I remember watching this 7months ago and thinking “I’m gonna do this and then I’ll comment on the video about my success” and this is that moment! I’ve lost over 25kilos and look so healthy, lean and small again! Only problem is.. none of my clothes fit! Thankyou dr berg. I’ll be doing some ab challenges and skipping to tone up my tummy and body :)
It's so damn easy. I started 19 weeks ago and dropped 14kg without exercise and only eating once a day. Of course zero carbs, zero seed oils, zero processed foods. And eating a whole lemon every day.
@@samreenbi8693 Basically what Ronald said. No diet involved. You have to start to see sugar and carbs as poison because that is what they are. Humans are not supposed to eat sugars, carbs, processed foods and seed oils. You have to keep your insulin down as much as possible. Here's some videos that will explain it : Dr Pradip Jamnadas - The Bittersweet Truth, The Fat Lies, The Insane benefits of Fasting. Watch them in order above. Everything you've been told by food companies, doctors and marketers is a LIE. When you realise you've been lied to and deceived then you start to understand.
I remember that moment the first time I lost weight. As usual, I went to go lay down after eating until l I couldn't move anymore and started the very next day controlling myself. It took about 6 months but I lost 30 pounds and changed my relationship with food. Then I started getting skinny shamed to the point of gaining it all back but I am back at it again and won't listen to the negative comments this time. I originally got down to 5 2” 130 and am back at 160 now but will be happy even if I can get back to 150 again. It's amazing remember your moment of realizations that things have to change though!
20g of carbs? Yeah maybe if you don't lift weights, that's insanely low and would never be suitable for a person that likes to lift. Carbs is your body's primary fuel source to keep your body functioning and do everyday tasks, they're not the enemy. Get over your 80s mentality.
@@LeeEverett1 it's not for every one, carbs are very inflammatory for my body. I have more joint pain, headaches, wake up phlegmy. When I keep carbs low, I have mental clarity, my joints don't ache and no headaches, but I love my potatoes, rice, 😭😭😭 so it's difficult for me to stay on Keto, I lost 20lbs last time I was on in, but has a hard time sustaining it.
@@elenak2813 You have simple carbs and complex carbs, simple carbs are fine in moderation but your main focus should be complex carbs; i.e. brown rice, brown pasta, grains, vegetables, sweet potatoes, oatmeal etc. If you're eating a bunch of white bread, normal pasta, and white or fried rice of course it's going to make you feel all inflamed and shitty.
Summary of this video:- 1. 7 cup salad a day before meals 2. Hand Full of protein for adults.. lower protein intake for old 3. take fats ( olives, olive oil, dry fruits).. Do intermittent fasting in which one can take breakfast at 12pm and dinner at 6pm. 4. Take nutrition (vit b complex, electrolytes) 5. Don't feel deprived.
I eat one meal a day. I lift weights and I eat only meat, eggs, and lots of fat. No salad or fruit. I’Ve been doing this for 2 years. It’s perfect for me. I’m a 69 year old female. My weight is normal. My muscle mass is excellent. My BMI is 24.
I'm good with all this, and I know it works. My one BIG PROBLEM is the no fruit.!!! I LOVE almost all fruit. Banana, EWWW. I WILL keep working it bc I want to live fast, die young (well, too late for that), and leave a beautiful memory!!! NO QUITING, THERE'S NO QUITING IN THE WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY 😂😅
I really let myself go.. At over 500lbs I discovered your channel Dr Eric. You helped inspire me to create a weight loss journey channel of my own. It’s been extremely difficult to make the switch, but in just 2 weeks ago, I’ve now dropped over 25lbs! Watch this space! 😎
I started my journey 4 days ago. I watch all of this guy's videos on Keto. I will check back in six months from now and see what happens. Being a truck driver sitting down a lot; I'm definitely taking the advice ❤ UPDATE 6/28/2023- 120 DAYS AND 66LBS WEIGHT LOSS. UNBELIEVABLE!!!
- intermittent fasting: skip breakfast, have two meals or maybe just one meal a day if you can - don't eat if you are not hungry - eat salad and eat that first during the meal - eat nuts - have sea salt - consume protein not bigger than your palm [hamburger/steak/salmon/sardine/skin on chicken] - add low carb chock as dessert [not full bar] - measure your weight after 3 months. If it's working, stay on course. Good luck!!!
I'm done describing to my teenage daughter what I used to look like when I was younger and 70 lbs lighter. It’s time to make changes and show her what I can do!
I looked 3 months pregnant for 15 years and it wasn't until I learned about curing a fatty liver, that I was able to lose my belly. I started by introducing more fatty meat and cruciferous vegetables. I followed that up with lowering my carb intake and intermittent fasting 18:6, which I now do 19:5 - that means including my sleep, I don't eat for 19 hours every day! I've been doing this for 19 months and my 103 pound weight loss has stayed off - and I never get hungry.
same here. I only eat once every 19-20 hours and I never feel hungry. You get used to it and your body no longer likes the feeling of a full stomach all the time. I breeze through each day without thinking of food at all.
Thank you I’m going to buy & try this! I got diagnosed with IBS few years ago and it’s been hard finding good salad dressings that don’t have onion, garlic, and other triggering ingredients. I also love flavour & not plain food or sauce so I’ll have to experiment in making my own salad dressings
I lost around 50kg from the pandemic. Was 155 at 2020 and now I'm down 110kg. When shops closed, I was forced to cook my own food. And I thought to myself, if I'm cooking my own why not eat healthy. Your videos are the first ones I followed because it's scientific and logical. I did the OMAD and boy it worked. Now that things opened up, my next step on adding a layer of health in my life is going to the gym. I started 2 weeks ago and I've been consisted going everyday. You are right about making this as a lifestyle. Coz if its a way of life, its just like breathing. It goes naturally and I dont need to force it. Thank you for the tips. You helped a 35 year old guy restore his life.
Back in 1984, I started going to Chicago to see a Clinical Ecologist who put me on a Caveman Diet. Had to rotate my foods...I lost weight and felt so healthy. No carbs, sugars, white flour, breads, pastas, etc. When Keto came out I thought wow, reminded me of what I did....in away...my Clinical Ecologist was Dr. Theron Randolph. A famous Dr. Who wrote many books..was on Chicago News off and on. He was a genius,, he also was a physician, and an allergist..I saw him create miracles on people. People came to him from around the world. Even the Bush family went to him. He passed years ago and it was surprising to find another Dr. Like him. This is you, Dr. Berg..Thank you for all that you do to help people worldwide.
Dr Berg, you're the reason I lost a good 35 kilos and went from a 40 inch waist to a 26 inch one.... Thank you and hats off to you for the exceptional work !
I found out I was diagnosed with diabetes a few months ago and I immediately made some changes. I ditched all the sugar drinks including Gatorade, I also don't order combo meals, I just order the burger with water, no fry's or soda anymore. Small changes make huge difference, I've lost fifty lbs so far, and Im still losing weight. Good luck.
@@ShahabLodhi Reducing carbs and sugars can certainly lead to weight loss and help stabilize blood sugar levels, particularly for those managing type 2 diabetes-I know this firsthand because it worked for me.
I followed the same diet, two meals a day, late breakfast (no breakfast direct lunch), Cutting down sugar, walking ~5km a day, my appetite was killed in the 3rd week of the routine. Finally, I lost 10KG (22 pounds) in 3 to 4 weeks. Hope it helps.
I've lost 67 pounds in 1 year doing this. I feel so much better and I will continue to work hard and add some exercise in the mix. Thank you so much. Remember, don't give up , and you will see great results 👍
And do not add any dressing on your salad. Dressing falls into the oils, fats & grease category which slows down digestion the longest and you do not want that with a salad. This is such a great video packed with so much vital information to starting keto, explaining how weight loss occurs, everything that is necessary to get you on the right track. I binge watched a lot of Dr. Berg’s videos the beginning of this year when I had enough with my belly fat, being overweight, definitely insulin resistant and a fatty liver. I’ve applied all of his techniques and as 58yr. old woman have lost 30lbs, gone from a size 17 to a size 9, just since January 2023. I came back to this video because I’ve been stuck at a plateau and I’m frustrated. I only want to lose another 10lbs or so then I’ll be back in the 120s we’re I belong and hopefully back into my size 7 jeans. Rewatching this video reminds me what I need to do to move forward and above all never go back!! Thanks Dr. Berg
Kim Baker This is the first time I’ve watched this video and the information sounds great! Then I read your comment and am blown away that since the beginning of this year you are now so close to your goal weight! Nice going! You did say you have 10 pounds to go to get in the 120s but that’s pretty small. I bet you’re just fine now! Congratulations!🎉❤
You fill me with hope ! Originally, I followed the Alisa Vitti's method, which was the same as well... she put a lot of emphasis on the salads.. and also on a protein breakfast etc. But this is also good idea too. Am going to try a proper keto diet for the first time in my life. I do hope that I'm successful ! (I've had an operation before on ovary removal.. so am feeling all sorts of weird things now. But will definitely try this as well. I could slowly feel my memories declining.... Nothing to lose at this point. ) I went from a size 14 to 18 under 6 months of take outs etc during the lockdown which is SUPER scary. I ditched my previous routine and patterns. No supplements, and no alissa's routine and method... and I ballooned. So hopefully doing this, might just reduce it a lot. He mentioned a 6-8 gm of protein... which is a good pointer... to be honest. Something solid and concrete to follow. Takeaways and microwave meals are normally 400 gm ! 😆😁
I've dropped 144 pounds since I changed my eating lifestyle and I'm never going back to the old bad habits. I'm in the best shape I've been in since the early 90's. Now I just need to tighten up some loose skin and try to reverse my CAC score. Thank you for constantly sharing information that helps me stay on track!
Also, mixing up fasting days with a day or two at times of two smaller meals is good as it keeps the body "guessing". Doing the same thing every day at the same time sets up metabolism for a bigger fall when you stop. It's better to mix it up during the week.
Your videos are helping me to get my life back, Dr. Berg. Depression robbed me of my vitality and I gained weight over a decade. Now I’m fasting 2 days a week and getting lots of inspiration from your work.
I was in the hospital for 3 months. Had an ileoscopy for 6 months. Finally got my gut working again & have to restart Keto. It's so good to be able to come back to your channel, get encouraged to start again. Thank you!!
I have started this around June or July. I don't have a scale, but my body is changing a lot, visably! My upper arms, my midsection are deflating. I have adjusted to eating once a day at 3pm. I know I can have a second meal, but if I'm not hungry, I skip it. My portion sizes are getting smaller, feeling full faster. I find this to me easy because I'm strong! And so are you, whoever's reading this, who may doubt themselves... You can do it! 😁

I really want to try this again, but you have to get it right by such a margin. I was fairly keto- 30 - 40 g, lots of MCT, running six miles and gym for about one he a day- could see every vein and every muscle contour on my body…but always hungry TBH, and by4/5 ravenous, angry, anxious, urgent… I want to find out how to do this and still be a good person.
@@visionvixxen Maybe you needed more calories. A couple years ago I was rocking this, then fell off the wagon. Now every time I get going again, I have muscle fatigue. But, I'm also not eating as much salad as before. We're not cookie cutters so I think sometimes we need to tweak. Maybe adding something even like a can of tuna would help? Good luck to you - and me! 🙂

This info is spot on. I have always worked out but since being diagnosed with NAFLD and having metabolic syndrome I started Keto and IF about 2.5 years ago. Metabolic Syndrome and NAFLD are now fully alleviated and I’m back to the same weight I was 29 years go. I’m 47 now and currently actually 2-3 pounds less than I was as a college freshmen. I’m overweight(161lbs) for my height (5’6) and want to lose 30lbs but I worry that 2/3 months is not enough for me to lose so much. I have a healthy metabolism and can lose weight easily but I’ve been eating really unhealthy which made me gain 30lbs in 6 months.

Not being negative, but that loss is mostly water, as every gram of carbs holds on to 3 grams of water, approximately. As you cut carb consumption, you won't accumulate water. This is why it is important to have electrolytes in keto, because the minerals that were in the "carb-attached" water are no longer there. You'll notice that the amount of weight loss will be less in terms of percentage of total weight as time goes by. But, if you persist, eventually you'll be in ketosis and burning fat. Adding further persistence will make you fat-adapted after 6 months or so, which basically means that you'll be metabolically flexible. This means that even if you eat some more carbs on a night out or so, your body will come out of ketosis, but it will be easier and faster for you to get back into ketosis again, due to such metabolic flexibility. So KEEP GOING!!!
I make my own dressing. Caesar dressing is super easy to make and it has never included anything with sugar...it's anchovies, garlic, eggyolk, Dijon mustard, olive oil, black pepper and parmasean cheese
Hey Dr Berg, did keto for a year and a half and lost 15kgs, went from sedentary lifestyle to having so much energy I walked 7kms every day and my mood was uplifted. Over last 2 years during COVID I isolated in my room and stopped keto eating. Put my weight back on and stopped walking - went back to 95kgs. I am now going back on keto and really looking forward to becoming energised, healthy and happy again. I retained all the knowledge I had learned from your videos and am now finding it easy to switch back into healthy keto. Starting to watch your videos daily again which always gave me motivation. Glad to have you back in my life!!! Till your next video - Stay safe!
Same happened to me but more recently. Dealing with a toxic relationship caused me to emotionally eat and not workout as much as I used to. Eat whatever I want and a lot. Haven’t gained a lot as I’m petite so 5lb weight gain is quite noticeable. But still stress so the only place I’ve gained far is lower tummy
Over 2 years....I IF for at least 16 hours daily. Not always KETO but low carbs. Kept 23 lbs off.( Keto dessert daily).I stopped losing weight ( belly fat). My longest fast was 5 days; Full of energy. I believe I need a 48 hour fast once a week to spark my metabolism. What I learned from Dr Berg; Don't eat if u aren't hungry...my challenge is that I don't want to waste or throw food away. Especially after I have thawed and prepared it 🙄. If I don't plan & prepare ahead ...I eat too many healthy Snacks or Keto desserts. 🙄 Gotta up my game. T.Y. Dr Berg. 🤗

Thanks Doc. I lost 29 pounds so far and over 5 inches on my waist. I lost it in 4 months. I did this following your advice. I must admit that in the beginning, when I was getting hungry, I kept my willpower through fear. My doctor read me the riot act when he told me I had a fatty liver. I was only hungry for about the first 4 or 5 days then the hunger left. I do not have a desire for carbs (bread, pasta, potatoes, etc) or sweets. Something I thought that would be impossible to give up. Sometimes my fasting goes as long as 20 hours with ZERO hunger. I feel pretty good now. 29 pounds down, 40 to go. Question - When I reach my proper weight how do I continue this without turning into a string-bean? Now, as an overweight person for most of my 69 years on this earth, that is a wonderful question for me to ask. You have unlocked the key for me. I wish you and your family a long and healthy life. From the bottom of my heart, thanks again. You may have saved my life.
I would love to experience this but also get so bored and sick of Keto foods. I did this for two years and had to live a cranky, very solitary life- but I had about 14 per cent body fat.. I was still always hungry and dizzy and anxious, but did it. Got sick eating fat…. But want to try it again and figure out how to find a happy medium. It was bulletproof coffee, mixed greens, mostly kale, asparagus, romaine, zucchini, mushrooms, chicken, shrimp, cheese, meats, sometimes nuts, avocados and tons of MCT oil…. shirttail noodles… I would do salad first…. My brain still goes crazy without carbs… especially taking ADD meds- 7 hours into it, I’m anxious and edgy until I have even a little bit of carbs…

Thank You Doctor Berg. Three months changing my diet I am down 8 pounds. I had to get healthy to lose weight. Now I am only 13 pounds over weight. Salads have always been my favorite foods so not such a hard ship. I just consumed too many carbs. So happy. Thank you!

Dr Berg thank you so much for caring and posting these videos. I’m diabetic had to go ER about a month ago. It as my turning point. A1c 13.7 I Neil on resistance. Inflammation in the blood was feeling horrible. The side affects from all the meds omg. I came home and googled how to lower A1c and get rid of inflammation- your videos start coming up. I stayed up late watching them n taking notes. The following day I went got som berries cabbage lemons acv green tea cucumbers spinach olive oil. Prepped everything went cold turkey no sugars diary rice bread pasta. Honestly I stopped w the meds too. My A1c in 2 weeks went down to 10.2. Lost 16lbs. Haven’t had no neuropathy clearer thinking. Feeling good so much better. I find myself educating folk about intermittent fasting and nutritional eating. This is week 4 for me. Can’t wait to see what my A1c is going to be this week. The fat just coming off effortlessly. Imma keep doing this til I’m no longer diabetic. New lifestyle of eating for me. Thank u much Dr Berg for educating n helping us🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️ and yes I share all your videos with folk !!!
The best way I do it is by fasting, which puts you in the ultimate keto state. I was 285 lbs and fasted for 6 days straight-- nothing but water/ salt water. I lost 3 lbs per day, every day and was down 22 lbs by the 6th day. You feel amazing and don't even feel hungry.. I ate sensible after that and in about 2 months I was down to 195 lbs. So if you really want to kick start weight loss--- fasting is the absolute masterful way to get started.
I agree...I've lost weight the standard way and by omad....with stand ard procedures it took six months of intense running and cutting calories...with omad it took two months and yes you can see daily...I said daily... Weight loss...throw in a two to three day fast once a month and it's weig ht loss on steroids !!!!
Did the fasting not cause you to purge? I did keto and fasting for six months lost 40 lbs once I started treating myself I purged snd purged I’ve now gained 60 pounds. Please help
@@visionvixxen You’ll feel withdrawal-like symptoms for 2-3 days of fasting. Frankly, you just have to power through it. Consuming super-palatable carbs (soft drinks, fast foods, etc) will only prolong the “addiction”. It seems impossible, but you will eventually reach a point where your desire for carbs will drop off significantly. Extended fasting is a great way to reset and curb your cravings. Just do it. In the context of your entire life, 3 days of fasting is nothing. You don’t want to say to yourself that you never summoned the strength to do something hard for 3 days in a row. Once you do it, you’ll realize you have a tool to get back in the groove if/when you ever get off track again and have your life taken over by carbs and hyper-palatable processed foods.
I’ve done it gradual and done it by starting fasting. Jumping into a fast can be miserable. Headaches brain fog. Feels like waking up drunk. I found best for me was start cleaning keto diet. And eat that but as much as you want then taper. This makes it soooo much easier. This whole thing is not a quick game it’s a lifestyle So eat a ton of veggies Heck even bacon and it won’t hurt so bad to transition Then once in ketosis. It’s so easy to do a fast. Your body will want to eat out of taste and habit but your running on fat and have that constant flow of energy and won’t be as hungry Then do what you need to do. Longest I did was 56 hours. I felt great Watch dr Berg amd the delaur guy. Learn. Experiment and be healthy
Hey Dr Berg, I'm watching your videos from Guyana🇬🇾 and i lost 21lb in two months. The intermittent fasting works like a charm for me. Thank you so much🙏🏿❤.
I lost 41 pound in just 3 month following keto diet+IF+ calorie defficit.Without your eloquent lectures ,you wouldn't have caught my attention.thank you sir for changing my life
A calorie deficit is all you need, you don’t need to be doing all the other things. Count your macro nutrients and a calorie deficit. Keto is actually stalling your progress or making you lose weight THATS not fat (making your metabolism crash)
@@Neesha242 haha same, never went the route but I went down the rabbit hole of different diets. The biggest fitness problem tbh is that there’s too much information out there 😂
@Catherine Ives lmao they gain it back because they relapse or are going into a deep defecit. If you are in a slight caloric deficit and adjusting it every couple pounds you lose, you will lose weight. It’s legit just science.
This is a WONDERFUL distillation of the hundreds of videos you've done on the keto diet. Wish I'd had this 2 yrs ago when I started because I was quite overwhelmed figuring out new diet routines. Thank you!
For the dressing stay away from the ingredients that say any type of seed oil. Sunflower, canola, etc like that. Also when it says artificial or natural flavors

I have used your electrolyte powder for years. Best product I have ever used. what I thought were heart tremors were from not enough potassium. As long as I take my electrolyte powder, my tremors stopped. Thank you, Dr. Berg!.
This made it seem doable. I’ve tried keto before, unsuccessfully, but no one ever explained about lowering the fat as appetite decreases. Thanks for the video.
Hello and thank you for your valuable advice. I started keto 15 days ago and even if it's hard to believe, I feel in great shape. I sleep better, I move more, I feel more creative, I have almost no more pain. Before, I was doing 16/8 intermittent fasting, so I had no difficulty switching to Omad. I have a lot of weight to lose but what I'm aiming for now is my health, and it has improved significantly and for that a huge thank-you!
Hey Doc. Just wanted to say a massive thank you, I was becoming pre diabetic and it was really scary. I’ve changed my diet, I’m doing the the keto plan plus intermittent fasting, lost weight and look and feel much better. The sugar cravings have now gone. Thank you so much.
I & three of my family members are doing keto IF, & I can't tell much about myself, but watching them come alive due to being healthier is gratifying. Their transformation after just a short time is astonishing.
The salad can be blended! I blend my spinach, lettuce and sellery together, add some lemon juice, some ginger shots and a load of water as I blend it and maybe even some avocado. The I add a pinch of salt and a dash of Stevia to taste. For me this is the optimum way of uavibg greens ❤️😀clean, tasty and I don't have to sit and chew a bunch of salad
Excellent video. I'm also a doctor and all these things that you mentioned in your video are exactly the same I talk about with my patients. I've gotten great results using these very simple methods. I would like to add the fact, that in order to be successfull in dietary changes the food must also taste good and encourage people to start to see cooking as a pleasurable hobby. There are a million ways to make tasty and healthy meals using proper ingredients. I also encourage to have an 'occasional day off' and just kick back... just to not make this lifestyle change feel like a 'sentence'. Main thing being, that if you eat healthy 6 days a week you can afford to order a pizza or whatever (as time goes by this urge to have pizza etc does actually goes away). Thanks for your input and this great video. Happy days!
Dr. Berg, this video quite literally brought me back to Keto starting today and made me see where I had made mistakes when trying keto before. I wish we could get more nutritional information put out in clear and concise ways. There is so much information that it can make your head spin and all the conflicting views have had me questioning every decision i've made. Thank you for breaking this down clearly.
My wife and I both lost 40 lbs we have plateau, but we cheat more often now that we've has great success. I plan to get serious after the holidays. Thank you for the videos.
I did this exactly 6 months ago.. after 3 weeks it was a struggle wanting to eat OMD . After 2 months I went back to 2 meals a day because I was scared of losing too much weight. My weight is steady but now my hunger is back but I can still manage my weight. Beginning weight 215 got down to 173, now I’m staying around 178-183
@@georgebarrett2179 intermittent fasting 16 hrs for about 2 months. After getting use to it I went to 20 hrs eat one meal a day. I really didn’t cut much weight until I went to OMD.
Holy heck! I've been doing this right my whole life...OMAD...I got so much burden from people saying that one meal a day is not good for you, but that's all I ever wanted to eat🤷♀️...I have never eaten breakfast...what a relief to hear this!

I'm not someone who posts a lot online, but I felt compelled to do so. I can honestly say, this works. I lost 2 stone in 12 weeks! I went from 17.9st to my goal, which was 15.9st. I haven't been able to keep it off, because I went on two All Inclusive holidays, but if you make it a lifestyle change then you'll definitely be able to stay at your goal weight. My wife has also followed this advice, and she went from 11st to 8.2st, where she remains. It took her longer, around 24 weeks. Definitely try this and remember, feeling hungry is in the mind!
i’m 5’8”, i was 340lbs when i was 22 years old. i’m currently 31 years of age weighing in at 170. i lost weight by adapting different ideas throughout the years, but the progress i’ve made since discovering Dr. Berg’s channel 4 months back is what i’m proudest of. ive lost a considerable amount of belly, thigh and pubic fat since following Dr. Berg and finding that exercise routine that i now love. unfortunately i still fall victim to the nachos and the fruits that i adore, but with Dr. B’s guiding light anything is possible. (and it’s really not hard at all!)
i got a flu and fever .and i lost my appetite for 10 days . i ate very little and rested /slept most of the day . i lost 12 pounds haha .true story . some of it was muscle probably . after months i have gained 5 pounds but thats probably muscle as i bike 10 to15 miles every other day and exercise on alternate days . but still have some belly fat . im retired and on a tropical island and have a couple of beers a day on the beach daily .
Great video! This is what I've been doing and I didn't even know what it's call lol well it worked out pretty good for me. Loss 104 lbs in 11 months. Focusing on losing body fat more than pounds right now and it feels pretty amazing! What he say is all true! ❤️
Every single thing he says is SPOT ON. I’m a 50 yr old woman in peri menopause and this is the ONLY thing that has worked!! Hallelujah I just wanted something, anything to work. And this does!! 15 lbs down, 5 more to go
For fat loss to occur, a proper diet is a must. Exercising alone can shape your abdominal muscles and make them look good, but ONLY if you melt that layer of fat that is covering them (and your whole body...) I am currently in my fifth week of following a diet plan I got from Dietarize. I can say that I have definitely lost some fat. It's gonna be a slow and steady process. Good thing is that you get a workout plan as well... You could find something for yourself. Happy dieting and exercising!!
I started the Keto diet back in December of last year, and I have been following the suggestions Dr.Berg made in this video. Initially, there was no change. However, I weighed in the other day, and found I've lost 7 pounds! I'm very happy that I've made some progress. I wish I had started this diet earlier. I feel so much better eating less carbs (I eat OMAD/1 big salad a day with protein). Initially, it was very difficult to drop all the carbs I used to consume, but now I cannot see it any other way. I encourage everyone watching this video to seriously start the diet and listen to these suggestions! It really works and you will feel so much better!!!
Dear Emily:🍏🌱But one meal a day, what if you’ve got hypoglycemia? A nutritionist told me long ago that I must eat a little protein every 4 hours…. So, could it be dangerous to do OMAD? Thanks 🙏
I don't have hypoglycemia. Keto balances my insulin levels. Thank you for the concern, though. I have now lost an additional 24 pounds. I'm feeling great! 🙂
One key thing I like to tell people too is if you stick to anything too hard it will feel like work! Don't deny going out with friends because of the diet. As long as you stick to your main diet when you can you will generally get good effects over time. Also, all the food that you used to eat before will feel obvious after eating them how bad they are and you will naturally not order unhealthier foods or you will drink water over soda, or unsweetened tea over sweetened tea. So breaking your diet becomes less and less a risk factor. I give myself plenty of freedom! Intermitted fast + OMAD + Intermittent Keto Mon-fri, on the weekend I eat/drink w/e I want and I find that I'm not drinking 8 sodas, but only like 2. I'm not eating a whole bag of chips but like 1/3rd of one. I lost 25lbs in 2 months doing this! Eventually you won't even want the unhealthy things!
Plz tell what exactly which diet u follow
@@samreenbi8693 Basically what Ronald said.
No diet involved. You have to start to see sugar and carbs as poison because that is what they are. Humans are not supposed to eat sugars, carbs, processed foods and seed oils. You have to keep your insulin down as much as possible.
Here's some videos that will explain it :
Dr Pradip Jamnadas - The Bittersweet Truth, The Fat Lies, The Insane benefits of Fasting.
Watch them in order above.
Everything you've been told by food companies, doctors and marketers is a LIE.

@@samreenbi8693 this video just explained what to do lol
I remember that moment the first time I lost weight. As usual, I went to go lay down after eating until l I couldn't move anymore and started the very next day controlling myself. It took about 6 months but I lost 30 pounds and changed my relationship with food. Then I started getting skinny shamed to the point of gaining it all back but I am back at it again and won't listen to the negative comments this time. I originally got down to 5 2” 130 and am back at 160 now but will be happy even if I can get back to 150 again.
It's amazing remember your moment of realizations that things have to change though!
1. Keep carbs less than 20gram daily
2. Protein (fatty) eg pork: size of inner hand (not fingers) per meal
3. Salad first : potassium, C, magnesium
4. Fat: nuts, olives, avocado,
5. Intermittent fasting (IF)
Eating increases insulin.
Folks, take the time and watch the video. So much more info than in this short list.

Well done Keep it up

Also, mixing up fasting days with a day or two at times of two smaller meals is good as it keeps the body "guessing". Doing the same thing every day at the same time sets up metabolism for a bigger fall when you stop. It's better to mix it up during the week.
That what my ski instructor says

I have started this around June or July. I don't have a scale, but my body is changing a lot, visably! My upper arms, my midsection are deflating. I have adjusted to eating once a day at 3pm. I know I can have a second meal, but if I'm not hungry, I skip it. My portion sizes are getting smaller, feeling full faster. I find this to me easy because I'm strong!
Do you take any supplements during fasting??
I can’t thank you enough Dr.Berg for helping me to regain my energy and health. I’m 51 and after having a extremely bad episode of vertigo in March I stared healthy keto, I have lost 90 pounds, my sugar levels are back to normal and my blood pressure is getting better.

Keeping insulin levels low via Keto and IF [along with exercise, getting quality sleep and keeping stress levels low] is truly the best anti-aging regimen.

5 pounds in 4 days?????????
Was it the coffee, or was it all the added junk (sugar, cream, syrup, etc.)?
@@Fener242 did I ask?
In 4 days??

To maintain your ideal weight, add more fat. My husband however has added sweet potato as his starch and he stopped losing weight

Please help
How do you not eat without getting hypoglycemic and going crazy? My body starts to act like a drug addict- shakes, irritability. Etc when I don’t eat.

@Catherine Ives lmao they gain it back because they relapse or are going into a deep defecit. If you are in a slight caloric deficit and adjusting it every couple pounds you lose, you will lose weight. It’s legit just science.
I started keto not to long ago and you literally make everything so understanding I’ve lost 9lbs
I just found this channel. Wow...I think this guy is saving my life...seriously.
Very glad to be of help.
This is a WONDERFUL distillation of the hundreds of videos you've done on the keto diet. Wish I'd had this 2 yrs ago when I started because I was quite overwhelmed figuring out new diet routines. Thank you!
Almost 10 yrs and 100lbs kept off. Thank you
Me too. Eight years! Keto, some carnivore, IF for eight years. Life is so good!
Amazing!
For the dressing stay away from the ingredients that say any type of seed oil. Sunflower, canola, etc like that. Also when it says artificial or natural flavors
Okay give me a dressing that isn't including olive oil then. I hate the taste of olive oil
@@Jfresh55 Me too! I use avacado oil.
@@farzanafiroz1958 Primal Kitchen brand has a lot of avocado oil dressings and even avocado oil mayo. Most dressings out there have soybean oil and basically every mayo does too (even the ones that say olive oil).
@@joebuslife9275 ya totally..I just use avacado oil some salt and lemon juice...I'm boring lol
Add some cumin to that (just a little). It'll blow your mind@farzanafiroz1958
It does take a week or two for the body to adjust - hence "keto flu". I followed Dr. Berg's plan over a year ago and never had "flu" or other issues.
Thank you sir..im on my 9 months of IF and Im happy im on control of my body, from 74kgs down to 57kg..im loving it!❤❤❤
Please share your daily routine of intermittent fasting.
Please share
I & three of my family members are doing keto IF, & I can't tell much about myself, but watching them come alive due to being healthier is gratifying. Their transformation after just a short time is astonishing.
How
Do you do this
Without getting hypoglycemic, hangry , dizzy, shaky, etc. this happens to me every time
The salad can be blended!
Happy days!
Hola qué recomiendas comer a la gente con problemas de Colón irritable y intolerancia a la lactosa y al gluten .muchas gracias.saludos cordiales.
It is a daily battle, I go up and then I lose and the cycle keeps going. I am encouraged by the explanation and breakdown Dr. Berg provides.
You're welcome and good luck!
Hi sir did keto before starting today again.thank you 💕☺️❤️🙏 sooooo much for guiding us.stay safe n happy.
My wife and I both lost 40 lbs we have plateau, but we cheat more often now that we've has great success. I plan to get serious after the holidays. Thank you for the videos.
Hey Robert Miller my name is Robert Miller! Best of luck with your diet and your goals.
Try it and see,
Let us know how it goes @Pamela Howard
I did this exactly 6 months ago.. after 3 weeks it was a struggle wanting to eat OMD . After 2 months I went back to 2 meals a day because I was scared of losing too much weight. My weight is steady but now my hunger is back but I can still manage my weight. Beginning weight 215 got down to 173, now I’m staying around 178-183
U may like Dr Fung's videoo: "IF Diet Hacks".
I'm never hungry past 16 hours...it's very temporary. I find exercising at that time kills the hunger.
Jon grimes what did you start doing first I’m 222 and I’d like to get to 180-170 I mean can you tell me exactly what you started doing Etc
@@georgebarrett2179 intermittent fasting 16 hrs for about 2 months. After getting use to it I went to 20 hrs eat one meal a day. At first I’d eat about 1800 calories but after a few weeks it was a struggle to eat all of my dinner. Then I’d just stopped being hungry. I did at least try to get enough nutrients.
I've been exactly the same my entire life! My mom used to try to force me to eat breakfast, but it made feel ill.
@@KathleenEdge I hear you sis!! I just can't eat breakfast...I need at least 4-5 hours before I'm even hungry...may be the coffee I drink🤷♀️
@@Lana.Lulu. Coffee definitely suppresses the appetite. Though, I was like this as a kid. Lol. They shouldn't put people in little boxes and demand we all be the same. Our bodies tell us what we need as individuals.
@@KathleenEdge I fully believe in this...when I crave something...I eat it...lol or drink it!! I crave water!!! I have a glass of water waiting for me when I wake up...lol I call it brain juice😆
@@Lana.Lulu. I love that! ❤️ Your body is intelligent; it knows what it needs.
My husband followed his instructions and lost 10kgs in a month without exercise or any workout at all. Thank you so much Doctor.
i got a flu and fever .and i lost my appetite for 10 days . i ate very little and rested /slept most of the day . i lost 12 pounds haha .true story . some of it was muscle probably . after months i have gained 5 pounds but thats probably muscle as i bike 10 to15 miles every other day and exercise on alternate days . but still have some belly fat . im retired and on a tropical island and have a couple of beers a day on the beach daily .
he should still exercise and workout though, not only it's good for the heart but working out does boost testosterone which is the best thing for men.
Great video! This is what I've been doing and I didn't even know what it's call lol well it worked out pretty good for me. Loss 104 lbs in 11 months. Focusing on losing body fat more than pounds right now and it feels pretty amazing! What he say is all true! ❤️
Thank Doc

@@brucehuff609 Thank you! Appreciate it!

It took years to accumulate the fat, it's unfair to think it can go away on days.
Keep with it ... ✌
I got healthy! Was borderline diabetes, lost 11 kg and bloodsugars dropped. Best of all have sustained it for a year. ❤feeling
