I tried the same recipe with 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and it turned out extra moist and spongy cake 🎂
This would be a good starting point for a healthy tiramisu. Brush the cake halves with very concentrated brewed coffee and then on the icing layer between them, sprinkle instant coffee powder and cocoa powder and chocolate shavings instead of pecans and do the same on the top of the cake. Dang would be great like that!!
This is a keeper! Made it today, and it turned out fantastic! I used powdered erythritol and baked at 160 celcius, fan forced. Kids absolutely loved it! Thank you Dr Berg!

The days were long, and as I was doing Keto and still losing, my costume got looser and looser (Skinny Santa? LOL!) I snacked on Pecans and sipped water all day, 10 hours a day and no food compared to the other Santas and elves... They wolfed food during breaks (Carb-loading)... Fasting unblocks our own power so it comes to the surface and burns off old negative energy including spells done to us. We become so numb that most of the time we no longer know who we really are until we fast. Let me know what you do to occupy your time? I watched alot of dr berg videos, went for nature walks until i got to weak to do so and did some knitting 🎈
It's my birthday today and I am making this cake thanks so much! My husband wanted to buy me a cake and I told him no, so he said how we are going to to the birthday wish without cake, it's a tradition and since I started keto I haven't have a birthday cake, almost 4 years so I am excited about this recipe. I made something similar before, but the last two steps with the whites and cream tartar is different, that would make the cake fluffy. Thanks and god bless you dr. Ok. I didn’t have anything better to do so I added up the calories and the carbs. I did not do the fat since it doesn’t matter in Keto, as long as they are good fats. The entire cake has 5,284 calories and 95 grams carbs. For 1/10 of cake it is 528 cal with 9.5 carbs and if you have 1/12 of the cake it’s 440 cal and 7.9 carbs. That’s not bad at all....the problem is not eating too much. I figure if you decide to make the cake, then invite nine friends over and then you can make sure you only get 1/10 of the cake. You’re Welcome 🎂 Eat Cake !!
Thank you for the info. Really helpful. I found out that having keto desserts make me crave sweets more which will add more net carbs and calories as u said.

By the way, a doctor who does keto himself told me that we should eat sweeteners moderately during keto diet, because the sweet taste in it will make your body produce insulin, regardless if it's carbohydrate (real sugar) or not (stevia etc.). Insulin can cause your body to stop being on keto
Sasino _ stevia and especially monkfruit are preferable. Apparently they do not cause an insulin response like aspartame et al. But in any case high calorie foods need to be limited if you want to lose weight. So I wouldn’t recommend going wild with it.
Beating egg whites first used to keep me from making anything, but once I finally caved, I found out it wasn't all that bad afterall! This looks amazing!!! Thanks!!
I struggled with this! I didn't even wait for it to stiffen because I got too tired of it. I tried, but after a few minutes I was like, "nope". It's currently baking, hope it doesn't make a significant difference!
I just made this it’s absolutely delicious although I made one mistake I use the granulated sugar for the frosting instead of powder yikes but it’s still delicious thank you so much
I made this. It is delicious. I eat a piece for breakfast. Filling and satisfying. Next time I am skipping the frosting. I am just going to spread some cream cheese on the slice I cut.
It took mine 22 minutes. Very flat, non rising cakes, I was extremely disappointed. Dry, not sweet enough, maybe good for the bottom of a cream cake but not moist enough as a main player in a cake. Im a semi professional baker and I really was disappointed in this recipe. I think its bc almond flour settles. Every recipe using almond flour should have a sifted measurement. Against my better judgement I didnt add more cream, bc I folded int he whites thinking it would make it more moist. The batter was so dense it was nearly impossible to fold int he whites without collapsing them which happened. Defeating the whole purpose of the egg white addition, and the separation of eggs. Milk would probably be better than cream in this recipe, but I guess with keto, milk has lactose and thats why. In that case, water would have been good. No reason to waste any more time with this recipe!
I have all the ingredients & I’m going to make it tonight! I love coconut cake so I might add coconut extract & add more shredded coconut to the frosting & toast some & sprinkle on top. I've been vegan my whole life and have been permanently ketogenic since 2016. I can confirm that you can make all kinds of cakes, tarts, cookies and treats ketogenic (even vegan). The best thing about long-term ketosis, however, is that you no longer feel greedy for food or even crave it. 🙂

I will be making this. Cream cheese frosting was my favorite before keto! I’ve always eaten one piece and cut the rest into servings and froze them if I had any left over.. I hope this freezes well cuz my family won’t eat it. The frozen pieces will last me months!

It's easier with enough nutrients in one's body. After using a nutrients app like cronometer, I improved my knowlege of what nutrients were missing and corrected my nutrients intake. This made able to fast longer and need less sleep ✨✨

@@Bailey_Ray Those are called fasting muscles.. It was rough reaching the 24 hours the very first time. But the more you get used to this, the easier it becomes (it is 1 extra hour at a time). Dr. Fung's IDM program online community was a great help for me. You might want to give it a try if you are interested in extended fasting 😊 all the best.

Make sure you separate eggs This bakes at 325 35-45 minute. Recipe starts half way in.

I've been vegan my whole life and have been permanently ketogenic since 2016. I can confirm that you can make all kinds of cakes, tarts, cookies and treats ketogenic (even vegan). The best thing about long-term ketosis, however, is that you no longer feel greedy for food or even crave it. 🙂

I will be making this. Cream cheese frosting was my favorite before keto! I’ve always eaten one piece and cut the rest into servings and froze them if I had any left over.. I hope this freezes well cuz my family won’t eat it. The frozen pieces will last me months!

I have been using walnuts, done in microwave for a minute to get that crunchy nut, instead 👌🏽😁 And i think beating up egg whites in different bowl and adding at the end makes the difference !

I just made it. Cake is really good, flavor with pecans and shredded coconut . Just only frosting is too sweet. Next time I will use less sweetner. Thank you so much.

It's easier with enough nutrients in one's body. After using a nutrients app like cronometer, I improved my knowlege of what nutrients were missing and corrected my nutrients intake. This made able to fast longer and need less sleep ✨✨

21 hrs is what I did last week. Not ready for 42 yet. May get there. But -62 lbs since Dec 2 so going right direction
@@Bailey_Ray Those are called fasting muscles.. It was rough reaching the 24 hours the very first time. But the more you get used to this, the easier it becomes (it is 1 extra hour at a time). Dr. Fung's IDM program online community was a great help for me. You might want to give it a try if you are interested in extended fasting 😊 all the best.
