I've been in a hobby rut for a while, but after watching Jay's videos on spearhead I'm hyped to get back at it. Many kudos for the positive vibes and enthusiasm your videos always have!
The tinting of the snow and ice works really well with your colour scheme. I don't think it looks silly at all! It helps make it look realistic when it's not just 100% dumb white. In nature, there are tints, colours, reflections everywhere, and it's very easy and natural to read those bases as a snowy rocky forest landscape where the sun is setting. It's like a blue-green twilight moment.
I can tell ya as an Ogor Mawtribe player in full scale AoS you've got a fun army on your hands. They get a lot more fun when you add their wizards and faction terrains into account. One of my personal recommendations is the Gorger Mawpack, they're an incredibly fun unit to play with!
I think he is just doing spearhead, I remember him saying that he wouldn’t have to paint another one of their Calvary ever, so he put in the extra detail
This popped right when my lunch break in work started, cant imagine better timing! Super excited to watch, thank you for the video! EDIT: Came back to write this after watching and man, i love your painting videos, it inspires me so much to push myself and become better painter.. thanks!
I do love your basing videos but also a lot of basing expertise is buried at the end of figure painting videos. I think a supercut of the basing sections of your other videos would be a really cool resource!
Wow, great follow through on an interesting idea. I'm blown away by the results. I wasn't sold at first but it really came together at the end, especially with the icecicles. SUPER impressive.
I absolutely love this! This has inspired me to build a spearhead, and this one exactly, absolutely fantastic, is there somewhere you have posted photos of these, keep up the incredible inspirational videos
The colors you used are just genius. Before you did your basing I was looking at the models and thought to myself "Green would complement the models well" but all I could think of was plant matter. I love your channel.
I thought the same thing until I started playing Spearhead at my LGS, and it is legit pretty fun. It's motivated me to consider getting my other spearheads painted up once I finish my current paint project!
Hope to see you and this gorgeous spearhead at Rock-Con in November! I guess it's the 50th year hosting in rockford, IL so it should be a blast of convention
As someone who's experienced with scale models, yet only 3 years into minis, I quickly learned that bases really can sell a mini. Im decent at mini painting now but excel at making bases/dioramas because I have tons more experience in that. To add on, if you hyper focus on one particular detail or technique it can also elevate a piece similar to a good base. Also who is Jay kidding! lol He's talking Ogres up so much you just know he will be getting more in the future haha. Also doesnt help his case any because so far the rumors are Ogres are getting a complete overhaul in 4th ed so I wanna see him try and resist that new range lol.
You need to do a lush kind of forest floor for a base sometime to get away from the normal bland ones you almost always do just to see how good outside the comfort zone you can go plus not all battles are in the same environments and need to do the space sharks like Tyberous
Jay: I want to use one bold saturated color! Also Jay: So I used a blue base, then added some red and some yellow and some green. PS. The bases and models look awesome. Good job! ;)
I decided to sell the my mountain of basing materials due to lack of space and have started just dipping my bases in Krautcover mixes, I'm happy with that as the effort vs result is worth it.
Either Jay has been watching a lot of TNG or String Theory videos because _cork_ has become _quark_ - pretty sure the scales are a few magnitudes apart. If Jay can paint a mini made at the quark scale… actually, I’m not sure how that would even be possible. I’ll put a cork in it now. 😂
I am once again asking for the next space marine chapter you do to be the iron snakes. They have a very cool Greek aesthetic and they feature in a Dan Abnet novel
A special thanks to Cobalt Keep for sponsoring this video!!! www.cobaltkeep.com/ Coupon Code: EOB10 for 10% off Bases!

That saw handling made me uneasy haha

Thanks for always putting out quality content guys!

I am now convinced that a AoS employee has taken him hostage and is being forced to tell us about Spearhead at gun point
I thought the same thing until I started playing Spearhead at my LGS, and it is legit pretty fun. It's motivated me to consider getting my other spearheads painted up once I finish my current paint project!
Na spearhead is actually very fun
Nice and creative approach to snow for AoS!
Excellent basing and theme, I'm impressed with the icy, rocky terrain your ogres are on. Ice sickles and snow, something I have not yet tried.
Looks good! I find scatter terrain and objective markers to be the fun way to try out new basing schemes and paint the random fun looking bits.
The OId Ninja Maneater is one of my all-time favorite models.
Ogor Mawtribes is the spearhead that I would want to play as well. Nice job Jay!
soooo, when quar video?
Go to mish mash for good quar painting
We need it
Quar
Quar?
If you want what related stuff mainly quar then go to mish mash
Liquid frost is greatbut need to seal with thin superglue otherwise keeps reactivating with ambient humidity and mucks it up

Thank you for telling us where you got your cork. I've been needing it.
Doing snow bases for my ice themed skaven and this is so helpful thank you so much!
these are my favorite kinds of videos. The end result doesn't disappoint!
Hope to see you and this gorgeous spearhead at Rock-Con in November! I guess it's the 50th year hosting in rockford, IL so it should be a blast of convention

Beautiful army! I will take inspiration from your vibrant red pants for my ogre
They are certainly spiffy. What a lovely, rich red in juxtaposition with the bases.
Your ogres and bases are GLORIOUS! Nowhere near “fine”.
I swear Jays desk just gets a tiny bit taller every video
I will have to steal your snow recipe, it looks REAL GOOD!
This looks amazing man. Great work
i tried the Ogor spearhead last friday, quite fun!
Dam it, Jay. Now I have to get this spearhead. I was only planning on SoD and Seraphon spearheads but by golly, these ogres look fantastic.

I want to do ogors but I’m waiting for the refresh that will probably come in 4th since they now have the oldest range in AoS
Pretty good looking if they are that old.
@@Jan_Iedemathey’re not bad no. But I can imagine them looking so much cooler after a refresh
@@Jason-gq8fo true true
Get some at least while they're cheap to collect, refreshed minis means refreshed prices
@@GoodNegativenot really
Perfect timing, been torn between desert or arctic bases for my Thousand Sons, arctic bases it is :)
Please can we have a studio tour Jay?
Love the experemrnting with colours great armie looks awesome
Yes please! I can't wait for more AoS videos!!!
Jay: I want to use one bold saturated color!
Also Jay: So I used a blue base, then added some red and some yellow and some green.
PS. The bases and models look awesome. Good job! ;)
Also cool snow ones
What a great idea for bases! Gonna have to steal that
hehe I remember when the Ogre kingdoms came out as a kid. Before that, I had the metal chaos Ogres ( now turned into 40k or necromunda Ogryn)
I decided to sell the my mountain of basing materials due to lack of space and have started just dipping my bases in Krautcover mixes, I'm happy with that as the effort vs result is worth it.
I love the armor. Looks almost like they carry stone tablets around.
cant wait to see you paint the tyrant!
Those bases look amazing!
This might be a silly question but does your cork bases ever decompose?
You know I was actually looking at getting this spearhead yesterday
Do kharadron next!!! They are a blast to paint
As a KO Player I would have loved to see you paint the KO Spearhead !

Well done !
2:34 it’s easy to get off with just a lil bit of rubbing

Easy to get off with a little bit of rubbing, I'm picking up what you're putting down jay 😉
When did you finish the iron blaster 😊 ! ❤
Please give us a video on how you painted the models
Well, my demons now have bases hahah! Thanks!
how would you do a swamp style base? Like for kruleboyz?
When can we get the Sean the Nemisis set of purple and green dice? Nick, Jay anyone at EoB??
I am once again asking for the next space marine chapter you do to be the iron snakes. They have a very cool Greek aesthetic and they feature in a Dan Abnet novel
Best thing about Ogres is that your average gamer can easily cosplay as one.
Yeah, cool bases and such, but I GOTTA know the story behind the sculpted middle finger in the back
these look great!
I’d love to see you do thousand sons jay
Would love to see your take on Kharadron Overlords!
I swear, you losing that tournament was a canon event.
The universe will destabilize if you win too much at Warhammer, especially if you beat Shaun.

Someone tell me where I can find a bunch of that cool 40k art.
Day 79 of asking Jay to paint a skitarii
