This year, I lost my partner and my parents. Your vids, Jon, have kept me going and getting through each and every day. Thank you so much for showing me there is reason to carry on with so much beauty in the world.
So sorry for your losses… can’t even imagine what that’s like to go through. Great to see someone else seeking comfort in these videos. Keep healing and stay strong.
My Dad and I would go to Canada, to fish, all through my high school years. Our last trip was when I was 27 y/o. He died that September. I haven't been back, camping or fishing, since. I read a lot and I think you would enjoy Robert Frost...if you don't already. I share your love of solace, of nature. I began watching you and vicariously I am there. Seeing the stars, the aurora borealis. Feeling the world slow down and for a brief time, my Dad and I are back together. Thanks. Your videos make an older guy feel younger. You're a good man. God bless.
Thanks for sharing this Ed and I'm truly sorry you lost your Dad too soon. Bittersweet memories to revisit 💚 I was familiarized with The Cremation of Sam McGee last winter and loved it so I'll have to explore more from him
Jon, hands down your BEST video to date. This video really demonstrated not only your physical toughness and well rounded skill set, but also your mental fitness. Not many people realize the determination required to camp out in deep freezing temps, the actually work involved, and the mental gymnastics that are constantly challenging. Not to mention the editing, drone footage, and music score. You did such a terrific job that several times throughout this video I felt you, your pain, and your struggle. Incidentally, this is your only video that I've watched twice back to back, that's how amazing I thought this was. In fact, I choked up near the end..that was raw, brother. I wish you a speedy recovery and hope you're on the mend sooner than later. In the meantime, keep your stick on the ice and safe travels, Jon.
I cannot believe the number of times you touched my soul in this single video. I have been watching your videos for years and you never disappoint. How proud you must feel doing what you love and sharing with those who listen. And then to reach out so deep into them to cause such a raw reaction to your craft I applaud you. THANK YOU and never stop.
My 13 YO son and I watched this video together. First, awesome. Second you have inspired me to take him camping. As he loves the outdoors. Loved this video. Thank you.
Jon the world is a much better place with you in it. Your love of and respect of nature shines through your beautifully filmed videos. I love how you show us how to appreciate and love the beauty of winter. One of your best videos. I loved the riddles and the poem brought me to tears. 💚
This is the ONLY channel that I can honestly stay focused on spending an hour plus watching. I find tranquility and relaxation in your content... you keep us engaged. Thank you.
@Lost Lakes I watched it all and fell asleep after. This video was fantastic, loved the shots you got... winter sure is tranquil, quiet and beautiful in its own way. I wish I had more opportunities to enjoy the winter like you do. The Jon VS Jon skit was great, haha. Thanks again for sharing. Keep up the great work.
Man, your videos are fantastic. They're more than that.....they're beautiful. Every time I feel like I'm experiencing the cold, the wet, the fatigue, the hunger, the joy and the peace right along with you. And the riddles are awesome! You share with me the outdoors in a way that I really appreciate. I don't go out, but your videos make me really want to. Thanks man.
I've been watching your videos for 3 days straight, getting ready for an annual remote winter ice fishing trip and to better my filming for my videos. I just finished watching this video from start to finish, and you got me choked up at the end. There is nothing more humbling then the love for this earth we were given to adventure and love. I'm glad there are still people out there that cherish these lands. Happy travels from Northern Maine!
He's especially brilliant at the cuts between scenes. He always leaves just enough to develop the scene and e plain thr story before cutting go something else. He really is on a complete other level when it comes to editing and filmmaking.
Jon, you are so much more than some "macho" guy conquering the wilderness. You are a gifted man in expression of beauty and emotion and love through your outdoor experiences. That is why a woman like me so much enjoys and I would add benefits from your videos.❤❤
You normally have a lot more strength and energy than what I've seen here. I can tell you were struggling on this one. Thumbs up for being a trooper and still putting this out for us.
John, having gone through some challenging health issues recently, I found that you and Xander's videos have been calming, inspiring, humorous, informative, and beautiful. They have been crucial in getting me through some scary nights where anxiety has taken over and played tricks on my brain and body. The end of this video was one of the only times where I've seen you as anything other than a wood splitting, canoe paddling, fish releasing machine. We are acutely aware that you do these trips for yourself, but the videos for us...and we are extremely grateful.
My brother passed away in 2007 in his sleep, he was only 47 years old. He was a Poet. What I find remarkable is how much you resemble him. I wish that I could send you a photo of him. When I subscribed to your channel a few months ago and viewed my first video, I said that you were more than a film maker, you were a Poet. This video here just further confirms that. And even if the word 'beautiful' is used a thousand times, it beautifully describes what I see and feel when I watch your videos. Thank you. ❤️
Jon you've really elevated the cinematography aspect of these videos in the last year. I always look forward to your winter camping videos during the warmer months but I think this one is definitively the best yet. The drone shots of course but the closeup shots and your appreciation for the beauty of mundane scenes really takes the channel beyond most camping/lifestyle content. I really appreciated your frank discussion at the end, and the poem got to me as it got to you. But, I think more impressively, the simple shots of the spectacular beauty of just snow on the ground starting at 1:02:50 also moved me. I hope you continue loving and sharing these adventures with us for years to come.
Hey Jon. Within a few hours vidéos were posted by Joe, Jim, Xander, his brother and I chose to watch yours first like always and like always you deliver. Those riddles man. The piles of wood, the views…everything is always so great. Can’t say enough. Thank you
That poem... so beautiful. It touched my heart. Thank you for your videos and for sharing the stunning Canadian winter. I too love a crisp, cold morning, though I've never experienced that level of 'crisp, cold'.
Your video of u and Erin together and then you continue your 6 days out in the wild. It is amazing the calm and beauty u bring to us all. The poems are beautiful and they contain an element of the soul out there on those lakes expressing the inner sanctuary of freedom and peace. I have anxiety and every time I see a new post on Lost Lakes on TH-cam it relaxes me. It is so amazing to feel this from your videos. I love the Algoma area and plan to vacation there in the spring summer and fall in 2023. Thanks a bunch
Omg Jon this was beautiful, the poem made me cry😢 you make winters in Canada take my breath away, thank you so much for sharing these intimate moments and opening your heart and soul to all of us, god bless you and Erin
Another great video. I always feel like crying just because you do so extremly beautiful shots, like those fetherlike snowflurrys in the sunlight. What a beauty. But when you read the last poem... you really got me there... Beautiful music and sound, charming riddles, I simply love your videos!
Your videos are so uplifting. The camera work and production is first rate. Most of all, you are authentic, humble and vulnerable that we all feel a connection. There is a strong spiritual aspect to the video that helps me rebalance and let go of my daily stresses. Very retreat like to watch. Outstanding.
I watch your videos and they give me such peace: but I wanted to thank you for being so open and also vulnerable with us as you take us on your wonderful adventures. The ending poem brought tears to my eyes as it did yours. love and courage always
You two are so lucky to get outside in the fresh air and have happy times together and alone. Some people are never going to ever get the chance to experience what you two get to experience on camping, hiking and fishing vacations. Is your knee needing surgery ?? If so, ya got to get surgery on that knee. Have had different types of surgery and I sure was glad that I did get the surgeries done, then I got to experience no pain none. Being in pain is hard on a person's emotional and physical and pain ages a person. Some people get on pain medicines and or over-the-counter pain relievers and consume the medicine every morning and evening or three times a day. So getting medicine to relieve that pain is going to help your body a lot. It can also help relieve the sadness so that you are not sad anymore. I have also experienced sadness and depression and so getting on an antidepressant was very helpful. Sometimes I am on an antidepressant for one year or two years and then sometimes I consume one tablet only when needed and that helps a lot too. I have never had suicidal thoughts nor any suicidal actions on or not on antidepressants. So people that want to be a happier person and to get out of the sadness get on antidepressants. When a person experiences lots of pain, especially for long durations of time, months and years, getting on antidepressants does help. A person can even take an antidepressant when experiencing pain and that seems to help too. 5/30/2023
Thanks so much Teresa, I don't take pharmaceuticals liberally but this really connects with me. One time after a concussion I was feeling really down for a while and I tried SSRIs. I took one pill and it was like a light switch was turned on. It was amazing. That's not how they're supposed to work but I've experienced the same effect since. Even if it's placebo (which I truly don't believe), can't argue with results. I tore my meniscus shortly after this trip and eventually had a meniscectomy. Pain relief was essential. Just now getting closer to normal function and it feels great
Amazingly beautiful. Woke up early on a snowy day, not wanting to face the world, but these vibes are immaculate. What a lovely transition to peace. I love watching your adventures. Getting an insight into your mindset and character, combined with rugged nature, it is a real gift. I appreciate that you talk about your struggles and how being in nature has helped you find resilience in yourself. I think many can relate to this. Your videos give me warmth, love, clarity, motivation. Thank you for making these.
Jon, thank you so much once again. Among the list of qualities I really value about your videos, your sense of humour, your clear respect for the world, your thoughtful approach, and your willingness to share your vulnerability. Oh yeah, and your filmmaking is remarkable, too. All of the best.
I pray that this world will never negatively impact you. You are such a unique person with a beautiful spirit and soul. Thank you for sharing yourself with the world.
Absolutely stunning Jon - soundtrack, scenery, filming and not forgetting the humour! The mixture of the soundtrack and scenery always leaves me a little emotional and appreciative of how amazing nature really is. Thank you for sharing Wendell Berry - that hit hard. Take care.
The Wendell Berry poem you read at the end hangs on my refrigerator. It defines my life. Your emotion at the end brought emotion to me, understanding, beauty, feeling free….in Nature. ❤
Jon, I've followed you for a while. I saw your love of the wild things from the first time I watched one of your videos. I'm somewhat like you , much older, but have loved the wild all of my life, outdoors, canoeing, sailing, boating, camping, exploring, then in later years, homesteading on a piece of the wild land. Thank you for sharing your videos. Liv in Eastern Ontario.
You, sweet, gentle man, are a pure gift. There are not enough, nor adequate, words with which to express the joy I find in your videos. My body has long since given up the ability, but my spirit and my mind cling to every moment of them, like the images and sounds are life itself. Deep appreciation and gratitude to you, Jon. And also to Erin.
Yet again, thank you Jon for an amazing video. I’ve missed the snow and the cold, we’ve had wet overcast conditions and no sun. Your video is an elixir for me; looking forward to February and praying for snow! Blessings
I haven't been watching your videos for a long time, although I don't understand much since I speak Spanish.. and you seem very sweet to me, I love what you do, they seem to me to be beautiful and incredible places, nature is the most! Your humility fascinates me, you are great, write me nice
Another masterpiece Jon! I love the long format as much as the 20 minute uploads because both encapsulate consistently great content. The riddles were fun and loved the poem at the end.
You and the ending poem struck a nerve 🥺 I crave the solitude and silence of the bush and stars above. The responsibility of day to day life , binds up my mind. I am truly free , free of fear, alone and in the bush … with my camera and my detector. These are such fleeting moments this freedom. I guess this is why I resonate with your channel so much.
Not physically able to get out like this anymore so I live vicariously through your vids and the few others like it. Those of you that can still do this, take full advantage of the opportunity. Thanks for sharing.
Inspired and humble at the same time. You have the soul of the eagle, the swish of the fin, the whisper of the wind and have left land roving footprints on hearts of every nature lover. You are a true voyager of mother earth.
Your videos are like an ASMR experience in their calming sensory sounds and sights. Crunching snow, cracking logs, trickling water, howling wind, horizontal snow, you are an artist at capturing the chilly solitude. The editing is perfect in its pacing. So much demanding work goes in on your part to trekking and camping but we get the delights of the finished product and are drawn into your love of nature. My partner got 3/4 of your riddles easily! The beauty of nature is magnified in winter, I think, because the landscape is stripped to an elemental simplicity. a black(ish) and white pallette with brightly coloured lichen crusted rocks or orangey tannin waterfalls that jump out at you for relief. I love the same components of a wild windswept seashore. Sand, sea and sky. SW Ontario is pretty boring at this time of year especially with such a mild winter, so its a joy to see the sparkle of snow and hear the redpolls again.
What an amazing adventure, John! The cinematography, music, editing (audio & visual) it was all amazing. Plus we get riddles?? I love a good riddle! It all added up to something pretty sublime. You really managed to capture the essence of your surroundings and your experience of them. I'll be watching this one many times in the future.
Goddamn Jon. This has to be my favourite video of yours yet. Your filming and editing are next level. The riddles were well written; Tolkien would be proud! I really want to acknowledge your soundtrack choice, also. It definitely enhances the adventurous and mystical tones (LOTR/Skyrim vibes). Thanks for making me choke up at the end, you bastard. Much love!
I tend to not watch these in order or when they first come out, because they tend to have a way of finding me when I need them - just like this one did. I will say, I’ve still never seen you catch a fish, and I’m getting really invested in it 😂
Truly beautiful Jon . The poem at the end really put it all together . You are a true content creator . I wait not so patiently for your videos all the time. Keep being you
Being a Michigan resident i love the looks of winter, however, im no longer a huge winter weather fan at 44 years old i have out grown the cold. Maybe thats because i have forgot how to enjoy it instead of traveling for basic responsibility, i.e. work and daily errands. This has inspired me to maybe prep over the summer to get out and enjoy our winter here in the Michigan outdoors. Thanks once again for your amazing videography.
This was a wonderful video and I've been waiting cause I knew that you would have to be out there at some point in this crazy weather. I love the ending I loved the hot Water flying through the facing cold air so beautiful. I love how you the beauty of this creation and how gorgeous it is and how you make it available for us to see who would never be out there to do that. I'm a 73 Year old great grandma, And I am so blessed by your videos. I know they're taken incredible amount of work and I thank you very much. It's amazing to see this incredible world that are amazing creator father God-made and the beauty and the glory that just shines all around us is amazing. Thank you for Loving it so much that you go to all this work to share with us what few ever Really see. God-bless you Jonathan, And may he keep revealing his beauty to you as you go on your wonderful adventures. Blessings and happy New Year💜
MY HANDSOME GRANDSON = THANK YOU FOR WONDERFUL VIDEO !!! I ENJOY WATCHING YOUR LIFE IN THE FOREST + SNOW +. STOVE !!! HELLO FROM =82= YEARS OLD GRANDMA = L A !!! I MISS SNOW VERY MUCH !!! GOD BLESS YOU AND BE SAFE PLEASE !!!!!
Another classic Lost Lakes film. Jon, I must commend you on your orderly camp. Perfectly stacked woodpile, cutting tools, sled, snowshoes and ice auger at the ready. IMO this is an excellent instructional video on how to winter camp but it is more than that. Your personal reflections on nature and wilderness feeds the imagination. Well done!!
Hey there, I only found your channel last week - been absolutely loving it. Especially the hot tent videos! I probably like them so much because it’s a foreign concept to me, a Mississippi boy. I love my fishing, hunting, and camping but it’s nothing like what you go through in the winter no matter what time of year it is here. Not only are the videos themselves enjoyable but the way you craft them as a whole - coupled with your personality - feels like a genuine piece of art/self expression. Your love for Tolkien, which I share, only makes it better! Your taste in ambient music is fantastic. Your demeanor is calming. I can’t speak more highly of what you’re doing. Keep it up, stay safe, and rest that knee up!
Hi Jon and Erin. What an amazing trip in such extremely cold weather. Hard to imagine how things survive in that environment, as you said. So many moments of laughing, contemplating about life, nature, your sense of humor. I got three out of four (apologies, not a fisherman). So much to comment on but I'll just say "Beautiful". Thanks. Be safe and well.
Beautifully articulated your sense of freedom through the outdoors. What a touching video. Thank you for the effort and commitment to bringing us these incredible videos. Truly gives me life when I can’t be out myself.
I was really tired and needed some sleep last night. I like to pick out videos with winter scenery because it relaxes me and I fall asleep. I have never watched any of your videos before. Needless to say I stayed up almost all night after watching this video. I thought this guy is kind of weird letting his wife go home and him staying out there alone. I kept watching and realized how brave one would have to be to walk across that frozen ice alone. The work it takes to stay warm in that climate. I also felt like I was there with you enjoying all that beauty. The video has inspired me. I hate to admit, I shed a tear also at the end.
Hi jon :) Thank you for introducing beautiful and critical poems and poets. The poem seems to represent my old heart. Politically and economically, the world has faced a great wave of change and I hope that we all survive well in the midst of climate change, war, and changes in the economic bloc. Above all, try to cure your knee injury. The knee is very, very important.
❤I’m sorry I’ve not watched you sooner! The canoe adventures got me and my hubby hooked along with your talented photography, content, HUMOR (we laugh at your silliness) and knowledge.. everything about you is fantastic. I learn from each video so I like how you explain what you are doing, how things work and your love of order connects with my brain. Thank you for sharing your adventures and your gifts. ❤
I found this video extremely moving and poignant. Your love for life and nature is contagious and its extremely healthy for me, I really appreciate it!
I really love the longer videos. I know and just can imagine that they keep a lot of time producing, setting the camera and so on. So a lot of props for your hard extra work and ambitions. I am from Germany, coming from the Ruhrpott (highest population density) and these videos just cure my overload of crowded cities
John, what can I say...such an amazing trip that ended with a beautiful poem and heartfelt moment. I truly feel your gratitude and respect for mother nature and all she has to give. Can't wait for the next adventure...((Hugs)) from Texas!
One of the best winter camping vids I have seen: to be one with the nature; give to introspection, juxtapose the modern life with the pure nature ... and contemplate! Thanks for posting.
Thanks for a beautiful movie Jon. You really hit me hard at the end with that poem. You’ve just got such a way with storytelling and I always go through some sort of existential journey watching these movies of yours. Thank you! Hope the knee doesn’t keep you up at night ❤
Thank you for sharing your experience with us! The serenity of the wild, and the stirring of the sout as comes with being a humble living presence in nature is impactful!
Im not crying, you are!! Brilliant video Jon as always, I travel a lot you are escapism for me. My headphones on i immerse myself in your adventure. Thanks so much for your content & authenticity from Ireland & hotel rooms all around Europe 😊
I’m living through your eyes Jon. This winter camping video was amazing. When I had my snowtrekker tent I left the font door open and covered the opening with clear plastic. It would keep the heat in and I could see out of it. Love the riddles but I’m useless at them. It is so obvious you have a real love for the outdoors
So my wife said to me, "We need to do more as a family". She's a city gal, I'm a country boy so meeting in the middle has been challenging. Well it turns out that my wife loves to go canoeing! Your videos have inspired me to buy enough canoes for the family and head off on some trips this spring. I've even bought a food barrel! The inner-peace and information you provide is sooooo needed in this world right now. I wanted to extend a sincere thank you for helping bringing my family together. You're an amazing human being.
I just watched the video again and at the end, CRIED! …and am free… Excellent cinematography, editing, music, content, and as always, your kind and gentle manner.
Hey Jon!!! I’m not sure if you can see it because you’re just so close to it, but from 30,000 feet and someone who just watches and enjoys… you’re film making skills and videography have come a really really long way. You were always good at expressing yourself in your videos but your camera work and editing has just become so great. I’m so happy to watch your content. Thanks as always!!
Beautiful video, was having a rough night with anxiety and this just helped tremendously. Loved the riddles and the poem at the end. Got me tearing up over here. Hope your knee feels better sooner rather than later.
Many many awesome moments in this. You keep finding new ways to engage the viewer. Riddle music and drone shots of the landscape. Love your creativity!!
Jon, felt the urge to comment again (sometimes I comment under Spark Adventure Photog). This video stands out. Most of them do (Nipigon, Land Before Time). You are, in my opinion, one of the best TH-cam creators of outdoor adventures. You have an incredible way of capturing the magic. Sometimes subtle (B roll) and some times not (paddling or hiking through epic scenery). I can see how you are constantly improving your filming techniques. It's not just another video to publish, but a work of art. Please keep making these beautiful films/videos. Most others are too lazy to get the shot, and your work is full of them. Thank you. I also really appreciate your vulnerability. Not only is it nice to watch your adventures, but listening to your connection to nature and the why. The WHY. Everyone else is too busy with the how.
You really know how to enjoy life, to the fullest, Jon!!I'm from Norway and hiking in the deep forests at the darkest of winter up here, when the sun never goes over the horizon at the darkest months, and at- 30c....it's magic!!
People wonder why television shows are loosing views, it’s because of content like this. I’d rather watch Lost Lakes then any other show.. Can’t get enough of your videos John
I'm from Australia camping in that low of a temp is wild to me. I love the relaxed vibe and the goofiness. The old surveys are great, it brings a history and weight to your exploration.
I really enjoy your videos, I just finished Quetico and it was terrific. My days of canoeing and camping are over but in the past we really enjoyed our time on the lakes around Algonquin Park.
Just started watching your videos a couple of days ago to deal with some real bad stress and anxiety from university, and your videos gave me a sense of calm, that everything would be alright. There's something about the way you talk and the peaceful way in which you interact with nature that's truly soothing; you have my gratitude, keep up the good work.
Thank you my friend 💚 I know the feeling and nature calms me immensely...hope you can get some study time in at a park, a creek, under a tree, or whatever you can get :)
It’s a bit late but Happy New Year Jon and Erin! Stunning scenery at the start of the video, there was a real Narnia feel when you were walking through those trees, I was almost expecting Mr Tumnus to appear! I’ve enjoyed watching your adventures in 2022 and look forward to seeing what this year brings. Scotland, UK
This was wonderful!! This is the first time I found your TH-cam channel. I didn’t camp much, and I never camped in the winter, but I’ve been watching many people on TH-cam. I must say I like yours best-I’ve learned so much. I don’t care for the ones where the host doesn’t talk-a person really needs explanations at times. I’m too old to do any camping now but I get a lot of vicarious pleasure watching videos like yours! Thank you so much!
This video is very well done, capturing winter camping from all aspects…freezing temps, hot tent, fishing, hiking, panoramic drone shots, night stars, riddles, and the summary at the end which topped it off. I watched the whole video and it’s like your there, I’m not sure about that -20 degree tenting for me but the production level here is really good. Hopefully one day I can experience this type of adventure, but for now lost lakes is really close. Thanks again

Ty for sharing this. Things will work up. Never give up hope.
So sorry for your losses… can’t even imagine what that’s like to go through. Great to see someone else seeking comfort in these videos. Keep healing and stay strong.

Nature is the best healer. Hang in there.🛶♥️🇨🇦🏕
What a lot of loss for you. I’m so glad you can find some solace and comfort in Jon’s videos. Go gently, my friend.

Appreciate that immensely Eric. Thanks so much brother 💚
your soul isnt physical, it cannot be touched.
I totally agree. He has a special way of putting thoughts and emotions into words.
My 13 YO son and I watched this video together. First, awesome. Second you have inspired me to take him camping. As he loves the outdoors. Loved this video. Thank you.
Love to hear that :) Thank you!
Jon the world is a much better place with you in it. Your love of and respect of nature shines through your beautifully filmed videos. I love how you show us how to appreciate and love the beauty of winter. One of your best videos. I loved the riddles and the poem brought me to tears. 💚

Thank you.
Thanks so much brother! 💚
Yeah. I agree. He has this down to a science. He's the mini Spielberg of Canada camping.
He's especially brilliant at the cuts between scenes. He always leaves just enough to develop the scene and e plain thr story before cutting go something else. He really is on a complete other level when it comes to editing and filmmaking.
Appreciate that so much Em! 💚💚
Too kind Chris! 💚💚
Now that I’ve watched the whole episode yet again I’m left with wonder, reverence, and peace. Incredible work Jon. Heart is full. Thank you.
Thank you so much MCFF 💚💚
Jon, you are so much more than some "macho" guy conquering the wilderness. You are a gifted man in expression of beauty and emotion and love through your outdoor experiences. That is why a woman like me so much enjoys and I would add benefits from your videos.❤❤
I appreciate that so much 💚💚
You normally have a lot more strength and energy than what I've seen here.
Greatly appreciate that Brian💚💚 And I hope you're recovering from your health issues...anxiety is crippling, I know
My brother passed away in 2007 in his sleep, he was only 47 years old. Thank you. ❤️
So tragic....I'm truly sorry you lost your brother that way. Thank you for sharing this and for the very kind words 💚💚💚
@LostLakes Thank you Jon.
Jon, every one of your videos is an absolutely stunning, moving piece of art. Thank you for what you do.
That's generous but means a ton...thank you so much 💚💚💚
Jon you've really elevated the cinematography aspect of these videos in the last year.
Thank you so much WT, I truly appreciate this 💚💚
It's so great to see another video of Lost Lakes. Can't wait to watch and check in on your recent adventures!
I’m Japanese and gonna go to Canada for one year , so I can’t wait for doing after watching this video!❄️⛺️
Awesome, hope you have a great time here :)
Hey Jon. Within a few hours vidéos were posted by Joe, Jim, Xander, his brother and I chose to watch yours first like always and like always you deliver. Those riddles man. The piles of wood, the views…everything is always so great. Can’t say enough.
Thank you
Hahah everyone was posting last night. Thank you so much Adam!
That poem... so beautiful. It touched my heart. Thank you for your videos and for sharing the stunning Canadian winter. I too love a crisp, cold morning, though I've never experienced that level of 'crisp, cold'.
💚💚
Your video of u and Erin together and then you continue your 6 days out in the wild. It is amazing the calm and beauty u bring to us all. The poems are beautiful and they contain an element of the soul out there on those lakes expressing the inner sanctuary of freedom and peace. I have anxiety and every time I see a new post on Lost Lakes on TH-cam it relaxes me. It is so amazing to feel this from your videos. I love the Algoma area and plan to vacation there in the spring summer and fall in 2023. Thanks a bunch
Really appreciate that 💚💚 Hope you get to Algoma this year and have a great vacation!
I live in a country where I don’t see snow but I found much pleasure watching you camped in deep snow.
One of the top outdoor channels on TH-cam, no doubt about it! Thank you for sharing your adventures!
Thank you so much Dan!
Omg Jon this was beautiful, the poem made me cry😢 you make winters in Canada take my breath away, thank you so much for sharing these intimate moments and opening your heart and soul to all of us, god bless you and Erin
Thank you so much Anna Maria 💚💚
randomly woke up to the fire and your video playing fell back asleep i turned in and out was relaxing
Another great video. I always feel like crying just because you do so extremly beautiful shots, like those fetherlike snowflurrys in the sunlight. What a beauty. But when you read the last poem... you really got me there...
Beautiful music and sound, charming riddles, I simply love your videos!
Thank you so much Kerstin! 💚💚
Appreciate that so much Sharon! 💚💚
I watch your videos and they give me such peace: but I wanted to thank you for being so open and also vulnerable with us as you take us on your wonderful adventures. The ending poem brought tears to my eyes as it did yours. love and courage always
I really appreciate that 💚💚
You two are so lucky to get outside in the fresh air and have happy times together and alone.
I appreciate that so much 💚💚💚
@@LostLakes ioi😅
The childlike mirth of a gentle Soul... The breathtaking majesty of our Father's creation... Simply beautiful ❤️
💚💚
Jon, thank you so much once again. Among the list of qualities I really value about your videos, your sense of humour, your clear respect for the world, your thoughtful approach, and your willingness to share your vulnerability. Oh yeah, and your filmmaking is remarkable, too. All of the best.
I truly appreciate that Dennis! 💚
I pray that this world will never negatively impact you. You are such a unique person with a beautiful spirit and soul. Thank you for sharing yourself with the world.
💚💚
Absolutely stunning Jon - soundtrack, scenery, filming and not forgetting the humour! The mixture of the soundtrack and scenery always leaves me a little emotional and appreciative of how amazing nature really is. Thank you for sharing Wendell Berry - that hit hard. Take care.
Thank you so much Derek!
The Wendell Berry poem you read at the end hangs on my refrigerator. It defines my life. Your emotion at the end brought emotion to me, understanding, beauty, feeling free….in Nature. ❤
💚💚
Jon, I've followed you for a while. I saw your love of the wild things from the first time I watched one of your videos. I'm somewhat like you , much older, but have loved the wild all of my life, outdoors, canoeing, sailing, boating, camping, exploring, then in later years, homesteading on a piece of the wild land. Thank you for sharing your videos. Liv in Eastern Ontario.
Really appreciate that and you joining me 💚
You, sweet, gentle man, are a pure gift. There are not enough, nor adequate, words with which to express the joy I find in your videos. My body has long since given up the ability, but my spirit and my mind cling to every moment of them, like the images and sounds are life itself. Deep appreciation and gratitude to you, Jon. And also to Erin.
Thank you so much Niki 💚💚💚 I truly appreciate that
Yet again, thank you Jon for an amazing video. I’ve missed the snow and the cold, we’ve had wet overcast conditions and no sun. Your video is an elixir for me; looking forward to February and praying for snow! Blessings
Really appreciate that Nicholas! Hope you get a proper dose of winter soon!
I haven't been watching your videos for a long time, although I don't understand much since I speak Spanish.. and you seem very sweet to me, I love what you do, they seem to me to be beautiful and incredible places, nature is the most! Your humility fascinates me, you are great, write me nice
Really appreciate that Claudia!
Another masterpiece Jon! I love the long format as much as the 20 minute uploads because both encapsulate consistently great content. The riddles were fun and loved the poem at the end.
Thank you so much Josh!
@@LostLakes By the way, that one liner after the expiration label: "Best before December 2020" ..."Weren't we all?" This slayed me! Hilarious Jon.🤣😂
The snowy mountain scene is beautiful. very strong living here
One of your best to date. Profound ending. Thank you for sharing, creating such enjoyable, soothing times. So genuine & authentic. Namaste.
Thank you so much Kathleen! 💚💚
You and the ending poem struck a nerve 🥺
I crave the solitude and silence of the bush and stars above.
Everything Lost Lakes is all about in this one ! Absolutely stunning ! Jon, you are a Canadian nature poet!
Thank you so much Michel! 💚💚
Inspired and humble at the same time. You have the soul of the eagle, the swish of the fin, the whisper of the wind and have left land roving footprints on hearts of every nature lover. You are a true voyager of mother earth.
💚💚💚
Spot on. Thanks for this!
If you are, as you say, one dimensional, you’ve chosen wisely.
That poem was quite moving … I added my own ending. …and am free, thank God He chose me!
Appreciate that so much James! 💚
We camp year round but I have a offroad camper I built on 33 inch tires here in BC. Diesel heater keeps us real warm but costs money.
Much love!
Hahah appreciate that so much WW! 💚💚💚
I feel so similar ! This is amazing. And the moment at the end with the poem was obviously not contrived but totally real. So so good.
Keep being you
Thank you so much Paisley 💚💚
Blessings and happy New Year💜
Appreciate that so much Teri! 💚💚
Well done!!
Greatly appreciate that Walt!
Appreciate that so much Connor! 💚💚
Thank you so much Alice 💚
So beautiful! I'm crying with you.
We have to keep going for each other and all of us who love the natural world. Thank you, Jon. ❤️
💚💚💚
Beautifully articulated your sense of freedom through the outdoors. What a touching video. Thank you for the effort and commitment to bringing us these incredible videos. Truly gives me life when I can’t be out myself.
Really appreciate that 💚💚
I watch several channels that feature winter hot tent camping, but your channel is by far superior. Thank you.
Thanks so much for your support Kevin!
Much appreciated :)
Thanks so much June! 💚 I have a lot of anxiety about the world. There's some hope in human's willpower. Very good advice!
Appreciate that so much Karen! 💚💚
I have watched this one at least 15 times and each time I find more things to astonish at. And I love the poem at the end.
My fav lost lakes 🔔 the over 60mins eps !! Thanks Jon happy NY to you & Erin
I found this video extremely moving and poignant. Your love for life and nature is contagious and its extremely healthy for me, I really appreciate it!
I truly appreciate that 💚
You tearing up at the end of that quote is why this channel is so special. Happy New Year, Jon, (and it was nice to see Erin).
Thanks so much John 💚 Happy new year!
I really love the longer videos. I know and just can imagine that they keep a lot of time producing, setting the camera and so on. So a lot of props for your hard extra work and ambitions.
I am from Germany, coming from the Ruhrpott (highest population density) and these videos just cure my overload of crowded cities
Really appreciate that! I grew up in Canada's biggest city, Toronto, so I feel your pain :)
John, what can I say...such an amazing trip that ended with a beautiful poem and heartfelt moment. I truly feel your gratitude and respect for mother nature and all she has to give. Can't wait for the next adventure...((Hugs)) from Texas!
Thanks so much Kelly 💚💚
One of the best winter camping vids I have seen: to be one with the nature; give to introspection, juxtapose the modern life with the pure nature ... and contemplate! Thanks for posting.
Very much appreciated Seif!
Thanks for a beautiful movie Jon. You really hit me hard at the end with that poem. You’ve just got such a way with storytelling and I always go through some sort of existential journey watching these movies of yours. Thank you! Hope the knee doesn’t keep you up at night ❤
I appreciate that so much SSW 💚
Your videos are amazing. Thank you for all the work you put in, I can't even imagine what it takes. I watch these to find peace.
That was a pure joy to watch. Thank you for making such incredible videos.
Thank you so much Kevin! 💚
Thank you for sharing your experience with us! The serenity of the wild, and the stirring of the sout as comes with being a humble living presence in nature is impactful!
💚💚
You put out some of the top winter camping videos on TH-cam Johnny Boy. Its unique and authentic. Makes it all an easy watch.
Thanks so much Tyler!
Your videos make me feel the same way that poem does. Thank you for your efforts, Jon. Much love from the other side of the pond
Im not crying, you are!! Brilliant video Jon as always, I travel a lot you are escapism for me. My headphones on i immerse myself in your adventure. Thanks so much for your content & authenticity from Ireland & hotel rooms all around Europe 😊
Appreciate that so much Tony! 💚
Thanks a lot Clifford 💚 Kinda wish I had got them to install a vinyl door instead of window
Thank you so much for this Eric! 💚💚 Hope you guys have an amazing spring out there
I just watched the video again and at the end, CRIED!
…and am free…
Excellent cinematography, editing, music, content, and as always, your kind and gentle manner.
Appreciate that so much Sean!!
The background music is adding so much calmness to the video. It’s peaceful and beautiful
💚💚
Beautiful video, was having a rough night with anxiety and this just helped tremendously. Loved the riddles and the poem at the end. Got me tearing up over here. Hope your knee feels better sooner rather than later.
Damn anxiety is a plague. Glad it helped a bit. Thank you so much! 💚
Many many awesome moments in this. You keep finding new ways to engage the viewer. Riddle music and drone shots of the landscape. Love your creativity!!
Thanks so much Barb! 💚
Appreciate this comment so much Cobi! Very generous but it truly brightens my day 💚💚💚
You really know how to enjoy life, to the fullest, Jon!!I'm from Norway and hiking in the deep forests at the darkest of winter up here, when the sun never goes over the horizon at the darkest months, and at- 30c....it's magic!!
People wonder why television shows are loosing views, it’s because of content like this. I’d rather watch Lost Lakes then any other show.. Can’t get enough of your videos John
Agreed! This is, hands down, my favorite you tube channel.
Appreciate that so much! 💚💚💚
Thanks a lot David! Funny enough that's one place where I've never done a backcountry trip
Ty my precious friend. What an amazing soul cleansing adventure you took me on. May you find great comfort in all your endeavors.
Much love and peace
Thanks so much Lisa! 💚
Incredible trip ❤ the scenery you capture is always breathtaking and the adventure is always amazing!
Thanks so much BC! 💚
Thanks a lot Gillian and happy new year! 👋
I'm not one for poems, but this one hit hard. Thank you
This was wonderful!!
I really appreciate that Elizabeth! 💚
Thanks so much man, I really appreciate that!
Your videos are awesome in every way. The angles, shots, music, what you tell the camera. Love your videos and your choice of locations :3 Keep it up
Thanks so much Titus!
