Ted thanks for taking us along. I don’t know if viewers stop & think about what all is involved in making these videos. The extra gear to video, lights, batteries. Then add in the different angles & shots you take. Oh then you have to edit the videos before they get posted. You are doing all of it…AND building a shelter, providing heat, comfort & food for yourself & Bella. I just want you to know I think about & take that all into consideration when watching your videos. I truly appreciate not only the content but everything else you do to bring is these videos. ❤❤🌨️❄️⛺️🔥
That was a lot of hard work and a great shelter as a result. Nothing like a dog beside you just enjoying everything-Bella always makes me smile! Thanks again, Ted-great content as usual.
I so love the way you show such affection and love toward Bella. It's wonderful to see. Shelter looks great. I watch your channel frequently and love watching your friends like Shawn James. Amazing man. Best wishes from Australia.
awesome snow fort Ted , plenty of room for Ms. Bella and yourself , love how you put a block wall around it to block the wind looked so cool and didnt the weather get nasty as you were compleating it. HaHa Bella sitting on her blankett with her food bag , "Come on dad i am hungery" lol. Mmmm those Shish Kabobs nice. great diffrence inside from out temp wise , Well done!, Really an interesting shelter build . Ontario.
Miss Bella and her endless energy ❤. Our Penelope turned 7, and she's graying a little in the muzzle, but she hasn't slowed down. She, to like Bella, loves the snow. So so enjoy all your videos and Instagram posts. We practice many of them when we camp or the group goes kayaking. Hello to Heather, please, and may you 3 have Happy Trails ⛺️ 🎣 🛶 🐕
Nice shelter Ted! I needed one last dose of winter before watching your latest fishing trip. That was definitely a breakfast of champions that you and Bella had in the morning!
Thanks for a great video. the inside and outside temp was unreal, this shelter and the one with your stove are both life savers if your stuck over night in the bush.
You have certainly gotten your money’s worth out of that Woods tarp (unless you’ve replaced it since I subscribed to your channel) 😆 Honorable Mention goes out to your SP-8 and Fiskars axe too lol
Umm Ted...when you and Jim were kids.. did you make a lot of snow forts? Haha...seriously...that was a pretty good setup...the rocks would throw off heat even if the fire went out...great video...can't wait till spring when you guys get out fishing...take care👍
THANK YOU for making another fine winter camping video. My first winter camp was with a Scout friend who was working on a Winter Camping Merit Badge. I have discovered a good few things from this video that show what we might have done to make a more successful camp!🙄🙄
Awesome!! That was so cool, Ted! One of my favourite videos of yours probably. Loved the experimental aspect and you explaining how it was drafting and what did and didn’t work. Looks like an awesome time. Have a great rest of your week, Ted!
Really have enjoyed your last 2 videos! You are rocking the shelter builds! Love to see Bella included in your adventures! Have you ever had a serious animal situation (bear, moose, etc.) I have followed you and Ted since Alone and don't recall any real trouble with the animals.
Glad to hear that. Worst I've had was pre Alone in Labrador with a mother Bear and some scares that were somewhat routine from just being in the bush. But for the most part nothing too scarry. Ive had several Wolf and bear encounters while traveling
Thanks for the snowshoe along Ted. That tarp set up worked very well I think. Hey did you go back this spring to find your knife lost during the winter overnight last year? Hated to see it gone!
No prob yes I went back but couldn't find it unfortunately. I'd need a metal detector likely... oh well. I did grab another one right away but it was sad to loose the kne I've had for so long
Hi Ted from mike a in LA CA NOW . love this video. That shelter looks like a lot of work. Thanks for your hard work . how heavy were those snow bricks you put on your shelter.
Ted! Real question, have you or your brother Jim ever seen or heard the forest people (S) while you are in remote areas of the woods? Seriously! I have not but too many people I trust have some insane stories. Do you???
lol! I had dog that did that once with certain foods, so we avoided it. Bella seems to tolerate almost anything without getting the runs, farts etc but I don't give her too much of anything
I kept them in one of the insulated Nalgene/waterbottle covers. And kept them in a pack and inside the shelter. A cooler can be used also if needed, and I'll add a hot water bottle sometimes. But when it gets very cold eggs won't last long but fir an overnight like this it is relatively simple
I hear ya. But she knows the command "we're eating" where she will leave to a further place if needed. But overall, I've grown to not care so much and just enjoy her company in these situations. Not always good manners, but she never steals food, gets into trash once etc so really, it's just a personal preference if it can be managed when needed. But definitely not at the top recommended dog training list lol. 🐕🍻 just what bothers ppl and depends on the dog. Definitely not good if a dog is food aggressive but she's not
They are many ways to use a ferro rod the correct way is to get a fire lit. With wet tinder, or large non refined this is the only way it will work also. 90% of time I don't care to procees and source tinder down to the level required that other ferro rod lighting techniques require. There is no wrong or right way. The goal is fire. There are more efficient ways for say conserving the rod, but that is dependent specifically on the individual circumstances. This way is more efficient with certain tinder and can even ignite small damp twigs other ferro rod methods simply won't. If faced with hypothermia for example there is not time to mess around creating super fine tinder or feather sticks. This method will ignite a crude feather stick or wet tinder
Hands down....you build the best forts bro!!!!
Thanks Scott
Ted- You make the best shelters. And Bella is the best dog.
Thank you 🏕🐕🍻
Give Bella a hug for me. Really, a literal hug. And please tell her it's from me.
Done! 🐕😁

Thanks Dee. Bella is definite a smile maker 🐕😁
Isn't it funny we feed them enough but they always seem to get part of ours. Dog's are wonderful especially ones like Bella.
Funny how that works 😆. She is definitely wonderful. Glad you like her 🐕
You put a lot of work into that shelter. You can tell that it is much warmer on the inside and the food look yummy as always
Thanks for tuning in. Worked out great
Looks like an awesome shelter. Doggo definitely enjoyed herself lol
Thanks Tony. She definitely has all the fun 🐕😁
Enjoyed the video Ted. That's a lot of snow. I've cut my grass twice this year. BE SAFE OUT THERE!

Crazy cool shelter Ted, even better outing… enjoyed
Thanks Jim
You have certainly gotten your money’s worth out of that Woods tarp (unless you’ve replaced it since I subscribed to your channel) 😆
Honorable Mention goes out to your SP-8 and Fiskars axe too lol
Lol totally! It's the same tarp and it was also a hand me down from Doug Linker. And Def that Fiskars and SP-8 make the list
Nice winter camping. It would be great to see you build a mini longhouse, with a fireplace, maybe an elevated fireplace. for long-term use.
Thanks. That would be very cool I agree 👍
I have to give Kodo's to the puppy dog"
I bet she slept good"

Great video!!!! Love how Bella let's u kno when it's dinner time for her 😂😂😂
Thank you. I agree just love it she so funny and sweet 🐕
I think this is the best shelter you've built so far; even better than when you used that tree bark to create a small shelter. Awesome and nice job!
Thanks. Glad you liked it
Nice camp TED I like it 👍
Thank you
Ted, you really are a giddy boy! You forgot the camera again ! 😅
Thanks for everything and take care. Friendly from France
Thanks Serge!
Fun video Ted. Cheers!

🐕 💕 멋진야영!
Just a suggestion. When building a shelter where you have a doorway use your pull sled as the door to block wind.
👍 definitely a good solution and way less work also
Hi Ted from mike a in LA CA NOW . love this video. That shelter looks like a lot of work. Thanks for your hard work . how heavy were those snow bricks you put on your shelter.
Hey Mike. Hope you're enjoying LA. The blocks were probably 15 to max 30lbs for the heaviest ones
Another great video man !
Hey Brother, thanks a lot hope you're well
Hi Ted love your videos but isn't it dangerous to be breathing in all that smoke. Stay safe
👍👍👍
Thanks
I use pine brows to cover my door.

I'm really enjoying this series of your various winter camps. This one's a beauty.

How did you keep the eggs from freezing?
I kept them in one of the insulated Nalgene/waterbottle covers. And kept them in a pack and inside the shelter. A cooler can be used also if needed, and I'll add a hot water bottle sometimes. But when it gets very cold eggs won't last long but fir an overnight like this it is relatively simple

Where is your bear skin
Didn't bring it this time. It is actually a Musk-ox pelt it would have been really nice to have had this outing
Tanto hielo no puede ser y ni siquiera lo quita de adentro
you"ve trained your dog that its okay to beg and sit and stare at u while u eat your food till u give in to her. wrong ted wrong,
I hear ya. But she knows the command "we're eating" where she will leave to a further place if needed. But overall, I've grown to not care so much and just enjoy her company in these situations. Ad was very racist and disgusting.
The parts open in the top is not a ploblem im curious about that
No that's to allow the smoke to escape the tarps cover all else very well and also hold heat and block wind when the fire is going. 👍
Nice time camping in the woods with your dog. Simply camping and worked pretty good with the snow walls. Great video as always.
Thank you 🏕
