have you tried disabling igpu and see how much power usage improves? currently i guess you're using 155watts from the wall. but how about with igpu disabled

yep i did bend the socket pins! and i have a new digital microscope on the way to straighten them rab. almost have all the repairs tools for pcs gpus, phones and etc electronics! welding station and low melt solder etc.. . cant wait to get back into it! great vid! i love watching NorthridgeFix repairing MB and ssd and etc.. great vid

So happy you made this video and that I watched it as am planning on building a 7900x cpu rig and would have bought the same nvme m.2 ssd's to go in the 7900x rig, But now I know that wouldn't work so found the correct one saved for when I can buy all or parts at a time. I got my ram but still waiting on my 5900x, need two more 5900x as have everything ready to go and then will see about getting the 7900x rig put together if not a few.
I was looking at getting this ram for a 7900x rig: ADATA XPG Lancer Blade 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB) DDR5 6000MHz (PC5-48000) PC Memory Cas timing of 30-40-40
But may get same as you have as they have a Cas timing of 30-36-36-76 and both set's of ram run at 1.35v.

Hi, did you update the BIOS to the latest version? I had an MSI motherboard with Out Of The Box BIOS vs 1.b. Temps for CPU were really high. I finally upgraded to the 1.f version BIOS and now the temps are in the 50's. BIOS upgrade really helped all my systems. Great content. You got me started in CPU mining. Best thing after ETH is to CPU mine. Keep up the good work.

Will you try eco mode so that it limits powers to 7900 (non x) power. Would be a good comparison for us that have expensive power since you cant buy the 7900 anymore. (well you can but its more expensive lol)
17:51 Okay.. how to disable this built-in graphics on this processor (Unknown GPU 1002-164erc2) in the BIOS and for some reason it does not show the temperature of the processor itself (the hashrate indicates but the temperature does not)?🫤🤷♂️

I was so excited to see how u changed the oc settings on this gigabyte board but you didn't show it😔 I can't figure out how to lock the base clock on mine, I'm sure it's something obvious I'm missing. Also not sure how to lock the voltage, anytime I try it won't reboot. When you do future videos on this cpu clocks can you show how in the Gigabyte bios please? I have a 7950x and a 7900x3d .I'm waiting for apart for the 7900 x3d to come in then I'm building another CPU mining rig with the 7900x3d .as for the 7950x I'll have to wait to buy parts.
I also have 7950x 3d i use in my gaming PC and another PC with a 7900x in it I use for everyday use.

I have been using thumb drives for my 7900x rigs. Any benefit of going with nvme other that reliability? Love the channel.
Much faster I quit using thumb drives a few years ago to slow for everything and they failed a lot.
I have a bunch of 60 gig ssd I salvaged from old McDonald's terminals. Big enough for Linux, but they heat up and smell like burnt fries 😅

My CPU temps on my 5900x build are extremely high they are showing 90 how can you get them down some

what is the trick to getting such good hashrate, none of my cpu builds match your hashrate, is it all core OC? Or just up the power?
And RAM what are you running at
I have buils this, same processor & same board , but on hive OS the CPU temp doesn´t show , i have upgraded the board bios & still no temps showing on hive OS .On the bios screen of the motherboard temp is showing fine... Any help would be apreciated.

I have 2 builds one is getting me 17.5khs and the other is getting me only 7khs . Not sure what it is , I have sto k settings on both with dual sticks of DDR5 , I'm thinking it's the board the same Gigabyte board you have is the one giving me the lower hashrate

One day a miner dev will get RX to be mined on GPUs just as good. just like Wild Rig miner are improving the Ghost rider for GPUs.
The way the algo is they won't be able to that's the point of randomx gr isn't even that good on a GPU but it is profitable a CPU is still 3x the hash and 50% less power
just the name "noctua" is enough for sellers to charge you two times the price. just tell me will a deepcool single tower ag400 or ak400 be enough with your ryzen 9 7900x with your undervolt/oc settings or not. (summer time considered too)? also your PSU is expensive, introduce something cheaper.
PSU was cheap when I got it has doubled in price now.

what voltage is 0.97...cpu core voltage? or Cpu Soc Voltage?... trying to setup the same cpu as u and having trouble cant figure out how to set the cpu mhz to the 4.7 either....asus bios is strange

i tried everything ..everytime i change the cpu core volatage it doesnt post ..i have 2 rigs going right now and temps are 81degrees each cause i cant change the voltage without it getting stuck n not posting...ill pay you to set mine up =)@@RabidMining
@yoitsspud2478 which MB is it? Mentioned you can't find where to change the cpu clock the heat am guessing is due to default settings and it is boosting
correct..i turned them off untill i can figure out how to not get it too boost and keep the voltage at 1 or uner and still post..

i ended up enabling amd eco mode and temps dropped to 49 but now my hashrate is like 13.5k which is ridiculous for a 7900x but it wouldnt post for me with the lower voltages..@@RabidMining

Normally I would agree Noctua is amazing, but not for 7000 series. Noctua isn't good for it. GN has a good video for why. Basically chip location vs heat pipe location.

Also, the peerless assassin is as good or better for 7000 series and I think it's cheaper. I'd have to look. Just for future builds i mean. I love noctua so it pains me to say that. Lol!

ive never seen anyone use thermal pads instead of thermal paste for a cpu

This is Honeywell PTM7950 sheet. It initially measures 0.2mm thick, but melts at 45 Celsius and compresses and flow out from mounting pressure.
Should be good for several years without replacing.
Edit: it can melt down to under 0.0015" or 0.038mm thickness.
