Before this ive had 10 cars the most similar being the 5th gen 4runner

Love my 2024 Land Cruiser with premium package and 20" wheels in dusty trail! My husband just bought it for me for my bday and we picked it up 2 days ago! He loves it too, but he already has a new Tundra :)

Running boards - try stepping up using your outboard foot. It’s counterintuitive at first but works better; you can swing your inside foot in and plant yourself where you want to land.
These don’t come with all-terrain tires curiously. That may be one reason it was so much quieter than you expected. But to your other point, few people who buy these will benefit from all-terrain tires so give them what they need. I’d want to put a set of Falken Wildpeaks on one.
I initially wanted one of these. But after the $5k markup going on in my area, I t on the list for a GX550 Overtrail for the same money, Much better deal IMHO.
I picked up the GH 2024 has acoustic glass, 8 inches of ground clearance also, an off road system that Ive never heard of anyone breaking and drives like a dream. Ive had a Jeep Rubicon, never used the 4wd as designed, I dont rock crawl or live in a swamp. Before this I had a Honda Pilot 2014 FWD was great, got me where I needed every time. If I was rich I would get this for the weekend and camping, I would not modify it at all, this is an American thing to waste money, gas and drivability .... fascinating to me.
Awesome video, going forward can you change the driving camera angle(thats what most reviewers do and its not great) we want to feel like we are with you in the car.

Can I request that you make a follow up reviewing all the of the different 4 wheel drive modes, driving modes, differential lock modes? Is that possible? Thanks
Same engine and transmission as my 2024 tacoma I'm glad they went with 4 cylinder turbo engine and the transmission is so smooth I'm thinking about getting the 1958 to and keep my 2024 tacoma TRD off-road

I would def want one of these but in South Africa we only get the model with the 2.8 GD6 diesel motor and not the 2.4 turbo mild hybrid that has loads more power.Dont know why Toyota does not bring the 2.4 to our shores.You guys that can get it all i can say is you are so lucky.Enjoy !!!
Yeah idk why OEMs do that. Every country has different variations. Maybe each government has different mandates? Idk haha it's odd
O well. I have the Legend double cab with the 2.8GD6 so guess I will just keep enjoying what I have 😂😂👌🏼

I will stick to the 25’ 4R. Land Cruiser with the same engine and hybrid system requires premium fuel. The Taco and 4R do not.
Great review....no clue why Toyota even offers the 20" wheel option on the LC250, definitely missing the target there.

In Canada the premium package comes with the 20” wheels so there’s actually a disincentive to get it. I guess they figure the people who get the premium stuff won’t ever go off-road, which is probably the case for most of them. I’d be in the market for 17” wheels and tires right away.
I love the look of this new Land Cruiser but its too much car for me with more capability than I need. I’m hoping the next RAV4 will look like a scaled down version of this. I’m a big fan of boxy vehicles.

Ugh I love it so much! It’s just for 70k I just can’t justify that 😞 would have to stick to a more entry level 4Runner or Honda Passport, and then could buy a new Honda civic and combine those to be the same price as the Land Cruiser. If this was low to mid 50s it would be so perfect, but alas one can only wish

I'm looking at different SUVs right now and if you're not going to be serious off-roading, something like the Honda Pilot Trailsport is unquestionably better equipped for day to day ownership.
I thought the 1958 model (base) was something like $55k ??

3:38 Can't "hide" brake dust with gray wheels. Use ceramic brake pads for LEAST amount of dust messing up wheels. No peek at engine.
@bricks-mortar I can assure you grey wheels hides brake dust 🤣 I've owned cars with alloy, black, gun metal grey. The grey hides brake dust the best. Yes ceramic helps. My NSX has carbon ceramic rotors and pads, less brake dust.

@@ZackThomas I don't like the fact mostly everything in the 550 is controlled via the infotainment. I want buttons. Also I think the Land Cruiser front end is better looking.

I didn't - I drove very normal - didn't take any turns fast, so I'm not sure how others got squeal?

@@Cameleonxsecurx If you are talking about the wobble, I think that is an optical illusion due to the tire having either a darker area (from Armor All ??) than the rest of the tire or driving through the shade. Focus on the rim and not the tire and you notice it runs true.
How about the fact that you can only carry 60 kg in the trunk otherwise the board protecting the hybrid battery may break , how come no one else mentions it besides the “car care nut review “ ?
That doesn't pertain to the entire trunk. It's over 1 tiny small space. If you Google it and check the forum, you'll see more info on it.
Because no one except you is planning on carrying more than 3 dead bodies back there.

I've done multiple camera angles before. Takes me 3x longer to make the video and it gives me no more views then just 1 camera angle + drone. My size of channel, I work a main job and this is on the side and as is, I spend 10 hours a week on car reviews. I add about 3 hours to that adding other camera angles. If my channel gets big enough that I make enough to justify it, absolutely. Out of my over 4 million views, and thousands of comments, your the 2nd person to ever ask for another camera angle. So appreciate the feedback, just doesn't make sense for me right now
How’s the gas Milage here it’s not saying what it’s stated.
I spoke about the mpg stats in the first 5 mins of the video. But I took it on a 140 mile highway trip and averaged like 24.5 and it was 106 degrees outside
Thats what’s I’m saying, it’s averaging 14 mpg ! That’s nuts ! The hybrid battery is just to charge more money ??
Powertrain numbers are a moot point if this new platform isn’t reliable. We wont’t know that for 5+ years.
New vehicles are under warranty for a reason tho. Any issues are taken care of. Main point of owning a new vehicle honestly. Thanks for watching 👊
This is not some American car. Its a Toyota. We know what it will be in 5 years. If you confused, it will be running with no issues
I picked up a 1958 version from dealership (know the owner) got it for MSRP - It has 900 miles - willing to sell it for $85K - let me know if you want it
130lb in trunk won't do it for me. Not to forget price.

@brendanreary9142 I believe 6.5 0-60 100% - driving a new car every week, it's easy to tell a 6 second vs 8 second. I got 7 seconds without any brake torque.

All I can say is drive a 4runner then drive this... I've had both. Personally I'd take this over a 4runner everyday of the week. Twice on Sunday.
@@TheCarReviewGuys but $30,000 more? With a set of KO2's on both my money is on the 4Runner to be the better off road vehicle. And the LC Prado can't be more reliable.
@blackwatch7151 $30k isn't the price difference if comparing similar trim levels. Also as stated in my review, I focus on, on road driving. The Land Cruiser is a way better daily IMO. It's not even close. And the land cruiser is certainly capable enough off road for 90% of people.

@ranjithpowell6791 ummm, many vehicles on the road today have the same name as way back in the day. Obviously designed much differently then back then but carry the same name. (Mustang, Camaro, corvette as examples) so I'm not sure I get your statement?
Drove the 1958 last night for test drive, great truck bad engine.. hate the Prius sound and lack of effortless movement unless you’re really getting into the throttle.. that was fun but that’s not my driving style.. but 23 mpg has to come with some trade off I guess
