    Hi Andy , My set up is much the same as yours ,exept that my heater is in the laundry area with the exhaust through a radiator ,so that almost all of the heat stays in the house.

    Hi Andy,
    looking at the black box that you house the heater in, where does it get the air from to blow over the heat exchanger?
    I couldn’t see any side vents in the box and there’s non in the lid of the box either.

    Alright Andy, just got my first heater to get myself warm this winter. But you are using kerosene, that wouldn't be an issue for the glow plug?

    How does it compare to oil central heating?

    • @andyfireblade
      @andyfireblade  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      its a lot cheaper, these are aprox 8kw and most central heating is 30kw.
      and you get a good bit of heat. cheers andy

    It might be cheap but what do you do about the smell?

    • @andyfireblade
      @andyfireblade  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      there is no smell inside at all. with these heaters you dont get the burn smell inside. it is like a heat exchanger. you get the hot air blown in, not the burn.
      cheers andy

    I’m curious…. What kind of heat output do you think you are getting on the low setting?
    I wonder how you can really heat a whole house or even a room with this?
    I bought one for my caravan. I found the lowest setting wasn’t really low enough…. Pretty sure it used a lot more than 100ml / Hr 🤔🤔

    • @andyfireblade
      @andyfireblade  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      you can put these on alpine mode, that is real low. on 1 or 2 it just keeps the house warm.
      did you see my other heater videos: www.youtube.com/@andyfireblade
      let me know what you think
      cheers andy

    • @EdwardEngines

      Thanks Andy, yes, I’ve seen quite a few of your videos.
      Not disputing the thing puts some heat into your house, but given that the output on a low setting must be what - maybe 1 kw? Less? You can’t heat a whole house or even one room with a kw… and you are bringing in outside air I think, not reheating internal air?
      Don’t get me wrong - I’m not meaning to question or criticise you. Just plenty of people claiming amazing things for these heaters - and it’s crap. They are really inefficient. Yes, they use less oil than your boiler, but they also make a LOT less heat, and less efficiently…
      As you know, if you recycle the air, and you capture some exhaust heat there are significant efficiency gains.
      I’m sure someone has done some proper testing to ascertain what kind of heat output they actually get for fuel used 🤔

    If you feel like having a home in a country that doesn't hate you and want your elderly family to die of cold, consider moving to the US.

      I'm Farnborough; nipped down to Rawlings fuels just south of Odiham. Initial cost £1.20/L in 25L containers. I took the containers for a refill, 99p L. Give them a bell. Search "heating oil", not "kerosene" (although it is kero)

      @@andyfireblade yes, I think I've seen them all, good content, thanks. I'm thinking of getting on to use as backup if my central heating goes out in the cold of winter. Probably wont keep my place comfortable, by avoid frozen water pipes at least.
