    Hummers are not going first, there is more to it than that. The sites open are only in Michigan and Arizona, as far as we can tell. I am in Arizona and have been successful at three different sites. Another Hummer charged in Michigan, but that same person could not charge in Ohio or Pennsylvania. The key here is that Michigan and Arizona have GM proving grounds, so those areas seem to be open for GM testing purposes. I have the official Tesla adapter, not a third party one, since I also own a Ford EV.

      Thank you so much! I'm going to pin this comment. It was my understanding from initial forum reports and the GMC web site leak that Hummer EVs were able to charge at all the same location as Rivian & Fords. Thx for providing clarifying information. Pls let us know if you find out anything new.

    I finally gave up and decided to go to the dark side and just get a Tesla. Will be taking delivery of it at the end of the week. I wish all those waiting on GM the best of luck and hope that the network is opened enough to help with the major travel corridors at the very least. In what appears to be typical GM style they really make a mess of things. Hats off to Ford and Rivian for being up on the wheel and getting things done.

      I am thinking of replacing one of ny CCS cars for a TM3 LR probably AWD for road tripping or evacuation if bad weather approaches. With the overcrowding of CCS chargers these days I can imagine the problem trying to evacuate in the event of impending storm forcast.

    • @newscoulomb3705

      At this point, Supercharger access is largely just a redundant support network. There's still value in that, but Supercharger access is no longer the deal breaker it once would have been. As far as the hold up goes, it definitely appears to be on the Tesla side, both in providing an adapter and in updating their app. The reason GMC HUMMER EV owners are having to "spoof" Rivians is because the Tesla app still hasn't been updated despite GMC EVs being officially supported.

    On an 8 hr vacation drive. Stayed overnight in Fredricksburg VA which is an EV desert Radley Chevrolet screwed me with an out of service charger then EA screwed me the same ended up having to drive 40 minutes to a slow ass EVGO 50KW but luckily there was a Wegmans and Starbucks near it to kill the 1.5hr charge time. If I did this with my wife & daughter they would be livid. As a Blazer owner, I am guessing you are new to EV? If so, I always make a plan of where I am going to stop and then assume it will be broken to have a backup plan and then sometimes a backup to the backup plan. When the TesSC opens to GM, it will be a really good primary or backup option. They are everywhere as you will see and always work. In all my years of driving EV, I have never shown up to a TesSC and had it off. Sometimes busy, but never broken. Stay safe. Enjoy your trip and new car. Sweet ride.

Maybe it will happen before the month is out, but… forgive me if I don't hold my breath. If the GM adapter release is anything like Ford's, GM BEV owners will have a long time to wait. Ordered our Tesla adapter from Ford in late February; still waiting. I will buy a third-party foreign adapter when those companies establish a $1,000,000 bond in the US to satisfy damage claims including loss of vehicle mfg warranty coverage. Who owns the patents? GM is gaining access to 15,000 Supercharger sites. Is this a typo, do they really mean 15,000 “sites” or do they actually mean 15,000 “units”? Does Tesla even have 15,000 Supercharger sites in the US? Here up and down the middle of the country, every state has just a couple or very few Supercharger sites, here in Oklahoma for example there are only 6 Supercharger sites. Sites and units are a whole different matter from each other.

    • @glenngore6609
      @glenngore6609 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@thenetworkarchitectchannel I was wrong in my numbers here in Oklahoma. There are 7 Supercharger SITES in the state, all but 2 are in the northeast quarter of the state, with only one in the entire western half and panhandle. So one could say that there are 6 Superchargers in the western half of Oklahoma, but that would be misleading since all of those 6 UNITS are located at the ONE Tesla Supercharger SITE. So it’s important to make the distinction between sites and units. You do a very good job with your reporting and I really enjoy watching the progress. Thanks for adding Francis to your listings, but I notice they have not made any progress with the NEVI funding yet.

    The big issue with most CCS cars is the cables on a typical V3 SuC dispenser will not reach the cars charging receptical without the car parked sideways, or in the wrong stall. At stations where there are 20 dispensers CCS cars may get away with parking sideways, however, at smaller stations this type of parking will not be tolerated. Frankly, Tesla's handling of this program is rather frustrating to owners of other makes not knowing when they will be authorized to use the TSuC Network. Its a good thing that CCS charging stations are poping up on major driving routes.

    • @newscoulomb3705
      @newscoulomb3705 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The GMC HUMMER EV specifically has the same charging port location as the Cybertruck, so other than needing to pull deep into the stall (like the Cybertruck), the HUMMER EV should have far fewer issues accessing the Superchargers than other non-Tesla EVs. The same is true of the Chevrolet Silverado EV, though the longer bed is likely to make the cord stretch even farther.

      I respectfully disagree. Any EV that needs a charge should be able to use high powered stalls. If there are lower powered ones avail, it is common courtesy to use those if your EV can not utilize the higher ones, but to say never I do not agree with.

      Disagree, Bolts are not dcfc capable or long distance capable due to super slow dcfc, gm should upgrade to 120kwh onboard capabilities and subsidize it. The worst is a bolt on 350kwh charging at 12kwh trying to go 80% to 100% because of short range to make it to next charger.....annoying to say the least and I owned a bolt EUV, was great as long as you got back home to charge overnight but horrible dcfc
