    Had to subscribe, got the same bike and gp slip on, will be moving to full system eventually. Hope to see more from you! Might also have questions in the future.

    If it’s like my 2015 there might be a little plastic knob on the side of the bike under the frame that you can actually twist by hand to turn the idle up

    19:10 is about the only time he gets on the throttle. Sounds really good. What is the top out for this bike after the exhaust? I have a 2021 636 and looking at putting this full exhaust on it. I currently top out at 156. Solid video man!

      Thank you. I haven’t had a chance to top it out yet. Every time I try, something gets in my way. I’ve had it up to 146 at one point before having to let off the throttle. But it was still climbing. Keep in mind that I also have the Power Commander as well. So that’s another variable to consider.

    You might have to raise the idle when I first bought my Zx6r is used to do it when I came to a stop while riding but dealer raised the idle and it fixed it.

      You can raise the idle yourself in two seconds while sitting at a stop light. The knob is on the left side.

    Question: I’m installing a M4 GP19 slip-on onto my 2021 ZX-6r and I’ll be eliminating the cat-converter along with adding the servo buddy. With that being said, is a flash needed? Does it ruin the bike in any way if I go without doing this? Lmk! Thanks.

    • @mcrockett8884
      @mcrockett8884  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, if all you’re doing is installing a slip-on, then you’re not eliminating the cat, unless you’re also installing an aftermarket set of header pipes with a different collector pipe. A common misconception is to think that the cat is that giant box that sits in front of the rear wheel, but it’s not. Kawasaki refers to that as the muffler pre-chamber, but there is no honeycomb inside that box. The cat is further forward in the section of the header assembly that collects everything down to one pipe, just before it goes into the pre-chamber. Look inside that pipe and you’ll see the honeycomb.
      To answer your question, if all you’re doing is installing a slip-on, you don’t necessarily NEED a flash. But even if you were to do nothing to your bike, I recommend either getting a flash, or at the very least, installing a Power Commander V. Coming from the manufacturer, the ECU is programmed to starve the bike of fuel that it needs to run at optimal performance. They do this according to government standards to be able to sell the bike. But if you ARE deleting the cat, then you absolutely need to be doing one of the two things I recommended. Will it hurt the bike to run it without the tune? Probably not. But I wouldn’t take it to the track until it’s tuned.
      If you’re deleting the cat, you’ll also need to replace the OEM air filter with something that performs better and allows more air flow. If the flow out is improved, the flow in needs to be also. If you’re not deleting the cat, this is optional.
      But whatever you do, you need to tune to your specifications. And if after you tune you change anything to the intake our outflow, you should tune again to compensate.

    Is that the full system or just the slip on?

    Hey, been having the same issue where if I'm in neutral or my clutch lever is pulled and I blip my throttle the bike's RPM are dropping almost killing it (sometimes succeeds) My bike has been dyno tuned and flashed, supposed to head back to my tuner this week and have him take a look but have been looking around for some ideas. Personally I feel its probably too rich down low which is making the bike flood itself with fuel until it can get enough air but have you found anything out?

    • @Viverino
      @Viverino 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just to be clear with my issue: With the bike in neutral or the clutch lever pulled in, if I blip the throttle my RPMs will rise but then drop way past my normal idle of 1300 to almost under 1k which sometime kills the bike.

    • @mcrockett8884
      @mcrockett8884  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. I might try adjusting the AFR down below 1500 RPMs to see if that does anything when I get a chance.

    Just purchased the same setup for my 2022, what flash would you recommend? If it’s a new bike I want everything to be professional. Is there any other mods that you would throw on a brand new bike? I will not be installing anything (engine wise) until after 800 miles still in break in period.

    How much louder is the full system as opposed to just the m4 slip on?

    • @mcrockett8884
      @mcrockett8884  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn’t know for sure, as I don’t have a ZX-6R with just the slip-on. However, with the slip-on, you’re still eliminating the muffler box. So it will still be dang loud. The only thing you’re not eliminating with the slip-on is the catalytic converter, which sits slightly forward from the muffler box. I imagine that the cat dampens the sound a little, but not a lot. So I assume that the slip-on will still be almost as loud as the full system.

    • @maxgregg3769

      @@maxgregg3769 this isn’t the slip on version. This is the full system. The full system deletes the cat, of course. However, the slip on version of this muffler does not delete the cat.

    I'd caution against a power commander unless you're actually going to the track. It's really unnecessary on the street and often introduces issues, just like you experienced in the video.
