- In part 4 I complete the liner for the fuel tank, and overcome a problem with the tank vent circuit. More videos to come! Next, I'll start cleaning the carbs....all 6 of 'em! Thanks for watchin'!
Truly easyest vidio to follow.because of you it makes it possible to fix our own bikes, and save big bucks.most importantly to do a good job . Thankd DRay.
I can't tell you how happy i am to have found your videos! I'm young, (18) and i bought my first bike (1978 cb750) for 750 dollars. I bought it to learn on it as a project bike. It starts but sometimes had trouble idling. sometimes it would shut off. So i went ahead and cleaned the carbs as best as i could but didn't really know how to clean the gas tank. My friend suggested the cheap apple cider vinegar way but that didn't really work. So i was looking for a good kit or way to clean the tank out. Thought of metal rescue at first but then came across your videos which changed my mind into ordering Kreem. Thank you for uploading these videos. BTW your step by step videos are probably the best i have ever viewed on TH-cam. You thoroughly explain everything and give good tips in detail as well. Thank you so much! :)
Started cleaning / refitting the 6 carbs on my 97 Valk this afternoon. Carbs are now sitting on my work bench. Came in for supper and rewatched Parts 1,2,3 for motivation. Thanks for making the huge effort to put your expertise out there. Your videos are excellent.
D-Ray - Thanks for these videos!! I am bringing a 1997 valkyrie back to life tand this and your carbs videos were a life saver.
I live in Bartlesville, OK and now I know where I'm taking my 2003 Valk to be worked on. Had a problem with low speed missing. Took it to local dealer and they said it was a frozen piston ring. After their failed attempt to fix, I decided to give it a try. Felt almost sure it was a carb issue. Second carb I checked had a broken diaphragm spring. Fixed it for $6 and runs like a dream.
Excellent videos! I just purchased a liner kit for my 1984 Suzuki, so watching you go through the process was very helpful.
Thanks, The main thing is to not get in a big hurry. I did this tank over a 3 day period.
Very much appreciate the detail and explanation of every step in your videos! I got me a 97 valkyrie 1500, but the tank was rusted to shit. I'm halfway through the process now, I'll give you an update on how it worked out and what I learned. Again, thank you!
Addendum: what, if any, additional steps would you recommend if it appears someone had already tried to line this tank before? I see some liner in there, but it clearly wasn't done well.
I hope you made more about VALKYRIE ...NICE VIDEOS ..TNX
Well done Bud!! I'm sure that project was alot more fun than 6 carb rebuilds will be eh!!☺
Great videos!!! Clear, simple and nice! Many compliments from Italy!
Nice video, Great class. Thanks for sharing!
That was one of the carb clamps, great eye bro! lol
Great to see a REAL expert!!!!! Thanks
Thanks Dibber, I was able to save this tank for 1/4 the cost of a new one.
You've got more patience than I do! Good job!
Really enjoy all of your videos - best, Jesseb
Alot of people enjoy your vids, We'd love to see more, at a faster pace :P
Excellent Videos, Thank you, Mike
Thanks man, and those carbs are as bad off as the tank was!
great video..
nice job
How do you plan to plug the vent line that's still open on the bottom of the tank? It wasn't addressed in the video. Yes... you're installing a new vented gas cap... but the vent line that broke off inside the tank is still an issue.
bit harder than I thought, but very infomative, thanks
looking good...and it,s only 6 carbs...geeezzee...lol
Hello and thanks for this videos.
I nust purchased '99 valkyrie that was sitting in a garage for over 6 month.
I only able to accelerate by pulling on the accelerator about a 1/4 range ay the time and wait to the speed ro build up.
If i try to remp up the speed thw bike motor sound like is not going anywhere.
Where sure i focused my investigation?
Awesome as usual bubba!!
Thanks Tom, I appreciate it bro.
Hey D-Ray,
Just curious.
How did you plug off the old vent tube to prevent gas from leaking out?
Really enjoy your videos.
Thank you.
Spoken like a pro! lol! Thanks.
I apologize in advance, in case my dad tracks you down and picks a fight because I'm totally gonna get his run down Valkyrie running and ride the hell out if it after watching all your videos!
What are your thoughts about adding some nuts and or bolts to the soapy water to help in knocking off the rust?
Awesome videos! Thanks!!
Thanks for watchin'.
