      You're welcome. The commercialism has ended my viewing of many channels. I'll watch Bandit and Soybean farmer and the other small farmer channels. I don't give two wet farts about how much money some channels loose while demoing new paint.

      @@boehmfarm4276 I totally agree. I'm sick of these rich farmers showing off their multi-million dollar farming operations or showing off their new toys that the sponsors give them to play with. They are all just one big commercial.

    My hat's off to you for running and maintaining the old Harvester equipment,most farmers would call you a fool and laugh at you.I recently saw a large frame JD 4wd completely disassembled at a dealership for a drivetrain malfunction,that 2+2 looks simple compared to it.

    Awesome video my friend. Last time I talked to you, you were worried about editing. You did a great job editing. Looks like a job but looks like your doing it correctly. Nice video. I have been through several TA's and one on a 2+2. They are different for sure. Make sure you shim the ta when you go back together. Make sure you spend the money for a good ta and make sure you use it often. Not using it is as bad as abusing it. Look forward to seeing it all together and being used. You have my respect my friend to be taking on a project like that. Careful with the front end. Make sure you have some kind of support structure. None of that stuff is worth getting hurt over. I have seen them split at the dealer but they had a rail system in the floor and a "kit" to bolt onto it. You have to do the best with what you have. Again just be careful..........

    • @boehmfarm4276
      @boehmfarm4276  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@boehmfarm4276 I think you will be ok. I know it is going to hurt your pocketbook but if I was that far into it I wouldn't skimp on the rebuild. If I found it I would (if parts are available) fix it. The splines in the drive shafts appear to have a good amount of wear. This is a common wear item in an articulated tractor. I once worked for a farmer who had 2 of the 8630 articulated Deere machines and we had to replace both the pto and main shafts in both of them. We ran 32 foot equipment and both were turned up so it was to be expected. Yours on the other hand won't take that kind of abuse. What I am getting at is if you replace it now you will know what you have. That tractor should last you a good long time.

      Well, they were a ROW CROP tractor, not a 4x4. I think the articulated pattern got everybody thinking "it's a mini 4x4, can do the work of a 4x4" and they really weren't meant to handle that, and wouldn't hold up to it. Guys used them the wrong way for the wrong stuff and their reputation suffered because of it. There was nothing really wrong with the IDEA, it's just that the parts (like final drives) were basically at the top end of what they could handle as it was-- they should have designed it with way heavier parts LIKE a 4x4, so that when it was used like a 4x4 it would have held up like a 4x4. Later! OL J R :)

    Jacob would you please define what the term T A means ? I hear it quite often when people talk about tractors , as for the video as always it’s very interesting and enjoyable thanks for posting it best of luck with this rebuild on your 2+2 .

      International had a "torque anplifier" feature hence the acronym TA. Oliver had a high/low and Deere had a quad range and I think Ford had a "dual power". They were all features to be able to split gears so to speak. Can't remember what Allis Chalmers had. Think I got it right...........

    Replacing the TA while your in there is like pulling a radiator and replacing old fan belts. Your stupid if you don’t. Also also get that starter rebuilt because with farmer luck it won’t start because of it once you get it together and out of the shop lol

    You may never see it but the person that sold you the tractor will pay for what he has done. We may never see the wrath of GOD but what is done in the dark will be brought to light. That has already been promised.

      What did he do? Sell a well used tractor at a bargain basement price?? Didn't advertise everything that could be wrong with it?? Unethical, maybe, depending on one's definition, BUT there IS such a thing as "buyer beware"... caveat emptor. It'd be different if he advertised it as in perfect shape and field ready in every respect, and sold it for absolute top dollar, KNOWING that it wasn't. The guy probably knew about the clutch which is why he decided to sell it, figured it was getting soft and going to be needing replaced and decided to unload it for what he could get for it. Might have suspected the first gear wasn't in the best shape, but didn't really know one way or the other. It ran, it moved, it shifted, and he sold it at a bargain price, so you kinda get what you pay for... course just because you pay top dollar doesn't mean you're getting something in top condition. Just how it works. Every time you buy something, you're taking that chance. Just how it goes. OL J R :)
