Even if it just makes an idea pop up in your head, of how you can heat your home in cheaper way.
Thanks for looking at my videos cheers Andy..... If you can be anything, be Kind.....

Better to pull cold air in for combustion instead of from the room you’re trying to heat. Otherwise you create a negative pressure, with the air being made up from leaks in the house envelope, drawing in cold air from outside. That’s why some folks upgrade their wood/pellet stoves with outdoor air intake.

Also, if the combustion chamber floods, then the excess diesel is pumped out of the combustion air intake!
You definitely do not want diesel dripping inside your house.

Would that pressure difference be anyhing meaningful? and of course the opposite would be true you'd be forcing warm air out,, interesting point though, but as I have 2 x 4 inch vent pipes in my living room becuase of a gas appliance in the fireplace, that blow a gale I guess it would be moot for me :)

I also have the combustion air intake from the outside for the above reasons. It also cuts down on the noise quite a bir.

The air in and out is an equal exchange and wouldn’t cause positive or negative pressure however the air inlet for exhaust is sucking air and would cause a negative this is extremely low and would almost be not noticeable. I wouldn’t understand why you would need this inside the property unless it’s what samples the air temp to turn the heater on and off

I have a similar setup. Drawing warm air from the living room is ok You need to put that "silencer" outside because it leaks Co2 from the drain hole in the bottom of it. Also, I use smooth bore pipe and not that corrugated pipe from the point where you have the silencer so as to aid gas flow out of the unit (corrugated pipe collects soot over time). I used to use diesel for 18 months but have used kerosene for the past 8 months with zero issues.
Mine is located under the stairs and exhaust vented through the main wall to outside.

I have exactly this setup in my remote concrete panel garage, the disadvantage I have is that I have to power it off of a generator. Otherwise these things work a treat and my garage has never got as warm as it does now and for a few pence a day on diesel. I think I might give this a go in my house as it is pretty cheap to buy and setup. Well done on the vid

Great way to beat the negative pressure by keeping all the flow and returns in the same room. Doing a radiator connection to deal with the exhaust gases would capture more heat. Pipe and lag the inlet at the top of the rad and the outlet at the bottom to ensure condensate doesnt get into your heater and as you know, that rad is gonna get properly hot! Great videos and content!

you can get fumes blow back into the house from the combustion air intake as its connected to the combustion chamber also the exhaust lets fumes out as there not air tight and should be mounted outside at the end of the exhaust pipe and not in between :)

Nice setup, but I have two suggestions. 1) the large return should be lower on the wall to pull in the cold air by the floor. 2) the small air source pipe should not be pulling warm air out of your house. It is being wasted because it goes out the exhaust.

Only the exhaust gas is vented outside, the 'inside' air is incapable of being drawn into the exhaust side, I have 3 of these heaters. The biggest mistake to make with these heaters in too many bends in the exhausts, it will either choke up the unit with soot or shut down upon startup.

    • @michaeldvorak5556
      @michaeldvorak5556 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

@merlin1346 you misunderstood. The air drawn into the burner and expelled through the exhaust should not come from inside of the area you're trying to heat. It will take your heated air and waste it out of the exhaust.

Great setup!! Looks neat and well thought out. I would love if you could incorporate your exhaust heat radiator setup to heat the garage at the same time with the otherwise lost heat (I know you have a long exhaust pipe, but still) and I would drill a hole and get the display wired inside the house. You could also do some kind of pipe work inside your house so that the air intake would be getting the coldest air possible from a room far away from the air outlet, to stimulate circulation inside your house, but I completely understand if that is a step to far 😅 Great job. I have watched I think all your videoes on these heaters and have gotten one from Vevor myself for the garage with a 4,5m long straight aluminium exhaust pipe to get the most heat possible out of it, with inspiration from your videos. Greetings from Norway!

Yes, taking hot air from the already heated room and drawing it into the burn chamber doesn’t make much sense if you are looking to run as efficiently as possible, which you suggested you do. You’re basically dumping/wasting heated air by doing that, as it will be coming out of your exhaust.

Is it not better to draw combustion air from the cold ? It is probably marginal on this type of burner, but usually cooler air is preferred as it is more dense and therefore you get a more efficient burn🤔🎅😎

Hi Andy, you have inspired me to purchase a diesel heater to heat my home. I too have a garage which is where I intend to house the heater & pop a hole through the wall into to the hall. Like you my hall has all the ground floor rooms & the stairs off so it seems the best place to start. Why have you mounted the heater so high off the the floor? I assume that you have ducted the fan intake air from your hall to recirculate warm air rather than colder air from the garage? I also live in the Midlands & know of a Kerosene supplier I already use for my smokeless coal, logs & kindling. My heater has been delivered so thought I'd drop you a message, this is where my journey begins 👍

I spotted a problem with these, anyone using lifepo4's to run these and when the voltage gets too low the combustion turns directly off and reverses through the input manifold back into the house.
It was a surprise as I had to find a power source to charge the battery back up to cool the burner down. Be careful with these. (Not plug and play).

OMG you people and your C0 worries. If someone has the knowledge to work a system like this, they should know that the risks of C0 poisoning is very minimal. As for gas boilers used in modern central heating applications is a total farce. unless of course you seal up all your windows and doors! The entire population of the UK would cease to have existed if it were that dangerous! We used to run off coal gas which was considered extremely poisonous throughout the 50's 60's and into the 70's with virtually no safety requirements! Yes be sensible but wow the safety net is ridiculous these days and the people that would install such system surely knows the risks and prepare for them. Or is this channel and all those that promote a cheap source of energy a scam?

You may have excess soot buildup if running these on low all the time. Best to be running mid-way, or so. At least 4 on a scale of 6. Also, I'd suggest drawing combustion air from the garage, rather than taking away from the heated area to do this. Why heat some air, just to put it outside the living space for the burner?

Do you have any back-up to have a controlled shutdown of the heater should the 12v supply fail for any reason?

Move the thermostat into the hallway as you will not benefit from the warm intake to dsve fuel

The 12 volt from the heater to the supply needs an inline fuse

i would say if u want greatly increase the efficiency of that burner u need to exchange waste heat from the exhaust to heat up the fresh air (but the impeler seem to be make of bakelite maybe not better idea of the world; but basikly.. if u preheat intake air u go higger in temperature inside the device so the delta T is bigger so i will give off more power into the house heated air..

i freshly own one, personally i will go for distilation setup... 1 meter inox housing for freshwater on exhause, housing copied like chemistery simple path distilation (1 meter of water condenser will do the job to recover the waste heat.. and why a distilation setup? to recover the corosive condensat and be able to dispose of it properly or maybe use it for chemistery ^^

if u use it inside a van with waste heat recovery . let say u have 200 liter barrel u heat ur camping car to a nice cozy heat until ur waste heate had heated ur 200 liter to 60c .. then done shut the diesel of and let ur heated hot water tank not insulated act as radioator and keep the place nice and warm for u to sleep without that pesty pump noise...

How much fuel do the 2 diesel heaters use? I heat a 4 bed for less than a fiver gas a day, i also have a diesel heater on a boat and its no where near as efficient as my home heating

@@internetuser1183 there is a youtube video of a guy (stevethetransit) i think? killing his power to see what happens, and he did it many times and the heater was fine.
i have lost power a couple of times (my own fault) and mine was ok too.
but i dont have power cuts ever here , so i am ok.
i prefer the 12v power supply instead of the battery

I've got exactly the same set with the converter, but last month it let me down it will run for about 40 minutes and the it just turns itself off fills the room with fumes, it's saying error code 7, do you have any idea what this could be?

The way you've set this up it's not safe two reasons one these Chinese heaters do not have very good connection with exhaust and does leak bad idea to have the unit inside your house. 2nd you are missing a back up Battery if you ever got that on full power, and you have a power cut it will damage or even melt the plastic housing another reason why it should be outside
