    1. Very thorough, I was thinking of making a video about RNAV(RNP) but you really covered the most important stuff so well.
    2. Good discussion of Required vs actual NAV performance.
    3. Cold temp corrections: good info, most sim channels don’t cover this. Of course, as you say, in our sims, we probably don’t have to worry. As an X-Plane 11 user, I’m wondering if it’s even modeled….food for thought. And speaking of using Track/FPA, I’m pretty sure my company won’t let us. Sounds too much like a mistake in the making. But interesting to ponder.
    4. It’s interesting to me that FENIX provided a manual toggle for LDEV & VDEV as well as FLS. I’m guessing it’s to make up for not having the proper coding in the Navigraph database to begin with. (?)
    5. I was waiting for you to mention this and sure enough, you did, regarding that Final Descent Point. So words to impress upon the viewers: **Don’t select APPCH mode until that final descent point appears as the TO waypoint in the upper right corner of the ND** since it is not programmed to honor altitude constraints once it captures.
    6. I agree that it may not seem efficient but the safety and security of being established on published segments especially at night is definitely the way to go!
    7. Very nice refresher for me. Good to see some techniques from other airlines!

    • @AirbusAddict
      @AirbusAddict 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What is scary is that there are videos of real approaches where the crew selects Approach before the FAF is the TO way point.
      Does the real aircraft not have the toggle? I can't see how database coding would determine for you if you want to fly a VOR using FLS or TRK/FPA...?

    • @tomstravels520
      @tomstravels520 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AirbusAddict I think most aircraft are more set up like the Toliss A321Neo where you have an FLS/FINAL APP LSK in the PERF page of the MCDU on approach part so you could choose which to do unless doing an RNP (AR) approach.
      The Fenix toggle option seems to be based on aircraft that had the FLS only option. But these aircraft couldn’t do FINAL APP

    • @AirbusAddict
      @AirbusAddict 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tomstravels520 Ah right.. so tbe LSK selection is in the real aircraft if suitably equipped/optioned. Good to know.

    • @tomstravels520
      @tomstravels520 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AirbusAddict yes. From what I’ve been told some aircraft had FLS only to replace FINAL APP but then it became an option for the pilot to select between the 2 in later versions.

    • @AirbusAddict
      @AirbusAddict 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tomstravels520 Ah makes sense. FINAL APP is still needed for some types of RNP AR approaches as I understand it too.

    Moorning guys. Just a important tip for those playing MSFS2020 on XBOX. If you're having problems with A320NEO not following GPS NAV, doing some unexpected turns when AP is engaged or even having the AP disengaged during your flight, I managed to solve it by connecting a mouse on XBOX (wired or wireless) and using the mouse for cursor mode. It seems like XBOX get confused if you use left stick for flight and cursor mode and after using the mouse for cursor mode and left stick exclusively for flight mode everything runs smooth... Best regards from Brazil to all of you!

    Thank you for another brilliant tutorial. I always look forward to your videos as its helped me immensely with my home simulation especially with the Fenix more in depth systems. At some point could you make a video explain the systems, for example, the ADIRS. At the moment I know to turn IR1 IR2 and IR3 to NAV but there is also a number of controls above. [DISPLAY] for example has a knob for data, what are the different modes? Likewise the [FLT CTL] ELAC2 SEC 2 etc, things like that. I do appreciate you are probably very busy with real world and may take a while to get around to all these systems. Thanks again for these fantastic tutorials. Take care.

    • @tomstravels520
      @tomstravels520 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The controls above the ADIRU switches are just to display the raw data being produced by those ADIRU's such as wind, groundspeed, status (how long until alignment complete) etc. Newer aircraft no longer have them as this can all be displayed on the MCDU
      ELAC-Elevator Aileron Computer
      SEC-Spoiler Elevator Computer.
      They just tell you what that control surface they can control but a video would be need to explain the priorities for the controls and which SEC controls which spoilers etc. It'a slightly more complicated now as the latest aircraft only have 2x SEC's instead of 3. This is replicated in the Toliss A321Neo though.

    We’re allowed (in OMA) to disregard (E)GPWS alerts only under the following conditions: The alert occurs during daylight VMC conditions, and when positive visual verification is made that no hazard exists, and the possibility of a ‘nuisance or false warning’ has been briefed (as identified) and notified on the chart, in airfield brief or by NOTAM. Not sure what our GNB brief says off hand. But I’d be inclined to disregard that GPWS you had. 👍

    Just an aside but I wonder why planes have such low GPS accuracy. That showed an accuracy of around 55meters where as the expected accuracy in even handheld GPS systems is an order of magnitude better than that, around 5 meters. And getting better every day. Heck we're pretty close to cm accuracy which is frankly mind blowing.

    • @YAMI-nn
      @YAMI-nn 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I could imagine it would be related to the speed of the aircraft which cause a frequent variation in its position. That has to be consequently updated faster compared to a person moving by foot at ground level. Probably this could lead to a decreased accuracy. It's just my opinion, I hope someone could clarify this point.

    how can i increase the intensity of the PAPI lights? when I use the track/FPA, I am also having trouble with my track guidance as it seems to blend with the background. any tips on how I can make the visuals of the guidance any better?

    Thanks for yet another great video. I wonder if you could give a brief explanation of what the EGNOS reference on the chart refers to. I see this “Ch” ref often on RNAV approaches, but don’t know what significance it has to a pilot flying this procedure.

      That only is useful if the aircraft can fly an SBAS approach so you can use LPV minimums which the Fenix can't. It uses satellites to correct for position errors so an incorrect altimeter setting would not affect the glidepath. The only one I've flown that can do this is the ToLiss A321Neo (may be others).

    Excellent tutorial, Thank you! Knowing you also use the FBW A32NX, does FBW also have these functionality ? Cheers.
