That is criminal for your employer to charge you for damage while you were working. I understand the situation, I was a dealer mechanic for years and only bumped one car and they took care of it immediately with no expense to me. I also understand this is a work truck so they will be used as such no big deal, it is the ones that leave a bunch of trash and garbage that made me irritated. I hope Ford has this fixed by now, this truck only had 22k on it so it was not the operator's fault at all.
I have an 18 that sometimes has a slight hesitation from 1-3 which happens when cold, harsh clunk whenswitching from d to r repeatedly and finally when going like 70 and go full throttle jerks hard into 6th. Any suggestions, have extended warranty but all advisors do is flash it
There's a TSB Ford will follow. Since it's been programmed already, they take the valve body apart and clean it. If it still does it, replace the internal CDF drum
ive got an f350 2021.. started having rough shifts on gears 1-5.. but the worst thing its doing is at highway speeds while im in 7th-10th gear the truck will stop having any power like its in neutral, i put the pedal all the way pressed but the engine does not rev up at all, then after a few seconds of nothing happening itll slam into gear and the wrench will show up. turning the truck off and on the wrench goes away until it happens again.. any idea?
Check to see what code is stored. Hopefully it's a throttle body code, but if you have transmission codes it may end up being a cdf drum issue. Code P07F7 points toward a drum issue
My truck has been doing the same exact thing. I have a company vehicle so I don’t use my truck that much. It has been doing this for a couple of months. 80,000 miles 2018. What should be an average charge for someone to fix the cdf drum? Thanks for the video. I’ve been searching for problems
charging u for hitting that truck is BS, on my first week i damaged a rental truck and a customer truck pretty bad and the service manager just said "thanks for not trying to hide it" and i never heard a peep about it after that. know it doesnt relate much to the vid but just thought i would give my 2 cents
My 2018 has 35,080 miles and in for transportation repair. Even though it's out of 3 year 36,000 miles warranty, I was LUCKY enough to get ford extended warranty which is getting ready to run out in 30 days. I may pay to extend for another 3 years, considering all the crap wrong with these trucks. I'm going to replace starter myself after the tranny repair with ford oem. Hard start after 2 hours towing 4500 lb camper even though I have 7500 tow packages. If I thought I could get decent trade in I'd be looking at 2 to 3 year old Toyota with tow pack. But iv had couple dealers , in casual conversation, say these ford problems make less desirable for good money in trade. Always been ford guy NOT ANY MORE!. My truck paid for, not really interested in more truck payments. Ford should really step up and support their customers. Wouldn't be surprised if they file bankruptcy protection within next 3 years. They won't be getting federal money for EV development by then. Lol
I took my truck to the shop to get it fixed 1 week later i got it back and then it happend again Its been at ford dealership for 2 weeks now They have to loan me a car right? Or can sue lol
If my employee was too sorry to keep the truck clean, hes too sorry to do a quality job. I'd be livid.
Yeah.. I couldn't believe the condition it was in! Thanks for watching!
customer beats that truck like a redheaded stepchild, holy sheepshit
Lol!
I fire guys who keep my trucks like this.
Yeah it’s not that hard. Driving a company truck is a privilege not a right.
Keep up the good work

Thanks for watching. I agree. I still work there. And yeah there's a redesigned CDF drum. Cleaning the valve body wouldn't have fixed this one.

@@BigBensCarsAndCycles appreciate it, now to try to get dealer to actually do that.
@Hexstylee3 if the tech likes money, they'd be a fool to not fix it 😀
Get rid of it. They are junk transmissions. I'm on my 3rd
67,00 on my 2018 and had the fluid and filter changed at 41,000 as per recommendation from a local Mennonite shop
1,022,000🤣. Mine is 62K and have the same issue. This should be a recall but Ford has bent the customer over for a nice $6000 fix.
Lol I bet it did have 1 mil. It was so rough. And yes there should be an extended 100k mile coverage on the cdf

Just had the exact same problem shitting in 3rd gear and now my 10th gear doesn’t work going to the dealership soon to figure it out
Did you ever fix ?
@@CasperTheFriendlyGhost777 yes, new transmission unfortunately

Hi, that should cost $5,000-$7500 to replace the cdf drum. Or $10,000 for a new transmission with better warranty
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles Thank you for your help and response. Labor included?

Thanks, glad they didn't charge you. Stuff happens sometimes.
wow that wear is nuts for the miles
Absolutely! I couldn't believe it.
Do these drums normally fail early? My 2020 has 73k miles and no issues yet
Most of the ones I do have under 50k miles
My 2020 f150 just failed at 73k miles, already replaced the transmission once

Your not supposed to turn the wheel all the way until it’s binds up the electronic power steering gears
This is why you can’t trust mechanics
Yeah we're clueless 👍
It’s called work and the tech is a conplainer

I don't believe they're obligated to give a loaner car. It may depend on the dealer.
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles thank you
File a lemon law claim before you attempt to sue them...
The trans is trash im on my 3rd factory replacement. On theyre dollar. Next I'm just going to have it built at a speed shop.
Company doe sent pay you to clean the vehicle, thats your time! So job dictates cleanliness!
