eric received my turner on a saturday of last week, took it to the range on monday i can't believe what this does after adjusting turner all my shots were under quarter. what a great product.
Not too long ago, I finished building a 6mm ARC longe-range bolt gun with every intention of testing the EC Tuner brake with all 3 of the Hornady ammo offerings (Black, Match and Precision Hunter). I got 2 boxes of each and thoroughly tested everything and was shocked at how effective this tuner was. Groups using the Hornady Precision Hunter had little improvement, but the Match and Black responded remarkably well with the Black being basically 1-hole groups almost impossible to measure and the Match ammo tuning to .234 !!! I will not be reloading for this cartridge. I bought every single bit of the lot numbers I could get my hands on and will simply enjoy shooting this gun and just sell the brass since once-fired brass is an easy sell anyway.
Erik: I've got my EC Tuner Brake mounted on my .30-06 Howa (sporting barrel). I went through the process with it yesterday. At #20, it shoots under .5". I put paper out at 300 yards and shot a 1-1/4" group. Now... I realize that in the great scheme of things, this isn't the kind of group that would turn your head... but this is a 7-pound, 400-yard, elk rifle. Thanks and both of my thumbs are up.
I would like to see the original EC as a device that threads on to an existing 5/8 x 24 and allows moderator usage (suppressor). Brilliant product, Mr. Cortina!
OK Mr. Cortina, I finally got time and conditions to do a little work. First I tried some 147 gr military crap and shot OK with adjustments to 6. Then I used “Atomic” 168 gr I bought at Perry. At position #6 I held .525@ 100. I only shot 30 rds. Lol. It works. I may find tighter groups yet but I like it already. (DPMS LAR ) Thanks. I like your videos.
I got my today I did put it on my bergara b14 hmr on 308 and firt shot when 0.7 mils up I did ajust it down 7 click and shot 3 round for grouping and I have to tell you shot basically one hole so I didn't have the courage to move the tuner open down way set up number 0 so I'm from Argentina the ammo here is pretty expensive and hard to fine I did use the hornary match ammo later on I will tryout longer shots for red stag season. Thanks for this product very impressive
Hi Erik--Just received your 30 cal Tuner/Brake. The concept is just fantastic, a tuner with a muzzle brake AND you don't have to have your barrel remachined. I have wanted a tuner for many years but I didn't want to have the barrel threads redone and your Tuner/Brake was just what I was looking for!! The quality is top notch! I am excited about trying this out (as soon as it stops raining)!! Great Channel and great videos. Keep up the good work!!

You have done well already about the seating depth... but can you show the best and quickest way to get low ES...? Thanks so much... you have GREAT STUFF... KEEP IT UP.
Not sure if you will see this Eric, but I received the stainless brake/tuner yesterday and shot it today….Wow! Tikka T3TacA1 in a 6.5 Creed…this was a really honest 1/2 MOA rifle with no problem…..setting of 4.5 and this is shooting .25” 5 shot groups all day long now….totally sold on this product….I’ll be ordering another one for my 6GT Open rifle now! Thanks for an awesome product….oh yeah, much better recoil management with this brake vs. the Tikka factory brake as well…gonna be a real hammer in PRS Production Class 🍻
Eric, So I was on your webpage last night 5/11/22 to order another tuner brake when I discovered I forgot my login password, so after going through the steps, I then discovered your purchase site either could not or did not send me a completed 'Change My Password Page', so I could not. I guess your site did not receive my payment via Venmo either. Sorry I can't pay via PayPal, they closed my account, for some unknown reason. So why cant we purchase via credit/Debit cards or why can't we purchase as a guest? Otherwise I impressed with the first brake and want to install them on all my bolt rifles now.
Just purchased an ECTuner Brake in 6.5mm for my Rem 700 in 22.250. Thanks for responding to my previous emails. Looking forward to getting my load dialed-in for my next varmint hunting trip out west this Summer. Let us know when they become available in black! Thanks again, Erik.
WORTH IT'S WEIGHT IN GOLD! I threw it on did some load work up found a good load 144 Berger and H4350 SD of 2.4 on my magneto speed. Loaded up 30 rounds took the magneto speed off and started fine tuning.3 shot groups starting at 1 to 8. Found it grouped well at 4 and 5. So I split the difference and wow! 5 shot group @.18 inches and .22 inches. Absolutely amazing product.

I agree with the comments regarding no muzzle brake. I believe that the world is going to suppressed rifles (ok well at least Texas) and being able to use the tuner with a suppressor would be great

I wondered if there is any way to work up a load while having the EC tuner brake on the rifle. I understand the tuner is to help dial in a load, but I would like to use the brake to reduce recoil while finding a good hand load for the gun.

This has me very curious now. I'm wondering if you could machine a small part that goes from 1/2x28 female to 1/2x28 male and have your adjustment in between the two ends. It only needs to be maybe an inch long, sort of like a barrel extension but with a tuner built in. Why do this you ask? Because you can then run your favorite suppressor while still having the benefits of a tuner.
what is the theory of operation? for high power matches i reload for the event. different bullet and powder weights. (223.) . this break could be changing barrel pressure. i guess if using issue ammo this might tune the rifle somewhat. the pressure must be constant for this device to work effectively.
PLANKER” Tuners do not change pressure, they adjust the point in the sign (sp) wave at which the bullet exits the barrel. Think of it this way, the bullet, if seated the same distance off the lands every time, will impart a vibration to the barrel. As the vibration or barrel whip has a range of movement. If the bullet exits the barrel at the top or bottom of the travel of the end of the barrel each time, your groups will be as small as possible with that “setup” Keep in mind everything else has to be consistent, neck tension, charge weight, same bullet, seating depth. Etc.
@@planker RE: "an adjustable damper with break" That's what Eric's looks like. My current 'tuner' is from the late 1980's. It was a clamp on type without a muzzle break.. I like Eric's design.... I'm not sure of the need for a muzzle break on the 223 / 556 given the light recoil. I guess anything in a proven design might help. In an AR platform I think a lot of attention would have to go towards the upper and lower receiver lockup tolerances. Plus if I were going to pursue max accuracy in a AR, I would turn it into a single shot with a adjustable gas block for load development. This is Because I don't know enough about the action induced vibrations' (wiggle factor) from all the moving parts. i.e.bolt moving before the bullet exits.. From my perspective, because I am not a hunter, all I am looking for in a AR platform is "minute of bad guy" accuracy. I'll save my time and energy for Bench Rest reloading / target shooting with Bolt Gun's.... BTW, it's amazing how much you can wring out of a stock rifle with a custom trigger and a tuner.

what is the theory of operation? for high power matches i reload for the event. different bullet and powder weights. (223.) . this break could be changing barrel pressure. i guess if using issue ammo this might tune the rifle somewhat. the pressure must be constant for this device to work effectively.
PLANKER”
Tuners do not change pressure, they adjust the point in the sign (sp) wave at which the bullet exits the barrel.
Think of it this way, the bullet, if seated the same distance off the lands every time, will impart a vibration to the barrel.
As the vibration or barrel whip has a range of movement. If the bullet exits the barrel at the top or bottom of the travel of the end of the barrel each time, your groups will be as small as possible with that “setup”
Keep in mind everything else has to be consistent, neck tension, charge weight, same bullet, seating depth. Etc.

RE: "an adjustable damper with break"
That's what Eric's looks like.
I'm excited to get one. Short of my hunting rifle, all my rifles will start getting one of these bad boys.
I so need one of these. Great stuff sir.
Best way to find out when they are bake in stock?
Also, what does adjusting that thing do??
Hi , in USA do you have to have muzzle breaks sent off to the proof house (tested) and stamped like we do in the uk ? Are these proofed.?
Ordered one of each. Thank you Greatly, 👍🏻👊🏻.
Sincerely,
Matthew
Eric can you ship these to Canada?
