I’ve had excruciating sciatic pain for two years. I watched this video a little over a month ago and began taking copper drops. I got up to 20 mg within a week and I’ve now been free of sciatica for six days. I’m so excited to be free of pain!

@@DonlikeJman1 Sadly it didn’t continue that way. I read in one of the comments about them getting relief from nucca treatments and started almost a month ago. I’m about 80% out of pain which is manageable. The doctor says to just be patient and it will be gone after the full three months of treatments. I’m hopeful. It was probably the worst two years of my life.

I’ll never forget the day I was fainting in a bus in the middle of Mexico, this beautiful woman came up to me and gave me a hand full of pennies and said hold on tight. 5 minutes later I was no longer dizzy and felt completely fine. Hey eric, Ayurveda reader and self practioner here. Just a quick thing, in our Indian families copper has been placed as one of the vital things and was used in multiple ways, however to make sure one does not get copper deficiency, our ancestors made copper utensils and stored water in them overnight. Bracelets might be one of the short term fixes, but the utensil stays forever, I even have one in my home passed on from my grandfather. Keep in mind to not place dairy products in copper, it can cause severe digestive issues on the long term. Thx for the reminder for copper, and I hope my comment helps 😊.

Back in the 70s my grandmother, who suffered terribly from arthritis and associated pain, flew to Boston to see a specialist and one of the things he told her was to wear a copper bracelet. She did until the day she died when she was 100 years old. She swore by that bracelet because, from the time she started wearing it, her suffering eased greatly and she lived a long and healthy life.

I had sciatica pain off and on for years. This year it was so bad that I couldn’t walk properly. I got mri done on my spine and found I have a huge 0:20 mass on my spine compressing my spinal cord. I had a major back surgery and now recovering. Thank god for the mri and the neurosurgeon ❤

My neurosurgeon unapologetically made my back worse. After month or more I had another MRI and he casually says 'oh we will just have to operate again'. I told him 😡 After maybe over half year of further excrutiating pain, I LUCKILY found the most amazing chiropractor (an old school friend) and he laughed at my 2nd MRI and said '-your back is f*cked' AND that the 2nd MRI was far worse than the first. He did a lot of therapy on me to release my muscle fatigue etc and then limited manipulations -esp also to help the blood to flow freely again (most of it for free so definitely nothing superfluous). Two years later after being terrified of even using the stairs so scared I would jolt my back, I was back playing hockey and even marshal art again... The right exercises to strengthen and SUPPORT ones back is also SO important...💃

If the "sciatica" is localised in the butt cheek, and if the straight leg raise test is negative, then it's probably piriformis syndrome, in which case the cure would be to stretch and strengthen the hips, especially the opposite hip that the pain is on. The gluteus maximus and medius typically need to be strengthened, whilst the piriformis needs to be relaxed via hip external and internal rotation stretches.

Hi Dr. Berg! Thank you for all of the great info you provide on your channel. I got injured at the gym and it triggered sciatica, which I haven’t dealt with in years! It’s the worst case I ever had, pain in the buttock, lower back, hamstring and fire in my calf. After 2 days of this misery I saw your video, remembered that I have a large copper bracelet and put it around my ankle. It felt like the pain was getting worse but after about 20 minutes I felt muscles contracting like they were loosening up. I felt it in all of the 3 aforementioned areas. Then… the pain started to subside and I fell asleep. I almost slept the whole night but I changed positions and I started hurting again for a very short while, it left and I was able to get up and walk my dog! Thanks so much!!

I've a chair which I sit on extended periods which now doesn't have that cushy softness anymore. It's quite painful like sitting on a board and fast forward a few months then this issue of mild pain in the nerve of left hip (lower near buttock) then a sharp pain on my left foot sole (the middle part) when I walk. It's odd but I could understand why it happened.
I didn't make any major diet changes, i write this comment so that you may check if it's the chair or sitting longer hours on one side (leaning) is the problem and get that more comfortable to maybe lessen the pain.

Hi, I am so sorry you are going through this horrible pain. I know this pain very well I have it on both legs! It started on one foot then the other. The first time I got it on my left feet I could not walk for 5 .5 months. It was the most painful and depressing time of my life. I cried everyday because of the excruciating pain. I would not wish this on anyone. I saw Chiro, Accupuncture and Physio docs and did not get any relief from this pain. What helped me is the B vitamins and I think rubbing Castor oil on my legs every night. It's messy but it helps I feel little better after using it for 2 week everyday. I am still using it hope it goes away soon. I will try what Dr Berg suggests here in this video, he is the best. Good luck on your healing journey. 🙏🏻

As always, very good advice by Dr.Berg.
Have HAD 'severe' sciatica for several years. (have diagnosed spinal 'stenosis' via MRI.) but not a candidate for surgery due to other medical reasons.
My solution that has 'relieved' my sciatica was to "restore" my posture and 'shape/curve' of my lower spine by the semi-constant use of an orthodpedic lumbar pillow - a semi circular foam pillow at about 4" maximum with a 'belly strap'. I use it for sitting (never slouching!!), when driving my vehicle, and sleeping. The 'posture' restoration has releived my siciatica by 95+%.
I also self medicate with alpha-Lipoic acid, bio-available B-Complex & magnesium(taurate). Plus, I had my primary care physician prescibe a total vitamin and mineral, etc. blood testing - and then corrected most all apparent deficiencies. My Copper 'balance' was OK, as I eat a lot of shellfish - mussels, etc. . Most healthcare insurance will pay for such detailed blood testing ... under their 'wellness and PREVENTION'' portion of their policies.
The discussion of 'balance' of micro-nutrients, etc., I feel, is very and vitally important -- worked for me, as I am slowly and determinedly returning towards being an active life-long 'extreme athlete', even at my 'advanced' age !!!!!

And the copper bracelets that you mentioned are also worn by many. It is highly recommended as per Ayurveda. However, doctors trained in allopathy or western medicine often caution against excessive use of copper vessels as it may lead to Wilson's disease.

I won't go into detail, but it was bad, debilitating & painful. I lost so much because I couldn't work during times of extreme pain. I fixed myself in 3 weeks. How? I stopped eating wheat. Completely stopped. That was in 2012. I've not had one back pain since then & I stopped grinding my teeth. BTW, I was 15 in 1972... which happened to be the same year that modernized wheat was unleashed upon an unsuspecting public. It is hazardous to those that consume it. There should be a warning label on all products that contain wheat.

You can even place a strip of copper overnight in the water storage container so all you need to do is to clean the small strip of copper with lemon or tamarind - eases up your maintenance greatly.

Wow, fascinating. I just had bloodwork done and they told me I’m copper deficient. I woke up with sciatica this morning. I’m also on 50mg of DHEA prescribed by my Doctor for low hormones. Wow, this was so informative. I love you Dr. Berg! You are helping me so much with all my issues. I’m reading your book now and just ordered a bunch of your supplements. I want to give back since you have helped me when my own doctors just shove me out the door. Thank you!

I believe that a lot of these issues related to back pain may be related to the quality of your sleep mattress. It would be interesting to hear Dr. Bergs thoughts on this and any suggestions he may have.

What I like about Dr. Berg is he is a true scientist. He may not be in the research setting he needs to be in but compared to regular doctors who don't even listen he is far better. All doctors should be scientists. It started out this way. This is why they get PhDs. The first trait a scientist needs is the power of observation and ability to listen. I don't see this in most doctors. They only seem to like to hear themselves talk and all they really are is True Believers in what they were taught in whatever medical school they went to and so they are Repeaters of that information and never ever actually do experiments themselves or research themselves.
