I went to Casper College and loved it! My wife and I were married there and spent about 10 years there. Loved it all but now we're just too old for the snow and cold!
More great information, thanks for doing these! If I'm planning to visit cities in Wyoming, are there places other than Cheyenne, Laramie, Casper, Gillette, Sheridan and Cody that I should put on my list? These are the names I keep seeing, but I don't want to miss other gems. Thanks!
I always say " Do your home work". Especially when it comes to where you are going to live. I also say, and have for years. "A person should be in a space they are about". Happy trails to you.
One big selling point for me is how close the ski area is- Casper Mountain and Hogadon Basin ski area seem like a massive asset! Is the drive from Casper to Hogadon sketchy in winter conditions? Seems like a lot of vertical is gained in just a few miles.
It is great having access to our beautiful mountain and all of its amenities Depending on the winter that road does close and get get a bit "sketchy" however we have school busses that go up and down it al the time and really isn't to bad. Make sure you have good tires!
I know I would lke both, but the wind would be very annoying in Casper, but I like that you have more access to bigger businesses to shop at but still have a smaller town vibe.@@alishacollinsrealestate
Nice comparison. I've been to Cody more times than Casper and we've stayed in Cody more times because of the nearness to the Big Horns and Yellowstone. We're looking at both Wyoming and Montana for a vacation home. Probably will engage an agent next year.
I was born in Cody, but grew up elsewhere. Spent many summers in Cody and the scenery around there is out of this world! World Class Whitney Museum of Art, The Cody Stampede and Night Rodeo, vibrant downtown, and incredible Mid Century homes. I have never been to Casper, but the video of the town looked blah. I do see how the skiing could trump Cody, but still ... Cody had oil money back in the day, so quite a bit of wealth at one time.
I have lived in Casper, and Powell, just outside of Cody. Both locations have their benefits, but it really is like comparing apples and oranges. Modern or traditional is really the comparison. But on a side note, if the Wind River Canyon is closed, it's a 140 mile detour to travel between the 2 cities.
Enjoy your Wyoming videos and amount of detail you research and communicate. Interesting how much higher the average price of a house in Cody, which could be another measure of desirability
Enjoy you very much, was raised at Kortes and now live in Georgia. Something about Wyoming gets in your blood and stays there. I am now 78 years old but if I was a young man you could talk me back to Wyoming, Have wanted to move back for 55 years. If my wife and I was 30 years younger we would invite You and your husband over for a antelope supper in the new house you found for us in the Alcova area. LOL
I'd personally rather live in Cody, one of the most beautiful places I've been to And having a nightly rodeo to attend throughout the summer, closer to Yellowstone and Jackson Hole, that's my pick. JMO.

I am an Egyptian residing in New York, but unfortunately New York has become a city crowded with population and noise, and I think a lot about moving to Casper. Can you help me search for a house to rent? I live in Sinjal Thank you for your time ❤❤❤
Cody is snuggled up to the Yellowstone caldera- one of the largest super volcanoes in the world. If you go to Casper, you will have a bit more warning if goes off.
@@alishacollinsrealestate Well.....I say "thank you very much". : ). My middle name is the same as the town of Lovell. I have wondered whether Henry Clay Lovell was a distant relative of mine.
California house rich sold out and brought their big money here. They paid top dollar for anything with a roof and now few can afford or even find housing.
Honestly wouldn’t live in either! Every time my wife and I go to Cody, we just want to go back to Ten Sleep the moment we get there😆 too many people for us. We would rather go over the hill to Sheridan for things we need.
She forgot to mention the meth and alcohol issues, not to mention the death rate. So many good people have moved away, leaving the garbage behind. I miss the scenery, but i mean the city workers grabbing their pocket pints and hopping in a city truck at six in the morning is disheartening.
Go to Casper or Cheyenne. Cody has enough California refugees who think things should be run like California. Our houses have skyrocketed in price because of them. Locals can't afford to live here anymore. You don't want to buy here.
What's the difference in drug related crime between Casper and Cody? Also, what is the racial count between Casper and Cody, blacks, Hispanics, Asian, white? And finally, my wife and I are interracial, have there been any interracial crimes in Casper and Cody that we should be concerned about? We first started looking in Jackson hole but we're now thinking maybe getting away from all that.
Sounds like I'd love the state of Wyoming. I too, married outside of my race,I guess for lack of a better phrase. We've sometimes gotten some looks too, depending on where we're at. I'm guessing you wouldn't have a hard time in Wyoming, I'm only assuming. It sounds like a great place.
@@tgirard123 oh, I hurt your poor little feelings and you lash out like a child. Your best insult is calling someone trailer trash because they live in rural America. Great attitude to have when talking about moving to Rural America.
@Iamonepercent I've lived in suburban areas all my life. I'd much rather live in a more rural setting. Only downside to that is having to drive a long way for a gallon of milk. I like it where it's dark and quiet, and the only lights you see are the light of the silvery moon and the stars.
Wow what a great video explaining all the details! Thank you so much. I can't wait to move out of California to Wyoming. I made so much money here it should be easy to purchase any house I want. Also, it'd be great to bring some Cali culture to Wyoming, don't you think?
Wyoming in general kind of stinks for just about all amenities. No Portillo's, Lou Malnoti's Pizza, Costco, No Lexus dealers, No luxury watch dealers. Sorry, my state sucks in many ways but I have access to all things most people desire like good food and great cars.
