  • This is a review of my current favorite headphone, the Monoprice M1060. I’ve owned them for several months now, and still love ‘em. In this video, I’ll tell you why they are my choice over the Sennheiser HD58X / HD6XX and the Hifiman HE4XX.

    I have not additional dac or Amp. Can I dive m1060 by my phone??

      @MrAyrit  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I was able to drive the M1060 just fine from my phone. If you decide to get a dac/amp later, you'll be able to see improvements in sound quality.

    Did you try monoprice m1070??
    Now those are $300 at Walmart.

      I haven't tried them. I'm sure they're pretty good. Not sure about $300. They've got a lot of competition at that price. Sundara would be a top choice at that price.

    Only for music listening 6xx or m1060 only for music listening??
    By the way I like bass. I am confused between those.

    • @MrAyrit
      @MrAyrit  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My preference is with he M1060--it definitely has more bass presence than the 6XX.

    M1060 vs meze 99 classic what is the main difference between those in sound characteristics??

    • @MrAyrit
      @MrAyrit  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Well, it's been long enough since I've heard the M1060 that I'm going to struggle to make the comparison. Meze 99 classic was very bass-centric--much darker than I remember the M1060 being. I was not a huge fan of the 99s. Honestly, I thought the M1060 was pretty good. Although for $200 I'm really liking the Sennheiser HD560s at this point. You could probably find a used M1060 for under $150, which would be a solid deal.

    Nowdays which is you favorites headphone under 400€?

    • @MrAyrit

      I really enjoyed the Edition XX. You might look at the new Edition XS. I also liked the 660s quite a bit. Elex/Elear would be right up there too. If you can stretch your budget a little and have the amp to drive it, the HE6SE is phenomenal.

      I make again the question, which is your favorites headphone under 300€?

    • @MrAyrit
      @MrAyrit  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LandsPlanes I thought the exchange rate was a bit different from that. What is a 660s there? In the US, they can regularly be had for $300. I am a big advocate of buying used-opens up a lot of possibilities. If you’re looking for something inexpensive, the Hifiman 400se is pretty great for not a lot of money.

      @@MrAyrit 660s in amazon web cost 450€.
      Other products:
      Sundara 350€ now in offer.
      Hifiman xs edition, only available is linsoul web.
      Harmonicdyne Zeus 440€.
      Hifiman 400se is a better and fun headphone than Sivga Robin?

    • @MrAyrit
      @MrAyrit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LandsPlanes 400se technically better and tuned better IMO. The Sivga is fun, but it is not neutral by any means. Amazon open-box can be good for deals as well (at least in the US).

    They looking built very thin metal.

      Biggest issue I’ve heard is the wood on the cups cracking, but I don’t think that impacts sound much. I’ve owned two sets-the seem pretty robust to me.

    No service when they are out of warranty or if you cannot come up with the original purchase order number (you can't even pay out of pocket), and there are no parts sold by Monoprice. Keep this in mind before purchasing, you may be throwing away your money.

    • @MrAyrit
      @MrAyrit  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a good point. I owned them for about a year and had no issues, but quality control for the previous iterations of this model had some known cracking issues.

      @hectorg.7282 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrAyrit version two is better as I have heard, but that is not to say that it is on par with what a headphone like this should be. I praise their 5 year no questions asked warranty (when the conditions are met), but not even offering parts is horrible for the consumer.
      They told me that it is because they return all the defective unit to the manufacturer. Would it not make sense that a customer can contact Monoprice and then they would place an order for parts with the manufacturer? Even if it took a month or two. Better than to have to throw away your headphones for small reasons like the 2.5mm input being damaged or one of the drivers not working.
