    I actually had a chance to try it out before ya made the vid, i can definitely vouch for ya, this shit makes the blow off valve work sooooooooooooooo much better, throttle response feels way more responsive, also, for anybody wanting to try this, reset your ecu by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 15 mins, drive regularly for about 15-20km, and that'll give the car a nice little refresh and it will learn your new driving data. My car runs very, very smooth now.

    • @Nickjoenap
      @Nickjoenap  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I made this video a few months ago and after driving with it for a while it’s sooo much better. No more annoying blow off valve noise every time I let off the throttle and I get more turbo flutter. It also felt a little faster but not sure if it actually is or not

    • @Nickjoenap
      @Nickjoenap  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Siye Boss yeah but it’s not enough in this situation to do much damage since it will release the pressure if it gets high enough

    Nice video. I've ran the vacuum off the manifold with a TurboSmart 50/50 for about a year now. A little bit of flutter when under vacuum or light driving instead of it going off all the time. Well worth it if you have an aftermarket BOV. It may be necessary to adjust the BOV's spring preload a little to make sure it is still shut at idle and goes off how you like it.

    Just a thought, but wouldn't you want the hoses to be resistant to oil blowby? Silicone, while fine with coolant, isn't the best for oil. Ofc you could get around this by having a catch can, but otherwise keep in mind that there will be some oil contact with the vaccum hose.

    So you prefer thd compressor surge sound over the bov whoosh sound? Bc you're getting a sound no matter which way you do it. Compressor surge is unhealthy for your turbo while the bov whoosh is healthy for the turbo. But to each it their own.

      Wrong , compressor surge under load is bad for your turbo, Since the flutter here is under no boost it’s poses no real risk to the turbine. If you fluttered after a full boost pull it would be bad, but this is under vacuum

    • @ReaganReese
      @ReaganReese 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This might be me just talking out of my behind, but I think that if flutter is happening without real positive pressure, it can't be that damaging or anything. I reckon if you had flutter on boost, that is a ton more force on that turbo, but that's not what we're seeing or hearing in this video.. These cars factory have slight flutter already, albeit on barely touching the gas, but it's there.
      And lets say we do kill the turbo, then we just upgrade it for a big one! Perfectly justifiable! ; )

  • @oaktown7509
    @oaktown7509 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So what does this really do for the car? What improvements were there besides BOV sounds and also isn’t the flutter bad for turbo haha

    • @Nickjoenap
      @Nickjoenap  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The flutter would be bad for the turbo if the car had a really tight bov or didn’t have one at all. The flutter only happens under little load and is t really a big deal. Obviously it’s not great for the turbo but it’s not going to cause damage if you don’t abuse it. The real benefit is the bov doesn’t vent when it doesn’t need to and it will supposedly hold a little more boost this way. The stock one is electronically controlled so it releases way to often

  • @FriendlyMxdder

    • @Nickjoenap
      @Nickjoenap  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It goes through the turbo which makes the flutter sound on the wheel of the turbo. Normally it would be bad for the turbo if it was under high boost pressure but since it’s routed to true vacuum it only does it when it’s under low boost and rpm. It only does this when you are trying to though. With normal driving the bov doesn’t open fully but still lets out the pressure so it’s a lot quieter since you aren’t building as much boost

    • @Nickjoenap
      @Nickjoenap  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joseph Medina There’s a chance something could be wrong, just make sure the hoses attach at the same points and you cap it where I did. It’ll still make a pshhh noise when under a decent amount of boost, it’s just a little softer and quieter. The flutter only happens when letting off after building boost in low rpm. Check your boost gauge to make sure you’re building boost and it’s releasing the pressure after letting off

      dtfreshh the flutter doesn’t happen a lot. If you rev it with the hood open or build boost and let off the throttle under 2500 rpm in 3rd or higher it flutters. You’ll need at least an aftermarket intake filter with the cover removed to hear it. A full intake will help and removing the sound deadening under the hood helps the flutter be louder too
