I've been all over this country as both military and a commercial truck driver before I retired and lived in a lot of places (seven different states). When we were planning our escape from Aurora Colorado, we looked at Casper, Cheyenne, Gillette and Wright for housing and living conditions. We fell in love with Gillette with the aid of our realtor in Gillette (Stephanie) who was so helpful with our long-distance house hunting on several road trips up. We were looking for lower priced homes around $250k but set on one $70k more when we saw it was just what we were looking for and in a great neighborhood with sweet neighbors. We have been here for about two years now, and I can say we haven't met a disagreeable person here yet. Medical facilities are decent here and the VA Hospital is just down I-90 to Sheridan though Campbell Country Hospital works well with specialists coming up periodically from Casper. I think Casper was the high second place for us though I have no regrets moving to Gillette. Love Wyoming and only regret is not moving here sooner.

All the disagreeable people are in the comment section here dissing the 49 states that are not Wyoming and ordering people not to move to Wyoming. I expect to have my car keyed every day that my license plate says anything other than Wyoming. Seriously, people from other states look at Wyoming and like what they see, please stop with the hate of outsiders.

I lived in Wyoming for about 40 years. I worked in corrections for about 4, before I moved. In my experience, there are a LOT of drug related crimes, high amounts of domestic violence and alcohol related crimes. Keep your vehicles and doors locked, even if you think your neighborhood is safe! Gillette used to have more crime than Casper, but I don't know what its currently like. You do not see a lot of homeless people on the streets in Wyoming due to its low population and its awful weather

I truly hate that people base their opinion of a place (for good or ill) on the political affiliation of their potential neighbors.
The last time I checked, republicans, democrats, and independents are all Americans.
For the record, I'm a registered independent, and I'm equally critical of both so-called conservatives and so-called progressives.

I have no doubt that all content creators are pressured to reinforce the predominant political leanings of their audience - even if the content is completely apolitical.
Even worse, creators frequently avoid any subject which might be interpreted to be even vaguely sympathetic or critical of one political stance or another.
From where I sit, neither Mitch McConnell nor Nancy Pelosi have done a damn thing for me (I'm neither a Californian nor a Kentuckian).
After doing a little research, it furthermore appears that both California and Kentucky have got plenty of their own problems - and neither Mitch nor Nancy have fixed any of them in their combined 90+ years in Washington.
The sooner we realize that we're all being played like a whorehouse piano, the quicker we can get back to being just neighbors. I look forward to the day.

The reason so many conservatives are asking about political affiliation is that they are being tarred & feathered & pushed out of the places they live (California) by the intolerant progressive left.
