    There is an extra pully if you have an air conditioner. So keep an eye out for that.
    The tensioner bolt you use to take on and off the belt may require more leverage then a wrench will give you. I had to use a breaker bar with a socket to get my belt on.
    Also, there are 3 different styles of belts for the same vehicle. 2 different styles of belts for this vehicle with an air conditioner. So keep that in mind when buying the belt. Just because Amazon says it will fit your vehicle, doesn't mean it will.

      I have 96 Previa LE SC... Do u know if it requires 2 or 3 belts ? From top, I see only 2 belts but some online diagrams have 3 belts. Maybe there is extra 3rd belt for SC Super charger but unsure. Thanks 🙏

    Very good video Peter and excellent details and film quality! I was going to do this job for my girlfriend but now that I found something so detailed with basic instructions for beginners she can just do it on her own. Just kidding 😂.

    Great video. In real life, the 100% correct belt was missing about 1cm to slide on the alternator wheel, so I kept pulling and pulling the tension bold with wrench as you do in the video, untill it snapped and cracked completely. Result: unable to put the belt on anymore.

    EXCELLENT video - thanks for posting. May I suggest some English words that may make it easier for people to follow the very good instructions in future videos? This is not criticism at all, just suggestions that may help you succeed even better:
    not wheels, but pulleys; instead of holes and hills, 'grooves' and 'ridges' that must 'match up' or 'interlock', or even 'mesh' - (like gears, almost) ; instead of 'rotate' maybe 'slide'; also, be specific on tools - at least the first time you refer to it: '13 mm box-end wrench'; the word 'wrench' - the w is completely silent, so it's just 'Rench' - or here in Texas "Rinch", or in Arkansas - "Ree-yunch" - ha ha, just kidding. Hope this helps, and thanks again for sharing your time and expertise.

      Thank You. Your English hints are excellent. I test your recommendations soon like: slide, Rench and Rinch. PS. Please send more English hints to me also in Future. :-) Thanks. :-)

    I am SOO happy I found your channel. I have a Toyota Yaris and this helps me so much. I just got my serpentine belt changed on Friday, it was very bad. But after I got it changed, it is making a loud screeching sound. It used to make a low screech before with the old belt. But now with the new one, it's louder than ever. I have to go back on Monday to get it fixed. But what could have happened that made it screech so loud? Do you think it was put in wrong?

      Hello. So, if your car's engine looks similar then my engine, then the issue might be the tensioner. This part tightens the belt. You might need to change that tensioner too. You find that my video in here:

    Forgot to let peeps know that you need to unscrew the lower bolt you cant see on the alternator, if your belt squeaks , you need a bit more tension on it therfor need to readjust the alternator.

    Hey Peter, I have a Toyota Yaris from year 2000. But my alternator is in the back. Is it the same method even if the alternator is in the back, or do you use a tensioner pulley instead?

    I use a 18mm super socket/ratchet to move the tensioner forward. a 19mm will round off the head of that nut on the tensioner if it slips off. good job you make it look simple but things can go wrong........thanks

  • @azeriaburch6366
    @azeriaburch6366 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    The alternator is as tight as i can make my belt. but it still squeaks. so i think the guy that put my alternator on stretched my belt. or could it be from tension bolt or something?
