    That muesli is a huge portion and probably my favourite as well... aside from maybe the Danish chocolate one.

    Great to have you back Gusto, nice review!
    A bit of background on some components for you below:
    Anzac biscuits are basically what you would think of as a sweet oatmeal cookie in the US, one of the main ingredients of them is golden syrup (if you know what that is, it's a by product of refining cane sugar).
    Those muesli bars are sold commercially as Kellogg's K-time bars in Australia and New Zealand, best variety is apple and cinnamon IMO.
    Klinkers (also spelled Clinkers) are basically honeycomb/sugar crisps usually coloured in pastel colours (pink, green and yellow) they've been a favourite sweet in Australia and NZ for decades, usually found either as pieces as in this chocolate bar or as individual 1 1/2 inch long oval forms coated in milk chocolate.
    The canned cheese spread is probably Mainland brand (NZ made) and it's definitely made with a sharp cheddar cheese, Aussie CR1M's had the Mainland cheese in them until around 2015-16 when they were switched to the locally made Bega brand cheese.
    Lastly the noodles are repackaged Maggi brand commercial ones, we just call them instant noodles down under instead of ramen noodles.

      I'm a black coffee with a touch of sugar guy. But I never see coffee cream in yalls mre's . Is it not big there.?
      What's more popular coffee or tea.
      I'd be trading tea for coffee lol unless I had access to ice then I'd make a cup of strong sweet tea and pour it over a glass of ice lol.
      I'm a southern boy we like our cold sweet tea.

    • @Tiger351
      @Tiger351 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jimmieburleigh9549 Aussie and NZ rations always have a tube of sweetened condensed milk in them so you never see creamer in the rations, as a general rule most people dislike it over here. Modern day there's about a 50/50 split between coffee and tea drinkers in Australia, going back to my Grandmother's generation though tea was more popular than coffee, maybe a 70/30 split back then.

      @@jimmieburleigh9549 No problem, not offended at all. I missed the last part of your question (got cut off and I didn't see the "read more" on there), yeah we do like our iced tea over here in summer, I prefer mine with a bit of fresh lemon or lime juice on a hot day (it's been known to hit 115 F where I live).

    RC, ok I just watched this new video after watching a few of the old ones. This message will be kind of long so I apologize in advance. I didn’t know you have been away from this since I just joined your channel but glad you back.
    Ok, WOW! This was like night and day from the old videos. The sound was better the camera work was better, so what are you using?
    1) I LOVE that spoon holder along with my favorite Breaking Bad mug....LOVE IT!
    2) You are 100% better at laying everything out and GREAT at explaining each item in detail....that is perfect.
    3) It’s nice to see things in a tray rather than a plate in the old videos. But you kept the bee bowl, that was kind of cool to do that.
    4) You were very good at explaining how the food tasted and how the texture was. You were just so much better with the details, it was like a cooking show! In a really good way, because I felt like I was right there with you👍
    5) You so much better with all the terminology, like when the chocolate turns colors.
    6) Why did you talk so much in metric as opposed to standard, like I would rather hear how much it was in ounces rather than milliliters?
    Last: I have been trying SO HARD to find the New Zealand or even the Australian MRE and I can’t find it. I’m willing to pay for it, how can I do that?
    Overall, I love your channel and will TOTALLY be watching it for many reasons. Not only for the things I said above, you know Breaking Bad😊, Skull Spoon Holder😊.....but I LOVE St. Jude’s Hospital!!! I have two healthy soon to be 18 in September twins, a boy and girl. I’ve loved St. Jude’s ever since Danny Thomas was the main man.....I don’t know how old you are but I remember him very well and now Marlow Thomas his daughter is the main spokesperson I guess you would say. But I donate just because of what they have done for kids and families. My heart goes out to them!
    So I’m hitting thumbs up, I’ve already subscribed and you are great compared to the beginning videos.....which I still have to watch some more of those.
    You will see me commenting and asking questions in the future. If you have time could you answer the ones I asked above when you have time?
    But I give you 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍!!!

      mark Bohamed I use a canon M50 with a Rode mic, MacBook Pro with iMovie.
      The skull was used by my grandfather when he was in dental school, I inherited it when he passed away, used it in medical school.
      I obtained the NZ ration a while back from a viewer. I may have a spare CR1M I’d be willing to sell, but they are a bit pricey. I was away for a bit because of a lot of work, family factors and a home renovation. I’m still getting settled with respect to those factors, but planning a new video next week. Klinkers haha its just a generic term for hard lumps within chocolate, can be fruit based or candy based, the term originates from hard lumps of coal :) the most special item in the pack: the ANZAC biscuits.. became famous in the WW1 era.. ANZAC meaning Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, it has become one of the many symbols for the solidarity formed between the nations

  • @dragonmaid1360
    @dragonmaid1360 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yep. Kiwis make good food. Especially their bakery goods. But I digress. ANZAC biscuits were made for the soldiers during the WWars out of simple ingredients and very much a favorite in both Aussie and kiwi land still. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corp Representing the soldiers especially during WW I but also to this day.

    YOu can get the equivalent of the sweetened condensed milk at any grocery store in the US with a Hispanic food section. Look for the Nestle La Lechera brand. It's usually about $5.00 for 12 ounces and lasts for years without refrigeration. It's good in coffee, tea, and things like the muesli or oatmeal. Oh, and put those dried onions in the beef soup. That's why it's included.
