This has changed my life. 43 year old now. I have been hospitalised with treatment resistant, severe clinical depression since my early 20s. Had ECT treatment as in in patient on a psyche ward for 3 months. Didn't work. I have yo-yo'd in my weight due to eating my feelings & drinking excessively and anti-psychotic meds that defined my life. Calorie counting worked to a point... but old habits soon creep back in. Weight went down.. depression kicked in...weight went up. Rinse. Repeat. I have gone from 400 lbs down to 190 lbs up to 370 lbs 3 times since 2018. This was my last chance... this year, then I was going to give up. Everyrhing. I was done. Jan 10th... 361 lbs. On 3 prescription meds for depression, anxiety, and mynheart. Pre-diabetic. July 19th... 235 lbs (on the way to 190). No meds. I walk every day. 6 to 12 g carbs max. OMAD. Apple Cider Vinegar... I use Saunas... I use electrolytes... I use BVitamins, DVitamins I use milk thistle, riboflavin etc etc... but I eat clean keto. Salmon, eggs, chicken, chia, cottage cheese, brocolli, asparagus And now... No meds. Blood Sugar avg is 4.5. No depression. No anxiety. I sleep 7 hours and wake gladly at 5.00am I have saved my life and enhanced it in ways I never thought I would. I should and would have been dead. I'm thinking of working again. This isn't a miracle but feels like one. Calorie counting isn't enough. Slimming world is a disgrace... I've taken my time to understand and research all the processes and science behind the ketoenic lifestyle... the value of acetic acid and fasting. How vitally important sleep is. This all starts and ends in your mind. Everything else happens secondarily. Dr Berg. I thank you for your guidance. Also equally Thomas deLauer and James Smith for talking sense. This stuff works. If you meet these guys halfway...and put in the work, you can save your life. Good luck to you all. (apologies for the meandering ramble, but this is only youtube, and it's a brain dump. I am usually more eloquent than this). Again bless you all.
49 years old. I started my keto diet with intermittent fasting 3 1/2 months ago. I have lost 30 lbs, my belly disappeared very quickly, dropped 2 pant sizes, do 8 laps on the track and field almost every day as of now, only eat 2 x a day (9a & 3p), I'm eating foods I never thought I would, and lastly I feel great with lots of energy! A lot of the information for my journey was taken from this channel. Thank you Dr.!
69 years old was 200 pounds 2 years ago. Lost 65 ponds the first 6 months and have kept it off for a yr and a half. Went from a size 18 to a solid 10...I am gonna be 70 in July and everyone says you're almost 70??? No way!!! Sooo proud!! This is the 3rd time I've done it. You have to figure out what kind of snacks you like and turn them keto°°°mine was sweet...so many good recipes out there!!
@@Drberg hey how are u doin I did this back in August and I lost 30 lbs in one months and 50 and 3 months but when I started back eating regular I gained a little weight back very fast so how do I control my weight after losing the weight that fast because I'm back on my no sugar diet now
1. NO KETO TRANSITIONING SYMPTOMS SYMPTOMS LIKE KETO FLU, KETO FATIGUE, AND KETO RASH 2. WEIGHT LOSS - INITIAL WATER WEIGHT 3. CLOTHES ARE LOOSE AROUND THE WAIST 4. INCREASE IN ENERGY 5. I never have appetite after I workout Like a long run or HIIT.. does that mean I body is in ketosis after workouts? I always hear people say they get super hungry after workouts but I never feel the same.
Dr. Berg, you have changed my life! It's not even about the weight (from 190 lbs to 130lbs), I am no longer obsessed with food, I have insane amounts of energy, I sleep better, my mind is clear, I no longer need anxiety medication, I look like I'm in my late 20s (I'll be 43 this year)and I feel proud of myself and my new lifestyle (over a year now)! I am sharing your videos with everyone! Thank you, thank you, thank you 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 (I haven't yet done strictly healthy keto, but I do limit the amount of carbs I eat. I mostly fast between 16-18 hours every day with a 24 hour fast every week or two...i can't imagine how much improvements I will see once I do healthy keto!
Way to go! Isn’t is incredible the absolute change in every aspect of your life? I can feel in your comment how positive your life is after discovering the Keto way of nourishing your body. My oncologist recommended Keto 2 years ago to help me with the 28 lbs of fat I gained around my midsection following radical hysterectomy and immediate menopause following cancer surgery… it worked and like you I feel like I’m 30 years old again (I’m 58) and am constantly active and sleep a deep and restorative sleep. We are Blessed to have found Dr. Berg and the life changing information he shares with us. 🙏♥
Wow, awesome testimony! I no longer eat my emotions and am rarely hungry or think about food. This summer I have been able to do 20 to 21 hour Fasting most days. Amazing at 71!

On month 9 of keto and fasting , now moved to carnivore and 335lbs down so far , 335 more to go, dropped 130lbs first 2 months just from the water weight, body was swollen with edema, started at 850lbs now down to 515, hoping to get to my goal in another year we’ll see, one day at a time. But dr bergs info definetly helps people!
That is incredible . I have started a week ago . I was drinking heavily , sugar addicted , i cant believe the difference a week makes . 1st of the new month i will weigh myself . I have no idea if it will be 470lbs ( a year ago) , 450, or 500 lbs. With no other choice left - this is my last chance .
Problem with health nowadays is it cost so much money to go to the hospital . But this guy hasn’t just changed my life but my health for the better . And this is why I subscribe .
15 Days into the diet and i am having all of the above symptoms. I had coughing and wheezing problems, no energy, inflammation of the joints causing pain, severe bloating and brain fog. Since started the diet all the problems have disappeared and I feel twenty years younger. The additional benefit is that I have also started to lose weight, which is now visible to other people. It's still early days but it's about changing your lifestyle. This diet plus regular exercise is going to change my life and the results are amazing.
Hello Dr. Berg. I am a 48 years old portuguese. I started intermitent fasting, keto diet and exercice and i lost 16kgs in 2 months. I am with the weight i had at 18 years old and i MUST thank you. I learned from you what is keto diet and the way to do it. I do not have enough words to thank you. You already changed my life.
Writing from the UK. I started the Carnivore diet 4 weeks ago. I have lost over 18lbs. Sleep has improved 10 fold. I no longer have sleep apnea. Energy is through the roof, just to sort out the coffee and alcohol intake. I mainly eat beef, chicken, eggs and fish. I stopped eating bread 6 weeks ago due to IBS and started to cut out all carbs snacks etc. Also I finding that I'm drinking approximately 2-2.5 litres of sparkling water per day. Thank you for the video.
Hey from uk also just started carnivore a week ago jut struggling with finding meat sources and especially pasteurised eggs and raw milk I can’t seem to find anywhere ! 😊
I am writing to you from Greece and you have changed my life. I've never been overweight, but I've gained a few extra pounds over the last decade, which I'm slowly losing. But what I did not expect is the miracle that intermittent fasting brought to the biggest problem that had been tormenting me for over 20 years or so. The very frequent (almost daily) headaches. With the omad method, which I have been following for some time, it has decreased drastically. No doctor could find the cause. No doctor thought that my insulin and glucose levels might be too high. Doctors were loading me with various pills, while there is such a simple solution for our health. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤
My headaches stopped also, amazing and unexpected. Amongst many other health benefits. My headaches stopped due to change of diet (LCHF), not time restricted eating - which I started unintentionally several months later.
@@margaretgibbs1007 That's great. I'm glad it helped you. I know that if I had put even more weight on the keto diet, my results would have been even better and faster. Anyway, I noticed a big difference. I reduced a lot of sweets, but did not eliminate them completely. Maybe I'll get around to it sometime. But omad taught me to break the bad habit of emotional eating. In recent years, I've always had a craving for chocolate and other unhealthy snacks like potato chips, etc. At least I don't have space for that now, although I sometimes treat myself to a piece of chocolate at the end of a meal. It's great to get rid of bad habits and watch how positively things suddenly change.

Minor observation. Constant and insatiable hunger (leading to obesity) is such a western thing it’s weird to read about lol. Where I’m originally from there is an abundance of grain/legumes and starch makes up the vast majority of diet and obesity (least of all morbid) is practically unheard of. It’s not fat/ketosis or carbs, it’s the lack of any fulfilment beyond the physical that leads to insatiable hunger (and other forms of materialism).
I knew nothing about the Keto diet. I recently made a few adjustments in my diet in order to lose a few pounds for the new year. I have lost 5 pounds in 10 days! I started to get worried because I thought I was doing something wrong. after doing some research, I discovered that I was actually on a Keto diet, without knowing it. I am now fascinated and consuming all the information I can about this diet. I am flabbergasted at the amount of weight I have lost in such this short period of time.
I wish I saw this earlier because I lost 6kg In the first 20 days and when I was losing barely anymore weight I fell off the diet for a month, but this video is helping me because I’m going to retry, keep up the good work everyone

My friends laugh at me doing keto. I already lost 35 lbs since March 2023. It has been 4 months then. Both of my friends are not thin and they have big mid sections. I adviced them to do this diet, and still bugged off the idea. They are still laughing and insisted that keto is not for everyone. One of my friends did a blood test recently. He is now Prediabetic, 6.4 on his A1C, also high uric acid, cholesterol. I adviced again, they shrugged off the idea. The other friend, has heart disease. This day, they still insist that keto diet is not universal. They laugh at my progress. Now I focus on my progress and just let them be. I dont want to laugh at them or ridicule even. I just pity deep inside. Dr. BERG, I really admire your content here on TH-cam. Thank you for this! Because of you, I am doing amazing progress and also on the safe side. Cheers
Sometimes understandings come from unexpected situations. Like maybe they get invited to a party and only keto foods is available and they won’t be hungry for a day or so 😅
There are some people who cannot be helped, no matter how much we want to help them or how we package that help. Sometimes, they wake up and make the change themselves. Sometimes, they never do.
I started KETO almost 13 months ago, not to lose weight but to regain health and get off three prescriptions. I jumped in blindly in the beginning then discovered you Dr. Berg and also added intermittent fasting to the KETO. I am so grateful to have lost 79 pounds so far and I didn't think it would be possible for me to lose even one pound. I feel so much better and plan to stay on track for the rest of my life. Thank you for your very valuable videos that have made this possible.
Me personally, I started losing the most weight after reading the book Woman’s weight loss secrets: the unspoken truth, a few things you are mentioning in this video are also in the book
Dr Berg, you may be getting tired of all the praise, but let me add to them. You are clear, informative and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you. I went from 94 kilos to 83 and need to lose 4 more. Feeling great. You are the best.
I woke up in a keto state. Not hungry after a 44 hour fast. I stopped eating at noon one day, did not eat the next, then give myself a 4 hour window from 8am to noon to eat. My goal during that time is to eat better and better each time. When I’m well nourished, I fast comfortably. I didn’t do it for weight loss, but I lost 9 lbs so far this week.
Almost 4 months of doing strict keto and intermittent fasting I hit 50 lbs loss. I have about 30-40 more lbs to go. Thank you Dr Berg for all the helpful information on our bodies! I never was able to do this but keto has been the one. Mentally and physically.
That's fantastic! Congratulations! I would love to hear about your success! Please use this link to upload your story: www.drberg.com/add-client-success-story
Eat the best quality beef you can afford, be that burger patties, mince/ground beef or steaks, eat once a day as much beef as you like, cooked in grass finished butter or tallow, after 90 days you can try to introduce eggs, cheese, an white meats, good luck :) @@cosmic_1111
Signs 4 & 5 are the most fun to experience. You're done with exercise but your energy level is through the roof. It feels like you have more energy after than before. With high ketone levels your bio computer is kinda in turbo mode. You feel like you process more information than before. Your mind is sharp like a leopard on the hunt. Doc, You could add sign 10. Faster wound healing. I had a bad cut on the hand. Weak later healed, another week i couldn't tell the exact spot.
I trusted you Dr Berg and my life has improved 100%. I love the science behind eating fat as main fuel. I left the keto diet after going from 17 stone to 12/4. Put all the weight back on and had a heart attack. Back on keto, weight down to 14/9. Never hungry, belly disappearing.
I made it, I'm in ketosis! The most satisfying thing is that you feel so energized and in generally in a ver good and stable mood - and I went two sizes lower in my pants size.
This diet saved my life in 2018 due to insulin resistance, fertility problems and depression. Years later I’ve started it again after having a baby in 2019 and again my depression has lifted and again losing weight. This diet is incredible. Keeping up with it for the long term is the challenge.
I do one meal a day but am not strictly following low carb. My hunger has been gone for a couple years now. I think the body will adapt even though you’re not fully in ketosis. The body is a brilliant learning power house and adjusts. I have no appetite issues during the day in my fasting window.
another one as well as being able to go longer without getting hungry, is being able to not get moody, feeling shaky or unable to concentrate between meals. Not just not hungry but not 'hangry' too.
Thanks Dr Berg, I'm so glad I've discovered your TH-cam channel, I'm 75yrs I'm following your "Keto" diet, I'm feeling 20yrs younger, walking 6km a day, have lots of energy lose some weight and eating once a day. You're a gift out of the hand of GOD ALMIGHTY. I've recommended you and your TH-cam videos to all my family & friends 🙌👏🙌👏
truly, you are a GREAT educator. These 9 signs are so simple, and it is so wonderful how you are pointing them out here, to clear out any confusion. TY.
The repair done to the nervous system and cognitive function, your mood and energy levels makes the ketogenic diet a great tool for people healing from CPTSD that stems from childhood trauma (or any long term trauma.)
51 years of age, started a month ago. I started at 288 and this am I am 261. I eat a carnivore diet in a 6 hr window then i fast 18 hrs. Works great i feel way better.
I did Jordan Peterson's Lion Diet for 2 months where I only ate beef steaks seasoned with salt and drank only water and I didn't get any rashes, diarrhoea, headaches or fatigue. Felt great and lost over 50 pounds. I did the OMAD as well and ate 2 pounds of steak everyday. I did no exercise. But as soon as I started eating carbs again I put on weight almost immediately. I can't do this Lion Diet every day for the rest of my life. I need to find my balance.
when i informed one of my CHF clients that Keto is the best thing for the heart, he hit the pause button; he was a strict vegan. albeit it he was, his heart was still failing. when i attempted to inform him that all those grains, nightshades, fruits were his Achilles heel, he seriously considered, terminating my service. fast-forward - he is slowly, ...very slowly transitioning to full-blown Keto. his CHF symptoms are rapidly subsiding; i.e., he has more energy, he is not out-of-breath climbing stairs, ect... thank you Doc for your PROFOUND, and i UNDERSCORE, your SIGNIFICANT, optimal health contributions; the Godsend. 🙏
Is my 3rd day fasting, watching your videos and I feel exactly like that… not as hungry as I was before! I did a 12-day detox diet that made me suffer SO much, I was constantly hungry thinking about food!!! I’ll keep you’ll updated :)
58 and 6ft4...now 5 months into OMAD/keto I started one evening thanks to these videos and the comments...never believed it was that simple... from 300 to 240 pounds...with help of some extra fasting days... and feeling great... still 20 pounds to go saw all the videos more than once, but this video refreshes my memory and helps me a lot... would like to thank you gracias, from Spain
SPOT ON. Keto changed it all. I was 280 at one point and now I'm 235. Living off eggs, ground meats, cheese and veggies. Cutting sugar was so hard and of course I fold. It's okay to eat more carbs than you should one time. But don't let it be a reason to stop the diet. Just start again instead. SO much of it is mental. I was eating insanely poorly. It was bad. Nightly heartburn. Bloated stomach and face 24/7. Extreme binging. Day 2 of Keto I got those flu symptoms sooooo bad. Spent all night crying and throwing up. More emotionally crying because wanting to look thinner is a struggle if you've been big for years. Realizing it might be successful this time around is enlightening. I'm disabled and realized if I want less weight for my bad legs to carry, got to lose the weight. Quit vaping, started keto, and the gym 3 times a week. Consistency truly key. So yeah, if you see this doc thanks for putting out all this accurate information that clearly inspires so many to be better versions of themselves. I hope everyone has nothing but success in losing weight this way!
Wow I really needed this video when I started Keto in April. I had to find out by experience why my weight loss was slowing down or stopping altogether. 15kg lost so far and anther 15kg to go. So hard to believe my overweight fat is/was 33.3% of my bodyweight. I gained the weight when I cured my hyperthyroidism. I'm now hypothyroid, so if I can lose kilos anyone can. Thank for sharing this video.
I’m feeling all these symptoms 100% I was stunned today, I had to stop and think why is the lupus on my scalp not inflamed ? Of course I thought right away it’s the diet , I have outweighed all the positive benefits of keto diet and it’s been 8 months now and I’m loving I’m not hungry , my mind has days where it’s clear etc, and my memory can be good, I have less sleep , but i is have more energy through the day, and I am more patient with everyone including my pets too. I’m really enjoying the benefits of ketosis and I hope it will be my ultimate change of lifestyle .
@@KetoWorks only problem is I don’t get enough sleep , but I have to say I have lots of energy through the day . I might fall asleep about 10pm but wake up at 12am and find it hard to fall asleep until maybe 2 am and then I’m awake from 6 am . What is doing this ? No carbs ? Too much coffee during the day ? I try stop my coffee intake about midday and I stick to herbal tea from there on
@@kyliejacobs6817 Right, stopping conventional coffee will surely help. But Dr Berg has videos on the benefits of a SMALL cup of organic coffee, in the mornings. Also, some of Dr Berg’s videos /articles on waking up in the night / on sleep in general, may help. Also on the adrenals. Using his data, I now sleep 😴 very well through the night.
hey 56yr old here, just started I guess dropping carbs and sugar 3 weeks ago and this list is so accurate. Lost 7.0kg ( not sure in lbs) and loving life.
This is the first time of all the nutritional/diet/lifestyle videos I've seen (which is a lot) where someone bothered to take the time to explain what water weight actually is. I appreciate that so much, thank you for that!

See below why I need to check into Dr Berg's Videos on a regular basis. Back in February 2023 i was 185 Kg I watched Your videos and finally decided to give it a go. Its now July 14 and just weighed in at 152.4 Kg. Everything in this video is going on in my life now. The main battle I have had lately is that my weight loss has slowed but after watching this i realised my average 1 Kg a week is really good. I'm not walking yet as i have a tricky knee but the energy levels are thru the roof. Typically I now eat 2 times a day and the hunger signals are now very weak. A drink of water will put them to sleep for over an hour and this never happened before. When i do this i'm get a mental boost because I know that is when i'm burning fat. Doctor took me off my Diabetes meds as i showed him an average of 6,0. Surprisingly cholesterol is really good 4.6 last week.
It is so important for us to keep in mind that sugar causes us to hold onto water. We only credit salt with holding water. The fact that we have 3 grams of water per gram of sugar stored on our body is vital info. If I eat an extra 2 or 3 grams of sugar everyday (so 23 grams of carb), although I may be able to remain in ketosis, if my body doesn't need them, I end up storing 9 grams of water because the sugar will be stored! That's a total of 12 grams storage each day. In one month, I'd gain a pound. These are the details we don't know that allow us to undo our success.
Day 33 of my 40 days and 40 nights water fast. 41.3lbs lost so far. One thing I’ve noticed is that I’m pretty acidic right now, and might be experiencing some gouty symptoms in my ankle and in my left collarbone. But then again, past couple of days, I haven’t hydrated properly either. Overall, I’m extremely happy that I started this journey, and am accomplishing what I set out to do in the beginning, which was to do a hard reset on my life. And while that had a lot to do with weight loss, it also had to do with removing toxic people from my life, social media, alcohol, and making room in my life for more important things, like learning new skills for a new career, finances, and just life in general.
I did Keto for 2 years, I felt great at first and lost weight but my skin aged so now I eat all fruit and veg and even though I am 56 everyone says I look 40 - 45 !! I rarely eat carbs but now and again I have a salad or chicken sandwich or veggie pizza all my food is 100 % organic. I was shocked by no.9 as my acupuncturist and doctor claimed there was something wrong with me due to loss of appetite I was doing 18hrs intermittent but due to lifestyle change I only do 16 hrs now
40 lbs in less than 4 months, following your suggestions. Thank you Dr. Berg. You are giving me a second shot at level, at 52! I was able to go off meds, and MY Rheumatoid Arthritis is not as bad. I can also do more intense workouts. I still have a way to go, but I feel & look so much better!
Have been on the keto/carnivore diet for 6 days now and I’ve lost 6.3 pounds, it’s just water weight but I hope to keep seeing these results, I was 174 now I am 167.7 and my goal is 120-115 pounds! (If someone comments on this video after like idk 2 months, I’ll give an update) but so far I have almost all 9 of the symptoms of ketosis so at least I know I’m doing it right 😅
I'll be the one to comment😂 please give me an update if you're still doing it❤ I'm on day 5 and have lost 5 lbs. Water of course. But I want to get down to 120. I'm 134 now from 150 initial weight 2 years ago. My body completely stalled after doing intermittent fasting, and would not get lower than 135. So, here I am doung keto, seeing if that works to get me down
@@Mary-lj2uu sadly, with all the birthdays and vacations I’ve been on, I’ve stopped the keto diet but I started again yesterday. I did it for 2 weeks straight and lost 9 pounds. I recommend for you to add in one 24 hour fast each week and going in a calorie deficit, that will definitely help you in losing weight. After about a week and a half, losing weight will definitely slow down but don’t worry, it’s still working because it’s getting at your fat storages and not just the water weight so keep doing it, being keto was one of the best things I have done to lose weight, it made me feel so much better and a lot less bloated, but I would also throw in a small cheat meal once every 2 weeks so you don’t torture yourself 😅 keep up your good work!
@@rajeevarora4543 yes, normally I fast once a week, mostly on Sundays, sometimes Mondays. Other days I do 17/7, I fast 17 hours and eat 7 hours of the day but I only eat when I am hungry. Gave up Carbs entirely 2weeks ago and definately noticed all these symptons the one I appreciated the most was the less inflammation and pain in my bones.I also only eat once a day too.
This is almost exactly how I went from 425 to 210 and a size 60 to a 34. in the beginning I was losing like 5lbs a week and dropped to about 1-2 somewhere near 250lbs. Losing weight also caused my shoes to go down a size and I grew like 2inches taller.

Live in the UK and only being 43 and 6ft 4 I'm about a stone over my ideal weight so not massively over and it only shows a bit on my belly. This is due to years of a high carb diet, coca cola daily can, my weakness and crisps. Cup of tea 3 or 4 times a day with sugar. I thought my diet wasn't that bad as i was eating fruits and veg. Then most days after toast and jam in the morning I would then eat lunch at 12 which would be a tuna sarnie, white bread, salad cream and crisps and a coke. I would then crash and need a 20 minute nap. Same in the evening after dinner. Started Keto eating omelette with Jamón in the morning and would feel full till dinner. Then something like Rib Rye and broccoli for dinner. Replaced all fizzy drinks with water or warm lemon water. 7 days so far and yes I had a small crash and yes i get the sugar cravings but have powered through and i can't believe the benefits im already feeling. Mentally more alert, no more naps or feeling sleepy from sugar crashes and energy leading to multiple walks which i never did before. Also belly fat is already started to shed. Can only be good! Thank you.
At age 64 and retired, I'm 7 weeks in, mostly in the education phase and beginning to lower the carb intake and eat more fats. Changes in diet plus the medications to kick start the process. I'm down from 220 to 212 (April to June). At first there was no weight loss, I actually gained 3 lbs at the start but now the weight is starting to come down. Blood sugar and BP are coming down. I definitely noticed the difference in my breath. Feeling more energetic and brain fog is lifting.
I do Omad every single day for months and even beyound Omad forexample for 30 or 40 hours, and if i feel hunger i eat keto friendly foods and beverages, but when i want to break my fast at the end of my omad or 30-40hors, i eat everything even high carb stuffs; surprisingly, i have no issue on the other day and also got all signs and symptoms of ketosis state the next day again. What i want to say is that its not necessary to restrictly follow no carb or definitely low carb diet to reach that. I realize every body metabolism differ from the other. Moreover, ketone or growth hormone production is not a 'zero-one' mechanism, because we are not robot according to one of your latest speechs, everything just occurs at the same time in our body.
Lost 8 pounds in two weeks starting Keto. Then leveled off before losing a total of 16 pounds. I did do IF but was losing so much weight I had to stop. I continue to do Keto but can only fast12 to 15 hours a couple of times/week . Thank you Dr. Berg.
Regret not knowing some of these health lessons BEFORE i had cancer, my gall bladdrr was removed, n became diabetic n put on metformin. Trying a new way to eat n live n have lost some weight. So much happier! TY
Dr Berg - I am a 65year old man who retired 8 months ago. Since this time my weight has increased by over 10kg (from 79 to 89kg with my ideal weight being 75kg) and I am usually someone who has struggled to put on weight and can eat whatever I want and how much I want my whole life. I am on my second attempt at the keto diet and after a few weeks I haven't lost a gram. I have cut out almost all the carbs I usually eat (bread, pasta, sweet potatoes) and eat 2 meals a day with at least a 12 to 16 hour fast from dinner till lunch the next day. I have been walking briskly at least 5 days per week for at least 1 hour and many times for 1 hour and 45 minutes (about a 10km walk) and also having gym workouts of about 1 hour 4 to 5 times per week. I never feel hungry (this has been the case since I was 60) and eat much less than I used to. I have been feeling quite fatigued at various times and often feel wide awake at 3am in the morning for no good reason. I drink plenty of fluids per day (at least 2 litres) and since 60 have needed to get up to go to the toilet multiple times per night (up to 5). I really want to lose the fat belly and the visceral fat surrounding my organs and get back close to my ideal weight. Am I doing something wrong or does it take longer than a few weeks to see and feel the positive changes ? I would appreciate your advise.
I've been on clean keto for only 6 days, and I feel so different! It is really amazing, next week I will start exercising every day. I am on a super low carb keto. So I had to adjust, my energy levels are defiantly rising!
Im 30 im not in a ketosis but i dont crave for sugar anymore. I eat like 60-70 gr of sugar a day and sometimes even lower. I didnt realise lowering your sugar intake would make your cravings go away like this. Im losing weight and i gain muscle mass with my exercise. I thank you with all my heart. Gr from Türkiye 🇹🇷
Great video. I am constantly debating whether intermittant fasting or ketogenic diet is better. I think 24 hour fasting is much easier to actually do. It's more straight forward and you are more sure that you are not cheating if all you're consuming is water. But I love it when my body is in ketosis. It takes discipline, but it's highly effective. I think either or both are great as long as you eat clean.
Dr Berg April I started Keto And since May 24 I started walking I really don’t think the walking is helping me lose weight physically BUT I am almost at 10,000 steps That’s about 2 miles I believe the walking is exhausting me to the point I’m too tired to eat too much food. Thanks for listening I’m 73
Just started a Ketovore type diet to reduce my joint pains, and after only a week I'd say it down about 80%+, I can walk easily again. I'm not being religious about things, just eating meats when hungry, not worried about how cooked, my thinking is that I've been eating rubbish for nearly 60 years, so the little rubbish remaining in my diet can't hurt me anymore than it already has. Looking forward to doing this going forward!
Dr. Berg, you have been the best inspiration in getting my life back healthy as I was failing at it without the right information that I needed for years, and I want to thank you for being who you are and what you do to help so many people including myself!!!!
On my 5th week of keto. I did get an itchy rash about 2-3 weeks in. With the help of castor oil it went away in 2 days. So far I am enjoying it. It is IF and keto for me.
Dr Berg has helped me understand my body much better. Most of my life; I've been very thin and rarely get hungry. In fact for me, the problem is actually eating in the first place. This was always a very confusing experience for me, because most people I know have to watch their appetites because they can eat and eat and eat. I just can't do that! When I go to a restaurant, I can only eat half of the meal, I save the rest for another time, etc. I never understood why until I found Dr. Berg's videos. See, my dad died when I was a child and my mom had to work all the time; so I basically fed myself. So, growing up, I ate very rarely; because honestly I was much more interested in video games. There was a period of time, I would wake up and just eat bacon and eggs. Looking back; it makes a lot of sense that I wasn't hungry - I must have been in ketosis. It wasn't something wrong with my body - it was the fact that since being a kid; I ate few carbs, and rarely ate 3 meals a day. So, I must not have felt hungry because I was not consuming enough carbs to be hungry like other people. Nowadays I've confirmed this because, if I wake up and start eating carb-heavy food straight away; then I get much more hungry and I can eat a lot of carbs throughout the day. But its kinda funny how to become hungry; one has to eat...
In my case I am also a very thin, but always hungry and eat at least 3 times per day. Have some insulin resistance, and I feel like if I'm start this keto thing I would die because I have no visual fats.
Even a super thing person has fat available for the body to burn, I wouldn't worry about it. Eating carbs is a life of suffering. Once you get off them, you realize that they were causing most of your stomach and bathroom problems. Personally when I don't eat carbs like bread and rice and sugar, I have almost no problems. That in itself is quite motivating to be honest... having pains in the bathroom sucks!@@vadymvv
I'm intermittent fasting and I feel great... Thanks. 16 mostly sometimes 18 sometimes 20 and sometimes 24 hrs of fast I don't feel hungry but with full energy..
I've been fasting for 6 days. The change is remarkable. A complete boost in brain power. I haven't been hungry at all. I do drink water and caffeine-free herbal teas (in ice). I haven't gained energy, however, I finally slept all night without waking up. I'm adrenal-type and still working on fixing it. Most likely this is my lack of sleepiness.
Please can you do more videos to address people who are slim or TIFO? I lost weight initially and didn't have it to lose and now putting it back on. I am a ketovore as I have symptoms of oxalate poisoning. Would be good to look at building up weight and muscle than weight loss for those of us who struggle with that:)
I just started a carnivore diet to help with insulin resistance and a metabolic reset as I am not able to fast. I also believe I have histamine resistance. I have suffered from chronic hives at night for more than 10 years and the doctors I saw had no clue and were not interested in solving the problem. I figured out on my own that Zyrtec once a day prevented the hives. I could not skip a day without Zyrtec or went into terrible hives all over my body. Some of the symptoms of histamine resistance is hives and headaches after you eat. I am only on day 3 of the carnivore diet for the first time in my life and have not taken any Zyrtec or antihistamines for 3 days.
The inflammation issue was a sign for me. Prior to being on keto, my Dr in UK said carbs are fine and to avoid fats and meats. I was suffering from gout for about a year however since I moved to keto, all inflammation issues gone, all praise is due to Allāh!
Yes, this works! I had started 2 meals with 6hr window, easily moved to 1.5 meals 4 hrs, and then 1 meal. I listened to my body by alternating 2 meals 1.5 meals, it worked fabulously! Lost some 30 lbs in 2 months felt great! Note my meals were very nutritious large salads, raw veggies, olive oil, olives, feta cheese grass-fed meats, poultry, eggs and salmon... but today I'm back to square one, sadly Stress took over from losing a dear family. member. Planning to give it a go again & make it a lifestyle this time. (oh and please note I would eat half a whole wheat /ancient grains pita bread with my meals... on occasion, I noticed it didn't disrupt and worked fine for me. I was walking at least 5K -8K a day as well as keeping busy.
I won’t go exactly into it, but wow I finally did it!!! I feel great all the way around biggest thing I had to tell myself was “if your not hungry don’t eat!” I can hear you saying it haha
Felt keto flu on the second day, after that I was good. I felt like i seriously wanted to give up. I felt weak, dizzy, irritated and no energy. After the second day on the 3rd day i felt good. Happy❤
Thank you Dr Eric. Went on keto 4 months ago and was peeing like a horse for the first few weeks! I love spinach and salads anyway, so I never had keto flu. I went all in from the start with 16:8 fast which I continue to this day. Keto is now a way of life rather than a diet. I've lost almost 60lbs and my waist has gone from almost 40 inches, back to my younger 34 inches. I'm 67, never been on meds and always felt quite fit. However, I feel fitter than I have ever been and my mood is mostly super composed - neither hyper up or hyper down, which happened on occasions in the past. I wish I went on keto 30 years ago. Thank you for all your advice and recommendations. You are a godsend, sir🙏👍
I know this works because I am living proof! My whole life I was a carb-aholic and so is my family. I had all the symptoms pain, bloating anxiety, fatty liver and so on 4 weeks now and my life is changing I am never staving just comfortable hungry at meal time, I am doing OMD and am doing very clean KETO. I lost 16 pounds already without any exercise. I feel less pain and am very calm, my stomach is so notably flater. The best part is I know I am saving my life at 56 years of age.I also love what I eat.I feel 100% different than when I was a vegan I was nervous and had irritable bowel all the time. So FOLLOW Dr. Berb's info and love your body and mind again! Love yourself enough to do this.A couple of days of adjustment and I promise you will never be HANGERY again!
I have a question for Dr. Berg (or maybe anybody with knowledge). I know that Dr. Berg speaks against Sugar and I have cut back on sugar SIGNIFICANTLY thanks to the "What Happens If You Stop Eating Sugar for 14 Days" video. But, I go to the Saint Louis Bread Company (aka Paneras), and they have a drink there called "Charged Lemonade: Plant Based", and every time I drink that, I feel WAYYYYYYYYY better!! I could think better, I have more energy, my creativity comes back, I do feel more charged and I get a BIG boost from that and I tend to feel more alive. Heck, try it out yourself if you're at the Saint Louis Bread Company/Paneras! The thing is, this drink has sugar in it. And maybe an unhealthy amount. But, I sure feel better after drinking it. Hence, I was wondering what that drink have in it and could there be some less sugary alternatives that could give me the same boost that I talked about above? I like those drinks because for some reason, they again help me with my creativity when I make my music, etc.
I'm 30 yr old,I had knee pain for atleast last 5yrs so much so that I thought there might be some ligament or cartilage damage. Just after 2weeks of keto it's completely gone!!
It’s incredible but the mood is really improving on keto. 2 weeks ago I had so much anxiety and general tension. At that point I was already doing intermittent fasting. I then started keto and wishing a week I noticed I started feeling happy. Nothing much changed externally (even though I had a good week, but a couple of weeks ago I’d still find something to feel unhappy about. Now I’m just so relaxed - it helps me at work, at home. I never heard of this sign of ketosis before but I truly confirm it.
Had a heavy sugar intake no focus i was keep forgeting things started with zero intake. first week was hell feel like an addict headache, tired no mood to do anything sleeping issues. after a week i feel like an new person. 🙂
Bro I know now that dr berg is legit , after 3days of keto I became another person , I didn't want food at all , like 2 meals in the day and between them no appetite at all , first time in my 23 years of age , dr berg keep it up pls , I hope the best for you .
I’ve planned my next keto diet to start on the Monday next week. My plan of action is to go for a 2 stone drop in weight from 15 stone down to 13 stone. I’m going to cut of sugar completely and any for of carbohydrates sticking to mainly red meats and vegetables. I’m also going to implement intermittent fasting into the mixture of things staying under a 1000 caloric restriction. I know I have to do this to help me mentally as well as majorly my physical health. I’m also doing 10-15k steps a day currently. This whole year has been about trying to transform from being overweight to a more healthy and sustainable lifestyle for myself.
I follow the great doctor's advice and plan and it seems like a miracle. Everything he says is 1000% spot on. All those 9 signs are exactly what I have. But I made one change in the time I eat my one meal per day. First it was at 17:00 but I read a new research saying that the best for the glucose in the blood is to eat in the first 8 hours after you wake up. Now I eat at 13:00 and it is so much better. I get much more energy during the day that I can use and I also sleep much better. Once more Thank You so Much Dear Doctor.
As a diabetic in Finland I am lucky enough to get ketone-strips for blood measurement for free. Dr. Berg changed my health and bloodglucose balance a lot. I had high HDL and LDL, but very low trigls. I went to check my apoB/a1 and it was just perfect. It gave me a relief about the LDL. I am on Atorvastatin 10mg and I am not having any side effects. Biggest thing among keto which Dr. Berg introduced to me was the importance of potassium. I try to eat lots of veggies but I also take 1000mg x 1-3 pills as a supplement. It stopped my nightly urinations and made blood pressure more stable and increased the metabolism of glucose storage and a some of the insulin sensitivity.
Salmon, eggs, chicken, chia, cottage cheese, brocolli, asparagus
And now...
No meds. Blood Sugar avg is 4.5. No depression. No anxiety. I sleep 7 hours and wake gladly at 5.00am
I have saved my life and enhanced it in ways I never thought I would.

Amazing results and success with a made-up mind. Thank you for sharing.🎉🎉
Please watch Dr Sten Ekberg as well, he is excellent at explaining how it all works.
Congratulations! Wonderful!
Too long-winded.
That's fantastic! I would love to hear about your success! Please use this link to upload your story:

Now I know why I'm not hungry. ❤
Had hoped to find this exact comment. Thank you.
@genxena23
Bravo!
Don't look back.
Keep sailing forward.
Wow, awesome testimony! I no longer eat my emotions and am rarely hungry or think about food. This summer I have been able to do 20 to 21 hour Fasting most days. Amazing at 71!

Great job keep it going 👍 toast to your health. You should be as proud as a peacock 🦚.
Wow what an incredible weightloss. Keep going 🎉
Amazing. Keto on!
Hello Dr.
All of this apps to me now on two years of keto life style. 125 lbs lost no pain and so happy at 71
two years!! long time : ) can I ask - how many grams of carbs do you normally have a day?
Wow 🤩 that’s so awesome to read!

Not feeling hunger in ketosis is a dream come true
Yes
Same here
I fast daily as well. About an avg of 15hrs a day. Brain fog and inflammation is decreasing
Same here no hunger more energy good mood you saved my life doc
HOW?????
Any update

Cheers
Yes, best to focus on your progress and hopefully they will see by your example! Keep it up!
It's amazing. Most ppl won't listen their addictions to certain foods runs deep ❤
Keep up with your keto diet. Your friends are not good friends, they will try to leave your diet becsuse it is very difficult for them to do like you.
Less inflammation via autophagy, IF and healthy keto is very motivating.
Nearly exact same results/time table.. A1c from 6.4 to 5.0.. I'm just chapped it took me to late midlife to learn this..
Congratulations! Wonderful!
Do you exercise or you just do the diet and fasting?
Me personally, I started losing the most weight after reading the book Woman’s weight loss secrets: the unspoken truth, a few things you are mentioning in this video are also in the book
Ty
Please use this link to upload your story:

Is your goal just to lose weight?

Eat the best quality beef you can afford, be that burger patties, mince/ground beef or steaks, eat once a day as much beef as you like, cooked in grass finished butter or tallow, after 90 days you can try to introduce eggs, cheese, an white meats, good luck :)

Signs 4 & 5 are the most fun to experience. You're done with exercise but your energy level is through the roof. It feels like you have more energy after than before.
Wow 😯 thanks for sharing!
I made it, I'm in ketosis! The most satisfying thing is that you feel so energized and in generally in a ver good and stable mood - and I went two sizes lower in my pants size.
So cool 👍 🎉🎉
Incredible!
This diet saved my life in 2018 due to insulin resistance, fertility problems and depression. Years later I’ve started it again after having a baby in 2019 and again my depression has lifted and again losing weight. This diet is incredible. Keeping up with it for the long term is the challenge.

Good for you. 👍
That's impressive!
Bravo! Longest I’ve done so far is 72 hours
I do one meal a day but am not strictly following low carb. My hunger has been gone for a couple years now. I think the body will adapt even though you’re not fully in ketosis. The body is a brilliant learning power house and adjusts. I have no appetite issues during the day in my fasting window.
Another thing I notice with keto diet is my sleep quality is so much better. thank you Dr Eric Berg.
Very glad to be of help.
Hi I'm starting the keto diet just few days back but I can't sleep at night without eating the stomach growls and I'm starving will this go away?
another one as well as being able to go longer without getting hungry, is being able to not get moody, feeling shaky or unable to concentrate between meals. Not just not hungry but not 'hangry' too.
This is seriously so cool to read 🎉🎉

Do you exercise or you just do the diet and fasting?

Just started my keto journey at 62. Thank you for this very good video
Wonderful. Keto on!
Awesome 👏
PLEASE, please, please make sure your taking good healthy strong ELECTROLYTES !!!!

So science needs more investigations not to prescribe a unique instruction for all.

9 out of 9. So grateful to you Dr. Berg. No regrets and I will never go back.

My pleasure!

Thanks for the insight.
Awesome 👏 thanks for sharing 🎉
Nearly 7 months keto and hit 40llb off, good salad meat and EV avocado oil drizzled over😊
Fantastic!
Fantastic!
Had a heavy sugar intake no focus i was keep forgeting things started with zero intake. first week was hell
feel like an addict headache, tired no mood to do anything sleeping issues.
after a week i feel like an new person. 🙂
Bro I know now that dr berg is legit , after 3days of keto I became another person , I didn't want food at all , like 2 meals in the day and between them no appetite at all , first time in my 23 years of age , dr berg keep it up pls , I hope the best for you .
Bad breath was also a sign of ketosis for me and my wife. Bad sweat smell also
I also had issues of bad sweat smell. Using coconut oil on my body and under my arms solved that for me!
I just noticed the bad sweat smell today I wasn’t sure what it was haha that makes sense
Probably need more magnesium glycinate.
Grateful for you and these videos. Big changes happening for me for first time in 59 years. THANK YOU 💙
Amazing 🎉
I'm glad for you!
