Great video that really delved into the topic on hand. Short and concise for any new or current F-150 owner. I have almost exclusively been a GM owner for SUVs and Trucks for over 15 years but also have have foreign sports cars. I was modding trucks well in the early 2000’s. I learned a lot about the F-150 and its features from your video. Great work and thank you for sharing.
5 things Ford owners might now know about their trucks. 1. you can do work with it 2. The bed is for hauling things that won't fit in a car. Gravel, furniture, dirt bikes,etc... 3. You can do some offroading/ camping 4. When you practice backing a trailer correctly that knob behind the steering wheel is pointless. 5. You can use the step in the tailgate as a makeshift toilet
My 2017 Lincoln Contenintal also has a cup holder key emergency start for weak or dead battery key fob. Can fob in cup holder and start car. When warming up in winter and close cup holder cover and no one can see key. Also, I can set driving modes and select kilometers or MPH speed. odometer. With sport transmission, manual paddles, and set comfort levels, all included on base models also
If you lend your truck and folks are going to take a small utility trailer to the lumberyard or dump the trouble of calibrating the backup is more than paid back by them not jackknifing the little invisible trailer tucked in behind. Mostly because the gas pedal is muted or very limited by that backup helper.
Another nice feature ive found in my 2019 xlt , pushing track control turns on, clicking it twice is advanced track and holding it for 5 seconds is sport track mode
I have a 2019 STX 2.7 2WD and only had one, the drive modes. Many of the features he mentions are package specific. There are several sub packages wirhin each line.
Hey when you change the UI on the infotainment screen does it stay that way until you decide to change it back or does it go back to the original UI look after a few key cycles? Thanks.
I have a 2018 XLT 2WD. My console is different from yours. I cant lock mine. Plus mine isnt pushbutton, it needs the physical key. Also my center screen isnt as nice as yours. But that snow/wet setting really works @ProfessorMikee
Mike, hoping you or someone can answer my question. I have a 2018 F150 XLT FX4 with the 10-speed tranny and the 3.5 eco. My question is, can you shift between drive modes (normal, tow/haul, snow/wet, eco, sport) while the truck is moving, or do you need to be stopped to do it? For example, if I am going 40 -50 mph can I change the drive mode from normal to sport without stopping?
Anybody ever had mechanic tell you your rear brakes were wearing out faster than your front brakes? Reason. Traction control system applies rear brakes as needed to limit rear tire slipping. When I found that out, I turn off my Traction control unless roads are wet _ice
My '16 doesn't have this option to my knowledge, but specific F150's have an option where you unlock the truck, then hold the button, and the tailgate will drop. Another...again, not on my '16 where you can hit the unlock twice and hold, and both front windows will come down. I'd imagine some of these features will depend on the 'options' of your model.
I have a 2016 with a small screen, shift on the column, no hole under the cup holder but "tow haul" activates engine braking going down hill and locks out the 2 overdrives on the 6 speed transmission.
If only there was like a book or something that had all this information and more in it given to you when you purchased the truck and placed in the glove box.
There's also a hidden feature that will put it into maintenance or engineer mode. It will usually show up on your gates cluster in the center. It shows things like battery voltage, etc. There's also a hack for all trucks that will temporarily reset the pedal tension for better throttle response based on driving habits. Just thought I would add that little tidbit to your already informative video 😁👉
@@pzroclanthere is no reset to the peddle tension, it’s set from the factory, with bolts, there’s no computer hack that will change that. I personally think messing with your pedals is a horrible idea, what if they lose connection? Dead in the water. Just put your foot down if you want better throttle response.
@@evanoldhoff4904you are wrong. It’s computer controlled. You reset the throttle pressure sensor. It will readjust the throttle tension. Everything is computer control now.
Hi mike you seem to have quite a bit of knowledge on the F150. I hope you will read me, in fact I am in France and I bought an F150 which was imported to me, it is a 2016 FX4 Lariat finish with extended bed. I love this truck, I hardly drive more than that :). In short, I noticed that it is equipped with the electric motor fixed on the steering column and also with the camera integrated into the windshield but since it is not the Platinum version I do not have the button above of the screen which allows to activate the lane keeping function and also the options on the edge screen are not present and the function seems deactivated. Do you think it would be possible to activate the function at the software level and that I add a button to allow the use of lane keeping? Thank you so much
So I have never seen lane keeping on any kind of f150 or any ford product in general, sorry unable to answer that question, I wish I had a better answer for you
Something may not be working correctly when I change the theme on my F-150 display. I did it once and the next time I got in the truck, the old "standard" theme was back. Today, I changed it again, but after shutting the ignition off and coming back to the truck later, it's back to the standard theme again. Is there a way to lock the new theme once you change it?

You're Ford is not the base model, I have a 2018 F150 that is far more basic than yours. But personally, I think I like Chevy's better. Ford has all of these stupid electronic options while Chevy is far more simple, as far as trailor mode, etc. But my main bitch is my F150 2018 does not have an amp meter or voltmeter, whatever you want to call it, to monitor whether the alternator is working or not. I mean of all things to delete on a vehicle, and then add this stupid stuff you are talking about instead, makes no sense to me. Because when the alternator goes out, there is not even a warning light to let you know. You find out about it, when some electrical stuff starts shutting down, and at that point have maybe 5 miles left on a dead battery, and pretty quick the electrical assist on the power steering shuts down, also. I know this because I just had it happen to me on my F150. My 2016 Silverado, still has a gage still right on the dash, that can be monitored at a glance, all of the time, just like most every vehicle ever made for a hundred years before. Even my brother in Law's heavy duty 3/4 ton Ford does not have the volt meter, like the older trucks used to have. This is so stupid. What computer geek or engineer, decided that that this was a good idea, and instead give us, a bunch of less important electronical gadgets in it's place.?
There is a little light in the shape of a battery that comes on if you are not charging. But yea-I miss volt meters too. In my old truck I had a volt meter that sticks in the 12v socket so I just chuck that in the glove box. It was 8$ on eBay.
@@nicholaspicel3838 Well, that little light must not work on my truck. I drained two batteries in one day, before I made it home. I have since fixed the problem. I made a nice housing to hold a volt gage and installed it on top of my dash. It works just fine, now. But it still pisses me off that Ford deleted that gage.
