Great video Josh! I wanted to add to your point of not tying the boots too tight at first when you get them. I see CR7 in training once didn’t tie his Superfly 7 at all as I’m assuming he gets it true to size and they are tight enough to stay on his feet, specially when brand new so possibly this might be a technique as well 🤔 and once they are broken in somewhat you can tie to your preference in terms of tightness. Considering how tight a boot like a Mercurial fits right outta the box I think this is an interesting technique
This is so true. I’ve been training and playing football alomkst everyday for the last 7 years. And after 3 months of me not wearing football boots, just using trainers playing in concrete I wore my boots and trained on grass, got my first blister ever

I wore a brand new pair of superfly 7 elites into a match with my u-19 academy team and I got a light blister. I have done it multiple times and I doesn’t go well, I play great but my Achilles doesn’t feel great after. The vapor 13 elite is better and I love them!

I just bought some new Nike Mercurials after switching from Adidas Predators, and this helped me a lot
Wish I listened to all your advice prior to wearing my new pair in a game. Quick question, the boots I wore have very tight outsoles. Is it possible that this is one of the reasons I tore my Achilles tendon in a game? I feel like due to the lack of flexibility of the soles, the tension went directly to my tendon. Granted, I was out of shape and played 2 games in a roll. However, I can't help but place some of the fault to the hard shoes. Thanks.

I haven't used stud's football boot's since I played for a club as a kid. Getting used to them on my feet slowly post lockdown sports.
I feel like this problem only arises for boots with soleplates (FG,AG,SG), because I once wore a brand new turf shoe for a match and it felt perfectly fine.
THE HARD PLATE REALLY DOES STIFFEN THE BOOT

Im having trouble with digging in on just the left foot..
Another thing that helps is wearing your boots at practice with 2 socks...they are soft already and the extra volume softens them even more, also proper maintenance softens and preserves the fit...at least it always worked on my copa and puma king i used for 26 years

I've seen many pros steam their boots and i've never seen any of them have massive problems with the material splitting or sole plate coming off.
Lol I also walk around with them in my house that’s my main thing to do also I like standing on top of them like for 5 min but just on heel part!

Hey Josh I just bought the Future DNA Mercurial Vapor 13 in my typical size which I wore for Superfly 5’s and 6’s but for some reason these boots are a little more tight fitting and narrower. Is this just because I have not broken them in or is this how the Vapor 13 is like ? I find that the area around the toe box is quite crammed for me compared to previous Vapor models.
Vapor is is very narrow design and is a tight fit! People with bigger can wear them but there's better fit options out there I'm a size 10 and I love my mercurial with my life and haven't switched them for ages cause I love everything about them but don't by a boots because it's the best buy a boot for comfort! But to your question your mercurial will be narrow and breaking them in will take time! Using hot water might help them break quicker or wearing them around the house be wary for slipping though!

I actually have a problem with new football boots studs....i havs the new NIKE TIEMPO 8 ACADEMY... I'm a mid-fielder...its good the control,the touch everything..but i have one problem and that is...i can't really swing the ball, becoz if i swing the ball the studs stuck on the groud...its a big problem for me as Tournaments are near. Please give me any suggestions or solutions.

Just got them absolutely amazing but that’s because they feel like they were made for my foot in terms of the shape. Quality is also exceptional tho and love how they look!

Imo, basically you have to try varies boots that (by right) suits you. Eg, for my own play style and position, i always go for predator, mania, absolute, ace 16.1, and freak, i loves them all but i always have 1 problem, my carve get tighten and soreness after an hour, specially when restarting the game after 15min rest. I thought it was nothing uncommon, until i finally tried Tiempo 9 legend recently, i dont feel that at all, even until full 90min, yes im still getting use to the adjustment of getting less trust (because of the predators surface) on the tiempo during ball contact, but it does give me 90min of full comfort which i wasnt expected from nike, at all, it was a mind blown tbh. Let just say u are able to try those like what Josh mentioned, but somehow the different is that youre not sitting/chillin wearing the boots, you run, or jogg most of the time. So like me, i suggest if you are willin to spend for boots probably one every ..2 years? U might want to go for same type of boots but different brand, you might somehow find THE ONE. Tricks does helped abit here and there but i would say try to find the best pair for your leg

Just got Vapor 13 Pro MDS2 AG and feel my heel slip a very little bit on heel liner, is that normal? Also heel feels a bit shallow. Have X18.2 & they fit perfect
That's not a common complaint that I've heard or experienced.
Do the x 19.1s fg have better traction on ag than the merc ag stud pattern you think jacques?
Neither offer "better" traction on AG. Artificial grass will grip any stud pattern really well, so there isn't much separation from one stud pattern to the next in regards to overall grip. It's having too much grip that's the issue, which is typically where a true AG stud pattern is better on artificial grass.

I"m a big fan of the Preds, but I much prefer the 20.1. If it were between the 20+ and the Venoms, I'd prefer the Venom. Both are really good boots though, just different.
