Wow, thank you! That is such a compliment! We're so glad to have you here on our channel with us! ❤️Thanks again for your kindness! It means the world! ❤️
Thanks for making this series of videos, it was actually really helpful for us to play them on the TV for my 19 month old son to see that Christian can go potty too! It was a really positive experience for us. We're now 4 weeks in and going well 🤞 I'm still not sure how many accidents are ok at this point ( were having 2-3 a week) but we just keep those natural consequences, I find it hard to hide my disappointment (for lack of a better word) no scalding or shaming obviously but my face says it all, my honest facial expressions are my true downfall I think.. how do you deal with disappointment when you get a regression? How do you address it to the child without having to reset after they've been doing so well? Thanks again!
Loved this series! I really appreciate this content. We aren’t quite ready to get started yet but I’ve subscribed and will come back to these when I feel we are good to go. By far the most useful potty training videos I’ve found to date! How long did it take for your son to be fully potty trained? I know each child is different but it would be good for reference. Thanks!
I have to say your videos are so encouraging. I just read half of ‘Oh Crap Potty Training’ and am ready to start PT next week! My oldest will be 3 in August (I know it’s a later start to it all but better now than later) and my youngest is nearly 19 months. I’m thinking about getting them both done at the same time. Would you suggest that? I’m also pregnant and don’t want to be buying more diapers than I need to.
That's great! And congratulations on the new baby! What an exciting time for your family! You got this Mama! And your little guy will too! We'll be thinking of you! ❤
Such good tips mama!! I love your advice on doing a reset. I just uploaded my video of tips for potty training too! Love how each mama has different things to help because each kid is different!
Oh yes! I love that about seeing how other mamas do things too! It can be so helpful to get some more tools in your tool belt because every kid is so different! ❤️
What I found worked for getting my LO to sit on the potty was putting his little potty in front of a full length mirror so he could make faces at himself.
@@CarnahanFam No problem. Thank you for making the videos you do. I love watching them as my son is about the same age as Christian so we get to use a lot of the ideas right away. It's super cool to have more ideas of things to do, especially during lock down.
I love this series! I just ordered the book and am looking forward to starting training! Do you feel like you had to have the potty that you kept in the kitchen/next to the toilet? We have already bought a toilet seat to go over our big toilet and he enjoys sitting on that.
Tips: I put the potty in the playroom at 18M. When I saw him pushing I would quick say “let’s to go to the potty.” Sometimes he would push me away sometimes he follow me. A lot of time I just grabbed him, took off the diaper, and sat him. He was able to push better then we took it to the bathroom to flush and clean. He sees me use the bathroom and wants to flush the toilet.sometimes he sat on the toilet and I give him toilet paper then he liked to flush the toilet..I also explained to him wet/dirty diaper Vs clean dry diaper … Then I trained him at 23 months and he was very successful since day 1 poop and peed and by the second day he was yelling “mama go go go” he had accident but was very familiar with his potty and aware of the concept
Did Christian fluctuate between seeming to get it and pretending pee wasn’t happening? My son was doing great day two and day three so far has been a nightmare. 🥺
My daughter is 18 months and showing signs of wanting to pee pee on the potty. I want to potty train her with this method. However, how does that work for children who are in daycare? From the looks of these videos your child doesn’t go to daycare full time. Any suggestions???
Hi, I need help my 29 month old girl does your # 4 question she waits until she is in bed to poop she is been doing this for a week and a half and it’s literally stressing me out so so much! and is disrupting her sleep! We give her space and privacy to help her. Today I found her pooping in bed and got her out of her bed and put her in the potty and she pooped a little bit she finished in bed. We have been potty training for about 1 1/2 months now! Please help, thank you!
My 3 yo has been PT for 8 months now and has done excellent with daytime from the get-go. We started nights on day 1 also. I restrict the fluids (although she still sneeks drinks of bath water..) I used to wake her up twice a night as per book instructions. I've been waking her up once a night for about 6 months now. I have tried to push this time further into the night but she just can't seem to hold her pee more than 4 to 5 hours after she goes to bed. She's still in a crib and she is a deep sleeper, she does not wake up when she wets herself. I would love to try and just leave her overnight without waking but feel horrible about her sleeping in her own pee. What do I do???!!
Woo hoo! Congratulations on getting that day training down! How far in advanced are you restricting fluids before bed? You may need to cut back even more and really make sure she empties her bladder at night before bed. Our son is the same way and every once in a while when he has an accident at night, he doesn't wake up at all! If you are able to even just push back the time by 5 minutes every couple days, that would still be progress! But I understand where you are coming from! 6 months to be waking up in the middle of the night is a LONG time! While I know the book doesn't recommend it, and I've never personally tried it myself, my sister swears by "cooling pull ups" which get cold when they get wet. Her daughter is a very heavy sleeper and when she'd wear those at night and have an accident, she'd immediately get cold and wake up. It could potentially be worth a shot but understandable if you don't want to go backward with her being over the age of 3! Have you tried anything that seems to help even just a little? Sending you all of our best wishes we've got!
@@CarnahanFam thank you for the idea. I really don't want to even go near diapers though, that scares me to mess with things when daytime is so good! We may move her into a bed kid bed soon and see if that can somehow help at all.
Jessica MacArthur I totally understand and would probably do the same thing if I were you! We JUST moved into our big boy bed a few weeks ago and started night training. It did seem to help after the initial week or so!
