Ayurveda emphasizes living in harmony with nature's rhythms and tailoring routines to individual constitutions (doshas). While specific practices can vary based on one's dosha and unique needs, here's a general outline of a daily routine aligned with Ayurvedic principles:
1. Wake Up Early: Ideally before sunrise, during the vata time of day (between 6-10 a.m.). This time is considered most conducive for starting the day with energy and clarity.
2. Morning Routine (Brahma Muhurta):
Tongue Scraping: Cleanse the tongue to remove toxins.
Oil Pulling: Swish sesame or coconut oil in the mouth for oral health.
Hydration: Drink warm water or herbal teas to hydrate the body.
Elimination: Attend to natural bodily functions.
3. Exercise and Yoga: Engage in gentle movement, yoga, or pranayama (breathing exercises) to stimulate the body and mind, enhancing flexibility and strength.
4. Meditation and Mindfulness: Set aside time for meditation or mindfulness practices to foster mental clarity and emotional balance.
5. Breakfast: Have a nourishing breakfast, ideally warm and freshly prepared, focusing on easily digestible foods according to your dosha.
6. Mid-Morning Routine: Take short breaks, stretch, or go for a walk to invigorate yourself.
7. Lunch: Eat your largest meal of the day around noon when the digestive fire (agni) is strongest. Choose wholesome, balanced meals incorporating all six tastes (sweet, sour, salty, pungent, bitter, and astringent).
8. Afternoon Routine: Rest or take a short nap (around 15-30 minutes) to replenish energy levels.
9. Evening Activities:
Dinner: Have a lighter meal compared to lunch, a few hours before bedtime.
Relaxation: Engage in calming activities like reading, gentle stretching, or taking a leisurely walk.
10. Night Routine:
Digital Detox: Minimize screen time at least an hour before bedtime.
Self-Care: Practice self-massage (Abhyanga) using warm oils suited to your dosha.
Bedtime: Aim to sleep before 10 p.m. to ensure quality rest during the kapha time of night (between 6-10 p.m.).
Remember, Ayurveda values consistency and listening to your body's cues. Tailor these practices to suit your individual needs, and it's always advisable to consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized guidance.

A great explanation of a healthy routine. ☘️
I love the concept of Dinacharya it is one of my favourite things about Ayurveda (that alongside Ayurveda's emphasis on digestion!) I have found having a dinacharya so healing. Thank you for your explanation, it is so clear and reminded me to do activities that are conducive to the specific dosha throughout the day

Hello! I have read that according to Ayurveda, the best time to have sex is during Kapha time of day (morning 6 am - 10 am or early evening 6 pm - 10 pm) and best to do creative artistic work during the Vata time of day (2 pm - 6 pm)
