Great video Z. I'm in the UK so mine took nearly 3wks to get here! After daily use and I don't nurse headphones, my young kids use them. It's nearly a month now and all is well so far, no issues. These are just so awesome people that comment negative and haven't tried them are so missing out big time! M1060 plus Fiio X5 3rd gen cannot be beaten! On the plus side MMCX cables are everywhere and at decent prices too.

Can't wait for rev. 2! I'll be patient. Hope you review the next revision to verify fixes to the problems the 1060s are having now.

Just recieved Monolith M1060 from Monoprice based on ZReviews advice. The latest version has 2.5mm jacks with a very solid feel. My previous headphones were ATH-M50x which sounded muddy and compressed in comparison. These Monolith M1060 are far more musical which allows me to listen to old albums anew. Running direct from xperia z3 at full volume drives the Monolith M1060 at about my normal listening levels. However a Dac Amp is on my wish list.

Version 2 (with 3.5mm jacks instead of the mmcx connector+smoothed metal+??) ordered 4/25, received 4/27.

For anyone wondering these are AMAZING for gaming. The soundstage is incredible and you can tell exactly where someone is in every circumstance. I highly recommend these for gaming and I own 7 pairs of audiophile headphones and a few gaming headphones. By far my favorite headphone for gaming

I recently purchased a V1 of the M1060. I removed the foam under the outside grill and changed the pads to the Hifiman Velpad. I removed the Hifiman install ring and used two sided tape to attach to the M1060. The comfort is nice and soft, not as plush as the stock pads, but they fit around my large ears with no issues. On a plus, the clamp isn't as severe either, which is a bonus if you wear glasses like me. As for change in sound, you do lose a little bit of soundstage but the imaging is still great. Treble seems to be about the same and there is a slight addition of warmth to vocals. I am not great at describing sound quality, sorry about that. I do know that my ears are a lot more comfortable and I like the sound that is being portrayed.

Thank you for this review. I got the Rev 2 of these although I already owned the lcd-2s Rev 3. I'm selling the shit out of those. These are so much better, lighter, more comfortable! It's astonishing. I game a lot too and the imaging is crystal clear while It was pretty muddied with the lcds. Build quality is perfectly OK, at least with the Rev 2. Will never regret this buy!

Picked these up for $199, paired it with a Fiio Q1 Mark II for a "mid" range portable setup that I can also use at home when I can't use speakers and use on the road when I'm doing shows, but I need to be able to hear people talking to me. Swap between these and MSR7s and M40Xs I use at work / on the road for closed-backs and have never been happier.
