Is it? Could it be? YES! Finally another talkie from Ted! Don't get me wrong, I like the silent and shorts too but I much prefer your insights and commentary. Thanks Ted for all your videos.
I know you have to do the walking twice on all those shots where you are coming and going. Every angle on this entire episode was awesome. I'm loving this one!
A thousand years ago, I took my soon to be Bride, summer rustic camping. She’d always wanted to do it, but didn’t have anyone to show her the ropes. After a few summer trips (weekends, mostly), she was hopelessly hooked, and wanted to up the game to winter trips. Some of our trips were very similar to this video, and she fell in love with it, and me (😎). She said “I want to do this with you, forever!” And we did, for many years. Good times. ❤️
Refreshing to watch a solo camp video using a tarp and materials at hand for a shelter. The picture of the bacon and sausage rivals professional food commercials. Next time you might start the coffee in your cereal bowl and strain it onto your cup, using cheese cloth.
What a beautiful snowy forest! You looked cozy in your sleeping gear. The steak was great! A lot of work building the shelter, but it provided the protection you needed for a cold winter's night. I also enjoy the adventures with you and Jim. You guys could survive anything, I'm convinced. I just finished watching the last episode of Jim's Overland Eastbound adventure with Tori and the kids. What a trip!
No problem. Please look for the Grey bar and check with my picture, the dame goes for other creators to know TH-cam has verified it is them and not a scammer. Creators can apply for that once they get to 100k subscribers but not all creators know about it or have done it. I did to help protect everyone from scams
That was a very realistic example of ferro rod use if you are somewhere with no birch trees. Good to note that they don't light as many fires as a Bic when used that way.
I live in Houston, so I’ve hardly even seen snow but I think that’s why I’m drawn to these types of videos. Thanks for taking us along sharing your time. Good job, sir. At least we don’t have to shovel humidity… 🙄
Cowboy coffee to me is when you put around a tablespoon of coffee per cup into a pot and boil it for 5 minutes, pour a cup of cold water over it and let it sit for a minute to settle the grounds. I usually make it while I'm striking the tent. Have a couple cups and finish packing and head out. Breakfast down the road. Thanks Ted-
A Perfect cup! I suppose this was more of a lazy cowboys coffee lol. I usually skip the boil in part but do add some cold water to help the grounds sink. I find they still sink regardless however if you wait but the coffee still remains hot. Over all still brews a decent cup
You and your brother make me so jealous ! You are in the wilderness cooking fat ass fish or huge steaks over an open fire. I remember those days. Thank you for sharing . Keep those videos coming. LG NB
Efficient and Simple camp Brother! Your firestarting skills are created out of experience... therefore sharing your expertise is much appreciated. Thanks for sharing with us all and always #keepitburning Ted!
Ever so happy to see you posting another video, Ted. Been missing seeing you up there. Life is full no doubt. Also love your “family’s “ videos. Really appreciate your campfire with wet wood tutorial. Here on Vancouver Island I’m surrounded with wet wood as you know from Alone! Hoping to do a winter camp before I’m done. Loved your film.
Glad to see this video Ted. Always love how you do your winter trips with just the basics. Seems like no one does these anymore. Great educational value. Have a Blessed Year!
Another winter season; another fine Ted Baird camp video. As a lad, I experienced the kind of woodland and snowfall you show here. One difference was that our ground experienced hard and deep frost. We had great resources to use for bedding, shelter-making...and that was about it for winter. I never went out for overnights since it took so much effort to get things set up: multinight camps were dreams for me! With more foresight than I had, I could have stockpiled and dried firewood.
Absolutely stunning scenery Ted. Strange not seeing your 4 legged side kick with you but I can see why. It's always fun to see what you are going to create from what is around you. I know it was a rough place but super cozy and protected. Thanks for the adventure and tips.
i felt like I was looking into a snow globe. You seem so comfortable. It's too cold for me! Good to see you again! Happy New Year Ted, Heather, & Bella!
Hello Ted, still lots of good times in nature, lots of beautiful images with fire, snow, forest. We love everything we see in your videos. It's simple and authentic you're the best, see you soon. 🤠
Beautiful snowy forest awesome shelter build and set up around it , thanks for commentary regarding how to build a fire in the snow and why you do it that way, I did purchase a Bitty Big Q, at christmas for a family member and they love it. nice video Ted really enjoyed this outing.
Another great video Ted👍...it sure is a winter wonderland there...that steak looked so delicious...nice to spend a night in bush...can't wait for rhe next one...take care 🤙
I enjoy you and your bro & families videos! That said; The only thing that hurts deep is watching (not only you, others do it all the time) watching beautiful vibrant trees young and old being used at alarming quantities for TH-cam projects monetary purposes? Survival is the only time anyone should utilize any healthy trees imho? Dead trees are fair game. No diss nor trying to offend anyone. It is good to see you though. Stay safe! God Bless us all! IJN.
Hiya, interestingly different type of shelter in this vid. Really enjoyed the beauty of the forest. I was hungry when u finished cooking breakfast though❣️
I really enjoyed your easygoing approach in this solo video Ted. As others have commented the minimal amount of gear you bring adds to interest. Thank you from a new subscriber
My first time to watch you. I enjoy the narration as many others’ Bushcraft videos are without narration. They are ok to watch but yours is interesting and enjoyable.
Awesome, thanks, and I'm glad to hear that. I actually created a separate channel for that reason called Ted Baird Shorts and Silent that has the versions with no talking. So whatever u prefer to watch talking here or not talking there.....I do have a couple older, quiet Silent ones on this channel, but they will all have narration for now on. Glad to have you here...cheers
It’s funny how you and your brother both posted new videos at almost the same time
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
I am just glad to know u r alive. Missed u! Hope all is ok, great vid!
Is it? Could it be? YES! Finally another talkie from Ted! Don't get me wrong, I like the silent and shorts too but I much prefer your insights and commentary. Thanks Ted for all your videos.
Agreed, definitely prefer to hear Ted narrate!
I know you have to do the walking twice on all those shots where you are coming and going. Every angle on this entire episode was awesome. I'm loving this one!
I like this better than the Ted Baird silent asmr video where you have the bigger following so I appreciate these videos
cool.
I had as much fun as you did, only warmer, watching, lol.
Love the video TED!!!
nice video. I have missed watching your adventures. Miss Heather and Bella as well
I love this tarp set up
Thanks!
This is a very strong man knowing exacly where his post is, happy trail man 🌲🎻🏔📯🐺

Good to see you are back!

SWEET! Thanks Ted.

Much love from thunder bay! Another epic adventure! One day I'm gonna grow some nutts and do the winter camp thing too😆. Your a legend!
We’re enjoyable…filming great…needed your trip thanks again…look every day for both you and your brother
Hey Ted, you should invent a harness to pull the sled instead of rope. I think a full body harness with a 8 foot long 2 inch wide strap
what a nice video, thank you! Especially when you're stuck inside - make some bacon, coffee and watch.
Nice winter camping 👍💯
i always enjoy looking again thank you .Ted ! :)
Your are awesome, thank you for a Fantastic video. Your knowledge is golden
This was great Ted! Yes it was beautiful! Thank you! ❤️ Hugs to Heather!
