Have you ever had issues with the plastic 7 bracket during winter use? I really wish they would make a metal one as they do for the larger screened units. I really want to mount similarly but am worried about the durability due to vibration and mostly cold temps(-30c not out of the norm where I'm from Saskatchewan, Canada) Thanks for any advice. Appreciate
Awesome video!!! Would it be a total pain in the neck to take the Helix 7 on and off to use as a fish finder in the tent? What I mean is would it be so annoying that it wouldn’t be worth doing?
The thing I would be nervous about is the battery being dead and getting caught in a blizzard. I would at the very least have a spare battery in my pocket if I didn't wire it to my sleds battery. Good video
You could always cut the wires and hook them to your sled battery If you needed it that bad. If you had cell service you could at least get off the lake. You could make a jumper with some ring terminals to quick connect to sled battery in emergency. Not a bad idea
@@mainetroutwhisperer Yeah that would work great. I always plan for the worst. I carry one of those little battery jumper packs too. Like 70 bucks off Amazon. Where we go we are sometimes 4 miles out and not far from the shipping channel of freighters. You go the wrong direction you go for a swim. Lol.
I really am getting hard water fever! I set my gps to power from my 12 volt port (cigarette outlet). Excellent to use electronics year round.
