I mean there's nothing really terrible about that one. It sounds really fucking wild without context, but when you learn the backstory it isn't all that crazy. Someone had to have her toe amputated due to a medical problem and she kept it because she wants to be buried with it when she dies. A while later the preservative has expired so she found someone who had the skills to put the toe into a different vessel with fresh preservative solution. Far more wholesome than the graverobbing Tumblr drama.

As someone who was a Hamilton fan at like 12 years old, this is very true. The funny thing about Alexandria's Genesis is it was made up for a fanfic series back in the late 90s/early 00s as a condition for the author's self-insert Mary Sue OC, and someone completely random who'd read the stories peddled that as fact later. The author even found out about it and had to be like "no y'all I literally made it up" to the few ppl who refused to believe it was fake

John green always, always brings back such painful memories because of the horrifying, mortifying, gut-wrenchingly embarrassing memory of when I was in middle school and showed this girl that was two years older than me the post because I thought that it truly encapsulated what tumblr was like. I have very few regrets and am generally easy going, but Jesus Christ what I would give to wipe that memory completely from both of our minds.
Modern tumblr looks back at the "John Green taste of cock" monologue as a source of shame. He was just a guy who wrote a popular YA romance novel, and it culminated in him being harassed and having death threats sent to his family through his presence on tumblr. It's honestly wild looking back on it all. To this day I see a lot of people have a mild disdain for the Green brothers and I've never had a suitable explanation as to why.
My understanding of the situation is people suspected John was having overly-friendly interactions with his teenage fans, but in fact he wasn't. There are also completely unrelated reasons to not like the Green brothers, such as thinking they are cringe or that the books are bad

Nobody ever did take her up on that offer. She's still around places other than just Tumblr. But I almost never see her so nowadays her randomly popping up in one of my feeds is like "oh, hey! THAT weirdo! I forgot about her."
To this day, I still marvel at the time when we could edit other people's posts and we only didn't (with the exception of changing fudgers to meaners) as an honor system. At least the post which finally ended that era was absolutely top tier 👌

Forums also work since the quoted post is usually right there to check lol, on tumblr you'd need to bother clicking over to the original post which pretty much nobody had a reason to do if they weren't already suspicious.
But Tumblr post edits got us "meaners" and "danny devito"
