For fully powering over USB and loading the battery at the same time, you need a source that has at least "PD 9V 3A".
    Also there is a simple rule for h264 and h265: If a codec has 4:2:0 it's always h265. If it is 4:2:2, it's h264.
The reason is that h265 has a better compression but most computers can not run h265 in 4:2:2. The typical graphic cards on PCs have 4:2:0 support but not 4:2:2 and if the processor has to decode it, it's not running smooth. Panasonic still tries to avoid h265 but if high compression is needed, they have to use it.
A typical home-PC can work with h265 in 4:2:0 because typical gaming graphic cards can do that. On corporate PCs you may get into trouble because if they don't have h265 support, it won't work - especially if you want to run the original 6k open gate footage.

The integrated graphcis inside Intel CPUs after 12th gen (included) supports hardware decoding h265 footages, so if anyone have decent CPUs (like i'm using a i9-13900H laptop with iGPU) they should try out editing the h265 footages in DaVinci Resolve Studio, which runs hardware decoding and it rolls h265 footages like butter.
And I'm also switching from 4:2:2 to 4:2:0 since I don't find any issue with 4:2:0, there wont be a major difference as long as you're only about editing and fast color grading, not about fine screen keying or visual effects or fine color grading (not about that level), but smoother playback when editing with 4:2:0, that's where makes a difference.

I bought S5iiX as my first camera, both for photography and video shooting. Got it brand new with a discount and a gift so paid only £2389 for s5iiX + 50mm, 85mm f1.8 and 20-60mm f3.5-5.6. So far loving the power of this camer and it feels nice to know I have loads of room to grow. I appreciate you sharing knowledge about this camera gear, it's very useful for me and other Panasonic users! At what point would you recommend using ProRes or All-Intra video RAW?

Great video!! I found using the V90 card on the BMVA had some dropped frames. I think it could have been the data size and writing speed of the card weren't fast enough for what I was doing. The biggest limitation is the crops but I just purchased a Sigma 14-24 lens and I use crops to avoid changing lenses often. I shoot indoors so by changing Ibis and APSC crops I can go from from full-frame 14mm to the full-frame equivalent of 52mm if I use Apsc and High Ibis. I do not see the differences in quality but I shoot in good studio lighting V-Log 640 or 4000 Iso and do not have much noise. I am aware that Apsc supposedly has bigger noise but I do not see it. 90% of the time I shoot in full frame with Ibis on high which gives me a full frame equivalent of about 20mm - 35mm FOV with the 14 - 24 lens and I set a button to quickly go back to standard Ibis when I want the wider frame.
**If you are ok with the crop the High ibis mode is almost gimbal-like and magical. IMHO with little to no warp.
** For h265 you should have an intel CPU with Quicksync video even if you have high-end GPU or Apple M1 or higher chip

About the H265 on a PC I own a rig I built myself which has 64GB ram and a fast Ryzen 9 cpu but it's really shit at handling H265 4:2:2 Chroma so I bought a MacBook pro m1 pro base model upon recommendation and I'm so glad I did it handles H265 really well and it's way faster than my PC which cost more than twice as much, I still prefer Windows 11 to the Mac OS but I suppose you can't have everything, sadly windows emulation won't work on the new Apple silicone. Thanks for the review I have a GH5 and the ibis isn't bad at all or the amount of codecs and videocentric menus but the autofocus is shite and I'm not great at manually pulling focus, I'm not a pro so it's more of a hobby for me so I think I might wait for a GH7 as I can use the lenses I already own

I tried s5ii with a kit lens, it has very good ergonomics for its size and doesn't feel heavy at all, the grip is very comfy! I also tried Sony a7siii, which is much compact, yet it didn't feel as comfortable to hold, probably because of weight distribution

Hey man I would have some questions... I was about to buy a GH6 (don't own any mft nor full frame lenses) in order to shoot a documentary but then I saw an incredible offer for a used BMPCC6k. So I'm going for that, but I still want a Lumix as well. Does it make sense to go with the GH6 or the S5iix is a wiser investment? Because their price is basically one good lens apart... I don't even use autofocus and wanted the GH6 at first because of the CFslot (I really don't like shooting with SSD) but at this point I can shoot braw internally with the BlackMagick 6k and use sd v90 cards for the s5iix, there shouldn't be any more need for ProRes or expensive recorders... The full frame sensor could be helpful in good light. What do you think?

so frustrating. ive watchec 20 camera reviews and your all talking jiberish. why are all these videos made for the camera experts? surely they will know about these cameras already if they can understand half of what your saying. people watching these videos for the most part arnt camera experts, rendering this video useless for 90% of the people who click on this video
