Sat in one of these at the dealership. Great build and very luxurious and comfortable and I'm 6'6". I don't know how much they'll sell even though the price has been reduced. I may go for the GX over this because I can actually configure the premium GX for $64k with a few packages and standard features that are upgrades that put the Lancruiser over $70k. That's the issue. If a 4 cylinder is pushing over $70k and I can get a v6 for less that's the exact same platform it's an easy choice. Understand that the new landcruiser in the US is the Landcruiser Prado elsewhere except outside the US the exact vehicle body, etc, mostly comes with a turbo diesel. The GX has always been the same body as the Prado hence the body similarity with the new Landcruiser. Before the Landcruiser and the Lexus LX were the same amd now the Landcruiser and the GX are the same so makes sense to get the GX.

With price difference in premium fuel here in Canada, the better mpg is negligible to my 2022 TRD Off Road 4Runner. I’ve added 285/70 AT C load tires x 5, and 700 lbs to it (roof tent, roof rack w/window panels, EcoFlow 2kWh pack, 12V 45L fridge, drawer set up, food, water, recovery gear, skin panels, 2 x 100W rigid solar panels, awning, etc) and did a road trip to Tuktoyaktuk (14,600 kms round trip in 13 days). I avg 14.5L / 100 kms pushing it at times, driving easy for most of trip. I figure Land Cruiser would use a bit more fuel with that weight added (say 11.5L / 100 kms vs 10.7L for stock wheels/weight) so this trip I would’ve maybe saved $50 Cdn, or about 1.5% savings in fuel cost.

Another swing and a miss by Toyota.
Making this a 4 Cyl turbo hybrid , Toyota engineers messed up big time. Why? I currently drive a 4 Cyl Hybrid SUV that is every bit what this vehicle is, full time 4 wheel drive , locking diff. all the driving features and luxury interior, AND my SUV gets a Solid 37 MPG combined mileage every day.
I don't have to use premium gas either. There is nothing my current SUV can't do that this Toyota can.
Toyota engineers really seriously have a problem with the iforce max powertrain used in this and the Tacoma as far as they suck gas for no good reason, and the hybrid system is poorly setup. Why would they build a Hybrid that the fuel MPG sucks so bad. This is horrible! Also the huge premium price for this Toyota, is outside reason.

I like it but hardly anyone talks about the weight limit for the back due to the battery being their. The sticker says not to load over 150lbs in the back. That is a huge turn off as a family of 3 will 1 check in suit case each will most likely exceed the weight limit for the back.
