I think you are focusing a lot on getting that hop before kicking whereas Jorginho actually jumps and uses the airtime as a delayed shot to see if the goalkeeper commits to which side. You were focusing on the ball when jumping whereas Jorginho is looking at the goalkeeper.

    • @Empowerment_avenue750

    • @Jorology

I am totally agree with it. I personally feel it a lot easier to take a penalty while jumping before hitting the ball, because I just wait for the keeper to commit to either one of the sides and then I just shoot to the opposite side. I have mastered this technique and my penalty conversion rate is a lot higher now. So yeah, I think this myth is true based on personal experience.

if u dont look at the keeper mid air while doing the jump u will as in this vid place the ball in a corner u chose beforehand thus making it an easier save if the keeper guessed the right corner or it will make it impossible to save since the keeper is moving in the opposite direction however this is valid if the keeper reacts to the jump by moving to the side he thinks the pen taker has chosen. When u look at goalie as bruno fernades does u will probably gain info which side the keeper chose to jump so you can decide where to place it with the keeper jumping the other way(fernandes pen against watford 19/20 season and many more examples).if the keeper composes himself to not even flinch then u gain no intel and u lost momentum to kick the ball harder thus making it a bit more easy for the keeper(missed pen by bruno against newcastle for example).

For the hot water myth, I think some reasons why you got it busted.
    1. When you soak it in warm water and then leaving it overnight, of course, it would shrink.
    2. You should have soaked the boots only, after that wear it until it is cooling down, moulding the boots to your feet even better.
I used to do it for my rugby boots. It worked as I did it like in no. 2. It fits better to my legs and the shape of my legs. This is also what we always do with our mouthguard to get better mould. If you leave it until it cools down, of course, the moulding wouldn't take shape. The myth works, for me at least. However, some people said it is not good for the longevity of the boots. Athletes did it, no problem. They could afford or sponsored a pair of new boots for every game.

    • @whoppers2
      @whoppers2 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

I would say soaking the boots in hot water depends on the boot material; back in the day boots were leather and would definitely stretch and mold to your feet but youre supposed to soak the boots on your feet then while theyre still wet go play in them and they stretch and mold to your foot further. The boots that are made of synthetic materials i wouldn't think would benefit from soaking in water.

I have wider feet and soaking for 10 minutes in hot water, putting newspaper or small towels on the inside and letting dry overnight, then put them back on the next morning always works for me. It doesnt work if you dont put something on the inside to soak up moisture or use any outside heat. I know people use it to soften boots, but I think it doesnt help unless you have wider feet to help stretch the boots to fit better

The jumping penelty isn´t about accuracy, it´s about making the goali show which corner he/ she choose so you can quickly chose the opposite corner the goali is going to jump to, Lewandowski is pretty good at that and did it at his last penelty in the league.

Who remember that power house kick from way out on the pitch from Roberto Carlos? That kick was a straight run up and because of the level of power behind the ball i guess that's how it manages to generate so much curve. He also scored something similar like that in a match against Jamaica.

With the boots in hot water. It will only work on leather boots, synthetic aren’t supposed to change. Like when you’re playing in the rain. Leather boots become much heavier and synthetic don’t.

For the hot water myth, it works better on leather boots. I used it sometimes and just got my boots wet with some cold water when I use my Adidas Predators and it did work, but instead of making it a more comfortable fit, I wanted it to be a tighter fit because then the ball would get more contact with my foot because the boot was gripped around my foot so I cold get a harder hit

    • @callmepin69

The tighter fit for me is super useless lol, my feet grow like crazy and every few months I outgrow a pair. Even during my first season I outgrew the pair mid season

You could’ve tested the Ronaldo’s boots thing a bit better if I’m being honest. You were supposed to dip then in hot water and then wear them and walk around or kick a ball about so it moulds into the shape of your foot. Just having them on for a while won’t do much as while wearing them you probably would’ve noticed that the feel a bit loose around ur foot (which is what your basically trying to fix) you’d also notice a bigger difference if you were actually playing as that would help you judge if it the boot feels more flexible and less stiff than normal.

Kieran, next time please do if you add more rubber to the boot, if it gives better grip because adidas has started doing that in their predators but I want you to take it to the extreme like adding a big and good amount of rubber all through the boot and test your dribbling and control and shooting.

To test the vaseline goalkeeper grip, do what ChrisMD tested for the 100 pounds gloves. Put the ball on your hand horizontally, and then slowly tilt your hand until the ball falls off. The angle on which it fell shows the grip
