That’s awesome! I built my first ever competition rifle on an Aero action after watching your last video with this rifle. Put a 6 Dasher Proof barrel, Aero competition chassis, TT Diamond, Athlon Ares ETR scope on it. Shooting my first ladder test on it was INSANE! Half the 5 shot groups were under .25 MOA. I picked the lower node and shot 10 into .3. Ringing 5” steel at 500yds has become boring with it. Shooting my first competition next month. Super excited. Thanks for all the advice!
I was just about to say that, the X ring is 5" and the 10 ring is 10" i believe, plus its only 500 yards, most f class match's are at 1,000 years depending on the range etc. But still that is a excellent results from out of the box new rifle, normally the first gold bore shot is always out or flyer as they say, yet erik got a X on the first shot, well done. Please do the KYL challenge with the same rifle and ammo combo. 🦘👍👌✌ Also IMO all you need is your riles barrel and action blueprinted and tuned and squared up so everything is dead on flush and a good trigger, that way you do not pull your shots. 🦘🦘👍👍
He's already done it. Look for the videos titled "6.5 NEEDSMORE". From there they swapped out a few components to see how much more gain they could achieve. WORTH WATCHING. *shoot multiple brands to determine what fodder performs best in your particular platform and work from there*.
It's great to see an established shooter get excited over the results of a build shooting factory fodder, AND to pass on the knowledge. I'm looking forward to the build I'm "slapping" together at present time with factory parts......., Browning X-Bolt Target Max, 6.5 NEEDSMOOR. 26" SS fluted Bull bbl, 20 MOA rail, factory target trigger, factory produced McMillion clone stock, WARNE 30mm steel rings, ARKEN EPL-4 optic. After determining the best performing factory ammo an EC Tuner Brake will be ordered. Then handload development will come after that.
Nice shooting. I have a Solus Bravo in 6.5 creedmoor and a solus barreled action in 6.5 PRC. Also have a Solus action with Shilen barrel in 25PRC. All excellent values. Have a Savage with Shillen barrel in 25 creedmoor too. Too much fun. Can’t wait fot the Solus long action.
That will be my next rifle and of course with a tuner brake. I have been working with a Savage 110 Mdl. 10. It needs a tuner brake and a different trigger. Rather than putting any more money into it, I think I’ll sell it and get the Solus.
I have two Kelbly Panda f-class actions, a Zermatt TL3, Savage FTR and a Solus in 6CM. That Solus can shoot. When I tell people I shot a 600 with 34 x's at 600 yards with it, I can see the doubt in their eyes. That Solus can shoot with the best of them. And with the stock barrel and box factory Berger Bullets, 105 hybrids. EC Tuner, no brakes in f-class.
??? He said second group he was holding for wind? The tuner will help adjust harmonics, any weight you put on the barrel will affect poi, just might not immediately give the desired results
Question on the EC Tuner Brake as i want to buy one soon. If i sight in my rifle and get great groupings with a specific ammo, lets say Hornady ELD M 140grain (factory Ammo). Then either buy another brand, bullet weight or make my own rounds, do i need to tune the beak again to that specific round or should it group the same? I hope my question makes sense.
Good Stuff EC! I have a custom 6mm Creedmoor with AP Solus action and chassis with TT trigger and Proof Research Barrel (recommended by AP themselves)! What Tack Drivers and what value for the money you get with AP products. Good video brotha!
Not bad. Shoots about as well as the Tikka CTR I bought used, for $675, 4 years ago. Last time I shot at 500 with it, was 3.5" 100-8x. How much does the Solus action cost, with that barrel and tuner?
That's just flat out outstanding shooting. I have quite a few 8 twist 6.5 barrels on hand for hunting rifles. I was considering a Creedmoor build. Decision made now. What ammo were you shooting?
I run just a thread Protector and getting sub 1 inch groups but I really want to try a Brake but I don’t know if it’ll affect my POI… Ammunition is expensive and I don’t reload but I may have to try my Brake. Great shooting my friend.
@@castledomeknives9395 But at the end of the video he stated "I don't even think I need to handload." I wanted to know what ammo also since he said that
So, you shot one 10 shot group in your previous video that you described as being basically the first 10 shots (precluding getting a basic zero), and you got a very respectable 5.62" group at 500 yards, with the average down range velocity listed as 2,135 fps, and now you've done some trigger work and shot another couple of 10 shot groups with your EC Tuner that are a 25-40% better group, with the average down range velocity being listed as 2,311 fps. Why the significant change in velocity? Different ammo or loading?
@RaymondTusk74 Sure, I was more alluding to the fact that he’s titling this video as basically an advertisement for the tuner that he sells, yet it’s likely that this rifle would shoot just as well without it if he shot it after it’s fouled and after the trigger job, and maybe less windy conditions.

That cold barrel shot was on point! :)
I have the same solus rifle and will definitely get the tuner brake. Thanks for sharing this video.
You can tell Eric has mastered at reading wind from his position to the target and it shows. awesome!
Thank you.
Can you make a video about reading wind while shooting a string of targets
I have. It’s on my website on the members forum.
You should run the KYL with that rifle to show that you don't need a full custom rig.
Going to try it for sure.

I'd like to see how an off the shelf rifle shoots before and after the tuner is installed. And the process to get it to shoot well.

Way to keep'em in the X ring Erik! You & that Solus both did your part.
Eric thank you for your content. I have seen rifles that just sing, and I seen that in your reaction. You are correct that is a true hunting rifle.
Get carried away, that is great you could get the rifle down to the 1/2 inch mark or below, and we love seeing how a pro gets there!
Nice shooting, that guns a hummer for a hunting rifle. Thanks Eric for all you share.
You’re welcome.
Great video man
that should do! excellent... windflag use would made it completely awesome..off a bipod it is awesome far as i'm concerned.
What software/hardware do you use for your electronic target? Looks pretty slick.
Damn you Eric, temping me to buy a new rifle
😂
@ErikCortina Aint nothin but a peanut.
I built a 22 Creedmoor on a Solus action. Shoots great!

Watching both videos. The barrel hop and recoil are very noticeable difference with the tuner brake!!
Outstanding performance!
Most of the rifles we build are on Solus actions. The only thing that lacks is bolt faces, but I make the ones that don't exist.
That's worth being excited about!
🎶 That muzzle tuner 🤌
Nicely done!!!
Thanks!
Solid Rig EC!
I really enjoyed watching that. I have a feeling they're about to sell quite a few of those rifles😂
What e target are you using? Great shooting!!
Congrats, always great to confirm you have a shooter
Wow! Impressive.
The action looks smooth
You shoot off a bypod I am new to this sport and am told to use bags. You prove these people wrong
Erik have you guys tried tested making some kind of suppressor tuner?
The true star of the show is the ammo. Look how consistent the ammo is for factory ammo.
probably shooting Lapua Match ammo

Lets see that rig on the cold bore challenge!
what are you using to get the target info like that
wow! nice shootin tex lol
that action sounds amooth as butter
What app is that for your target impacts?
My Solus with Criterion 6.5 CM barrel is my plinking rifle as well.
Just curious how long is that barrel?
Eric, I would like you to compare the following rifles.
Remington 700 Alpha 1
Seekin
Christian Arms
All with the same caliber and scope.
Super nice 👍🏼

The tuner works great I have one. So once you have everything working perfectly, then you want to use a suppressor what options are available?
I got a solus obsidian on order should be here soon. My solus hunter in 308 is bad ass.

I just waited for the image to clear up on the scope. In my competition rifle, I use a mirage shield. It’s a band over the barrel.

When are you going to make one for a 7mm? I have a savage 110 ultralight in 28nos.
