  • We found metal in our oil filter from our first oil change after only 600 miles! Have a look and comment what you think! Should we be worried? Is this normal break in metal debris or is it a sign of a larger problem?

      @@THEDriverMod_ I wouldn't imagine a high speed cut off wheel would introduce particles into the filter at all right. What the heck do I know...

      @JBWHITEGT not that far into the pleats, on the top plate of the inner cannister sure but not where I was looking

    Is the engine having issues. I'm guessing No oil pressure or engine noise issues. I believe the New Gen 4 Coyote is a solid engine. If you reviewed your owners manual. You'll discover Ford's break in mileage for high speed driving, aggressive shifting and heavy braking is 1000 miles. Dragstrip at 500 miles is a little early.
    FYI. From Blackstone lab. Instead if using a grinder or hacksaw. Use a filter cutter that cleanly cuts the robust steel housing without producing metal shavings that might find their way onto the filter pleats you are about to examine. Yes. Using a grinder can contaminate the filter.

    Maybe it's not the best idea to take it to the track 2 days after purchasing it, all you can do is drive normal and check again if it gets better

      It'll be alright. It's not exactly a special orhigh strung engine. I'll check again after the next oil change.

    If there is no copper in the pleats or metal at the bottom of the filter housing you are good to go. However like others have stated you should use a filter cutter, that would eliminate the possibility of metal contamination. Those chunks looked like casting flash from the block that happened to come loose, if you saw the bare block you would be amazed at how rough they are machined. De burring a block goes a long way.

    Why you don’t take a new car to the drag strip 2 days later. I am being careful with mine but I plan to keep it for a while

      @THEDriverMod_  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Mehhhh, that probably had nothing to do with it honestly, it's just a 5.0, nothing special of an engine. They come pretty well broken in from the factory
