I've been growing Okra for the past few years. It is amazing how much heat it can tolerate. I live in the Okanagan in British Columbia and we get 35 deg C to 40 deg C and that seems to be when the okra starts going crazy with new flowers everyday. So easy to grow. I love it oven roasted but you CANNOT wash them first. As soon as you wash them they start releasing their sliminess and they will always be gummy. If you cook them like Dr. Gundry is suggesting they are delicious. Okra also makes a great thickener for soups.
Thanks Doctor . Pl consider my suggestion . For bringing out the Best in your presentation and Worldwide spread of knowledge , please show the actual vegetable or fruit while narrating or at least their picture.
Could you be a little more specific about how to use the lemon? Is it lemon juice? At what point and how do you add it to the okra? I've never heard of mango powder. Sounds interesting though.
Dr. Gundry: Thanks for these tips! Long ago, I used to have a fabulous recipe for Okra which was a vegan "tuna-fish" style salad spread highlighting the lovely "slime nature" of okra in a very delicious way. The "slime" simply held the mixture together like mayo might do in the more traditional recipe. Long story short, I lost this outrageously fabulous recipe and no one seems to recall when it was popular, as there are now other items used to mock tuna in the vegan community, and people in the keto or health communities generally don't like okra to develop or discover great okra recipes. Might you or your staff know of the recipe or how to find it?
You can potentially catch the virus through sex. If you receive oral sex from a person with HSV-1, there's a risk that the virus could make its way into your body through their saliva. Dr. Gundry, how about bitter gourd? Are they healthy? It's a commonly consumed vegetable here in the Philippines, where both its tops and the gourd itself are used in several dishes.
Dr. Gundry's teachings and tips are extremely helpful. I have been following the Plant Paradox program for 3 months now. Constipation, allergies, and sleep were the basis of my goals. NOT weight loss. Nevertheless, I've lost 13 pounds, rapidly. I also lost a ton of muscle mass (I am a female). By increasing my consumption of resistant starches (e.g., sweet potatoes) and a little bit more animal protein (eggs), I have been now able to stop the 'melting' process. BUT 8 weeks into the program I landed in the ER with a massive KIDNEY STONE crisis. Especially if there is history of kidney stones (self or family), both DARK GREEN LEAVES and NUTS are a big no-no (they increase oxalate levels -- which bind with calcium to form stones -- and decrease urinary citrate, an inhibitor of kidney stones, I now know!). True to the program, I started eating more of both. I believe all that Dr. Gundry says about the microbiome, etc., and indeed who could be against more vegetables, but lo and behold I am having 2 problems with the program that I simply can't resolve: unwanted weight and muscle mass loss and kidney stone formation. Without much animal protein, anything wheat or corn, or nuts, I am at a loss as to how to regain weight -- not to speak of easy-to-prepare breakfasts and lunches. Has anyone had a similar experience? Been faced with any of these problems and found a way of still staying true to the Plant Paradox paradigm?
If you feel kidney sore, take 1/2 cup of lemon juice and follow with some water for your teeth. Then take some K2, they put your calcium into your bones and out of your tissues and veins. Kidney stones will disappear and go away.

Yum. Sounds good! 🍤
My late dad always told us ‘ more bitter more better ‘ and ‘ healthy mind healthy body ‘ He loved the ancient Greeks especially being Greek himself
Bet he loved Greek style
Okra is highly used in Thai and Laos foods and when I tried it I fell in love with it and continue to use it when I can find it. Not
Many people know of this vegetable
I hate mushrooms, thankfully there is a great mushroom supplement I take. I prefer Brussel sprouts, cauliflower, and dark greens. I take glucomannan for fiber.
Good day it's nice meeting you again. I watch you while I was on a nine months vacation in Boston. I am now trying to go because of a enlarged heart, and to do a clean out.
Bittermelon should also be mentioned. I never miss eating it once a week. Can be eaten raw or sauté with onion 🧅 and garlic in olive oil then whisk beaten egg 🥚 last when cooking is almost done. 💕 Fan of Dr Gundry here .
The young leaves of bitter melon also good. We Asian PP eat them along with bitter melons.
I put bittermelon in my green smothy regularly
@@dangcoppock7362 I make soup, slow cook stuffed with mushrooms, onion, and ground turkey. Delicious

Interesting. I don't know Bittermelon. I'll have a look. Thank you.
Dr.Dadamo says shiitake mushroom re nor good for type Os but portabella is ok. Being from south Europe we love and eat okra every week. We presure cook then bake them. Thanks for all you do Dr. Gundry. I listen to your podcasts every day driving to work.
I put okra in my green smoothie. Another excellent bitter green I eat and grow is bitter melon. I also grew the ones without the bitter taste. These are the new ones I got from a friend.
Eww. Just boil and eat them
Ok, ok, now we know.
Great tip Ed J. Thanks.
I was looking for this comment. I'm thinking of adding okra to my daily smoothies.

One more time, thanks, thanks, thanks, Dr. Gundry! Following your lectin free diet, happy with it, and feeling better.
Dr. Gundry's super vegetables are
1. Mushrooms - Shiitake, Lion's mane, brown, portabello
2. Okra
3. Dark bitter greens
If it’s bitter, it’s better. Someone else said. That includes unsweetened chocolate.
I like okra cooked in the air fryer.
When I was younger I never thought I’d come to love bitter unsweetened chocolate. Now I can’t bear to eat sweet chocolate.
@@glennso47 I apply some salt chill powder and turmeric powder on the okra and air fry it. works out as a good dinner snack.

I was born in Punjab india, belong to farmer's family i was taught do not anything off season if possible. Nature offer specific products in specific season for a reason but when i moved to canada i was amazed to see that it doesn't matter wHt season you are in, just go to Walmart and buy lol and a lot of people do not cook, their breakfast, lunch and dinner is either Macdonald or KFC or timmi.
My aunt said yhe same thing .EAT FOOD THAT IS IN SEASON !HUMM .I WONDER ?
This doctor is right in many ways, but to understand the taste of real mushrooms, you need to try wild mushrooms of the forests of Russia! By the way, the northern fish, having its own fat, also differs in useful properties from those fish that live in southern reservoirs.
Not only taste but also nutrients. Mushrooms grown in the forest are quite different from those grown in sterile compost (industrial production)
We Dominican people love to eat okra. We prepare them different ways. I love to steam and I cut lots of purple onion, red peppers, a small pinch of salt, and white vinegar. When is done I add extra virgen olive oil. Delicious👍You can prepare also with the plum tomatoes. Serve with brown rice.
Indian dishes include Okra/ Bhindi, bitter greens/ Karela. Thanks for the info Dr.
Dr Gundry, please share tips on how to maintain a good skin care routine.
In the philippines, we just steam the okra serve on the table with bagoong ang kalamansi. Masarap😍😍😍
Okra is considered to be by study one of the highest oxalated foods on the market and advised to be avoided at all costs!

Okra is a stable of middle eastern food. Grew up on it and still love it. Baby okra sautéed with beef cubes and tomatoe sauce. To die for.
Thanks for all the scientific knowledge you have researched and distilled for us(public) Dr Gundry 🙏
Wrong as usual, Dr Gundry is full of it: Spinach is highest in anti-cancer properties, and Broccoli is second highest
Okra has been my favourite food for as long as I can remember! I'm an Ewe Ghanian on my mother's side.
Brown-ish mushrooms, Okra, dark bitter greens
we have Mushrooms, Okra, Greens for Chinese hot pot and it's very delicious!
Thanks for posting this video guide on vegetables. Friendly feedback: it would help if you could include corresponding pictures of the vegetables as you mention them, as some vegetables are called different names in other countries e.g. (purple colour) brinjal in UK is called eggplant in US

In Iraq okra is the first popular vegetal , all Iraqi-an love it, we make it just with lamp meat, tomato souse and garlic , eat with rice.Thank for video.Regards from Denmark🇮🇶🇩🇰❤️🇩🇰🇮🇶
“white mushrooms”aka Button, cremini, and portobello are actually all the same - they're just at different stages of growth! They turn brown when mature.
Maybe thats why white button (pre mature) caused the reaction to patients with leaky gut?
Thank you Doctor for your commitment to a healthy life for all humanity.
Okra is so expensive here in Germany but I love it.
yesyerday I bought 1 kg only for USD 0.30 in Bangladesh..so cheap
Ooh Noo in Africa okra is sooo cheap vegetebles
I loved okra since I was a child in my country is a popular vegetable and we have a variety of recipes thank you for telling me this because I eat it frequently and also mushroom so thank you
I heard somewhere that mushrooms should be cooked because raw mushrooms contained stuff that was best deactivated by cooking. I can't remember the details. What are your thoughts on raw vs cooked mushrooms?
Thank you Doctor Gundry ❤... I try to explain in other language .
Thank you Dr. Steven G. Your video is very informative. Yes, I used to eat okra but in addition to that bitter melon fruit and leaves is effective for me in controling my sugar since I am a pre-diabetic. I you don't mine, next time your topic would be foods best for arthrities. Thank you. God bless you.
I always told my kids, bitter is better. 💚
We eat steam okra with very little garlic ,chop onions and tomatoes and a pinch of salt it's very delicious .
A Gundy video under 5 hours????? This must be my lucky day!
🤣
Thanks Doctor . Pl consider my suggestion . For bringing out the Best in your presentation and Worldwide spread of knowledge , please show the actual vegetable or fruit while narrating or at least their picture.
Thank you Dr. Gundry 🙏🏽💯🥰
I also put in soup also fish broth. Use air fryer and fry with salted fish, onions, garlic and peppers
Add lemon/tomato or dry mango powder to avoid Slime in okra
You have to clean or scrape the Okra skin with a small knife. You can remove the spikes & slime in Okra.
Could you be a little more specific about how to use the lemon? Is it lemon juice? At what point and how do you add it to the okra? I've never heard of mango powder. Sounds interesting though.
Thanks dr i will eat
Mushroom
Okra
Algae
everyday
How is the best method to thicken Marinade used for seasoning chicken"😊

The best recipe is stuff it w powders of cilantro, turmeric, chili, sesame, salt. Lay them in a flat pan to cook. Gently stir.
You can potentially catch the virus through sex. If you receive oral sex from a person with HSV-1, there's a risk that the virus could make its way into your body through their saliva. When you acquire HSV-1 through oral sex, it leads to genital herpes rather than just cold sores. I'm speaking from experience because this was exactly how I got the herpes simplex virus, but thank God I came across THE SEVEN DAYS FAST CURE FOR HERPES 1&2 on TH-cam where I got the complete cure for my genital herpes
Wow what a great idea Okra salad! Going to store tomorrow!
Hi, Pastor. Blessing.
I remember You when I was visit sister Rebeca.
Dr. Gundry, how about bitter gourd? Are they healthy? It's a commonly consumed vegetable here in the Philippines, where both its tops and the gourd itself are used in several dishes.
They are very healthy. Do eat them. They help people with diabetes.
They kill cancer cells.
Dr Gundry you have improved my immune system with the RIGHT 👍▶️ veggies
Come and join Ben Azadi and keto kamp. I follow him, his advice and programme is outstanding.
Then, why do you say it's helpful with all these health problems it has caused to you?
@@fatimayahia3522
I'm kinda lost too.😉
Eat animal protein.
If you feel kidney sore, take 1/2 cup of lemon juice and follow with some water for your teeth. Then take some K2, they put your calcium into your bones and out of your tissues and veins. Kidney stones will disappear and go away.
Surprised to hear OKRA! I'm an African; we eat a lot of okay, however fried and cooked fresh. Thanks doc.
Many thanks dr Gundry for helping us to have a better health 👍
We use okra in a lot of Nigerian dishes. Okra soup is one of my favourite. I also love mushrooms 🍄 but need to try the 3rd one, although in Nigerian we also eat a lot of bitter leaf in our food. They are dark green vegetables.
Dr. Gundry, I've started using your products and I'm gradually getting rid of my stomach problem, which I was suffering for last 5 years. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. Now a days I'm your big fan. I take total restore and bio complete. I sent your products to my parents also in India. In this video as you said,- more bitter is more better. So I've one question. Cucumber leaves are bitter in taste, so can I cook/ steam and eat that? Because now a days I avoid cucumber as you said it has lactins on the skin and in the seed. So is it safe to have cucumber leaves? Please reply. Thank you. 🙏

There is a particular slimy veggie in Kenya knowns as "enderema" in Kisii Kenya. I swear I ate that most of my life and life was good. I don't know the English name. How I wish it could grow in Canada or USA! One can never have a problem in the stomach.
It grows here in the USA. Especially in the South as it needs lots of warm sun.
What's the recommended quantity per day or week for each of these vegetables?
Please include photos in your videos for clarity and better understanding. Thanks
This video explained really well about the benefits of green veggies. I’ll be eating more of these. My personal favorites are mushrooms and okra.
I eat low carb most of the time and one meal a day some days. Leafy greens like kale, if you eat a bundle. Keeps me full and energetic during a fast. I know it breaks it but just eat that and I feel fat loss is being helped. Waist line says so
