    I am impressed by the quality of this video. The wrench sizes being in the corner. The list of tools from the get-go. The clarity of your script/speech. A very well done video. Thank you.

      @@EndlessMoneyPits just a follow up: I successfully and easily changed out my alternator due to your (this) video.
      I think my AC clutch is fried so that’s next on my list.

    I have watched a few videos for replacing the alternator on my Yaris, this is the best bar far, great lighting, showing the multi plug rely well,that one was causing me stress, I now feel confident to do the job, thanks a lot.

    Might be a bit late to the party, but I hope this comment helps some people.
    Customers of mine have their alternators replaced/upgraded frequently, if the bottom piece connecting with a bolt has a bigger gap than the alternator that was pre-installed in the car, you can use washers to the size of the bolt, and fill in that gap, works wonders and is very secure so long as you tighten properly.

      I thought about that but you run the risk of cracking the cast alternator housing if the washer setup isn't perfect (this is a DIY channel for novices). It can also alter the belt alignment. Honestly, I would not trust a mechanic who takes shortcuts to make faulty parts fit.

      @@EndlessMoneyPits That's usually how universal model high output alternators are installer here in the EU, my car had a P&P alternator with no changes needed, washers work fine for a couple customers with universal model alternators, my oldest one has had it for 3 years at least, but yes I see your point in what people look for.

    I have had problems with multi plugs, do you squeeze the tabs on the ends or top/ bottom please

    • @EndlessMoneyPits
      @EndlessMoneyPits  ปีที่แล้ว

      Both of these plugs are squeezed from the sides. It will make sense when you see it up close.

    Thanks, I missed the bushing that needs to be sucked up when tigtening the pivot bolt.

    Great info, but why did you not use a washer or two when the gap was a bit too big?

      I like to do things the right way. Don't install defected parts if you don't have to.

    Just installed my new one and why is my belt squeaking so much? Its very loud and doesn't stop.

      The belt isn't tight enough.

    Good video but you could have avoided buying a second alternator by simply putting a bolt through the bottom of the alternator before installing with a nut on the other end and it would pull the ears together enough to get it in place, hope this saves someone from buying a second alternator

      I tried that but it did not work. The part that should have moved inward was seized.

      @ would this look the same in a diesel ? Or almost the same ?

    • @EndlessMoneyPits
      @EndlessMoneyPits  หลายเดือนก่อน

      That will be a completely different motor, and I am not familiar with its design. Try to find a diesel specific video if you can. Sorry I can't be of more help.

    jesus . .. you bought a new car, not a new halterneitar. all i needed, was the corner of the street the 14 and 10 wrench, 2 packs of cigarets , and a used /recicled alternator that works just fine :)
