I have to say you've lost some serious bank money in the last couple months paying wizard $20,000 for car repairs and now taking a beating on your truck. That's got to be a bummer!
One thing that stands out to me with these and a lot of new cars is, it's illegal to use your phone while driving but now they stick an iPad to your dash and you have to basically text while driving to adjust the air conditioning.
There are plenty of amazing new vehicles on the market today, but the cyberturd clearly isn't one of them. Hoovie is a fool for buying this pc of junk, but I get it...his brand is making stupid vehicle purchases.
@@nothere9551 Plus all the bs markups dealers are trying to pull, who thought paying msrp would become a privilege. I have one and it’s crazy fast. Honestly though it’s gonna sit in my garage with the other overpriced cars I bought lol. I’ll sell it to Leno in 10 years.
The cybertruck is really everything I hate about modern trucks -Overpriced -Overhyped -Oversized (king of the road mentality) -Overloaded with features -Made for and purchased by people who don't typically need a truck but want to look "rugged" As an aside, that express van is beautiful

People bought Tamaguchi digital pets too. (I think that's what they were called.) Imagine being hounded every hour to push some buttons to shut it up. 😂
Some tesla troll will buy it to stop Hoovee from making another honest video. His prediction of price cuts is exactly right and Tesla wants to delay the cuts as far as it can.

Not only that. Banning you from purchasing their products. This is why I will never understand people that love Teslas. Just on principle alone I wouldn’t buy one. Because the owner of the company sees his customers as a given and they can go scratch. Meanwhile, my Cadillac dealer does everything in their power to accommodate you and shows that they truly value their customers. Wild concept: Personal Responsibility. I buy something and willingly sign papers agreeing to X,Y, and Z .... I am responsible for following those things.
I generally agree with that sentiment, but I'm convinced Hoovie 100% went into this with his eyes open just to see how bad it would be. If they will sue you for selling your Cybertruck less than 1 year after purchasing it, I would recommend you suing them for delivering a defective product. It didn't come with the features that you paid for e.g. autopilot, wheel caps, light bar. It sounds like a robbery.
Tesla must have thought people were going to flip these for huge profits like Ford did with the GT40 but, in reality they're flipping them to avoid huge value loss.

Doesn't matter what you drive, take pride in ownership. I also drive old cheap cars. Insurance and registration are lower, no car payment. Also when someone thinks a red light or stop sign doesn't apply to them I'm far less likely to yield the right of way.
I am driving at twenty six year old toyota. I bought it when it was seven years old. I have. Had nothing but basic Maintenance issues. It is outlived many other peoples new cars And that has been since I bought it.
"If I own this thing much longer, i could lose another $30k or more!" Sooo the car market is back to normal? On a 125k luxury car, you lose 30% as soon as you put the first mile on, off the lot...
Yes, but current low mileage models usually drop a certain amount but retain their value, at least for a few years. It's when they need a repair which is worth 25% of a new car they are practically worthless.
That’s a myth, the value does drop but not 30%. If that’s true you’d be able to find a super low mileage current model/year vehicle for 30% less of new msrp. It’s not going to happen. I know this because I tried looking for a super low mileage BMX X5 thinking it’d save me a ton of cash, wrong, ended up just buying new.
This is a $100k truck that is marketed to be tough as nails and go everywhere, with hard plastic "mud flaps" that you have to take off before going offroad...

Well if you have the money to burn it's okay but sure there is risk with any expensive purchase that is more about novelty then function and it's CEO is a known pump and dump grifting con man. Aside, I would not call anyone with 100 grand+ to spend on that thing as an average consumer. Granted yes, waiting a few years is wise, by then the novelty has worn off. When most people who initially buy it are willfully overpaying for the novelty. Think about it.
The saddest part is tesla effectively taught people this with the model 3. The earliest adopters had more problems and had parts that got redesigned and improved by the next year. You cannot really feel sorry for someone who jumped into cybertrucks knowing it had a lot of brand new engineering that hasn't been in other teslas before while happily signing a contract not to sell it for the first year. No one who took delivery can claim they did not know what they were getting into. They always had the option not to take delivery and wait for other people to be the early adopters. Now that tesla is slowing down new charger installations because of musk's ego, buying a less efficient tesla is not worth it. I am holding off buying until musk is gone from the company, I am just sitting on the cash waiting and will drive my volt until the wheels fall off. (GM is not a spring chicken either, but they did just replace the defective battery controller, egr valve, and shifter switch under warranty last year so it should be good for another 50k miles at least). I kind of hope ford clones tesla as much as they can with their lfp "mustang" and ends up having dealers with service centers that can do all maintenance on site like a normal car. VW pretty much failed and backed off EVs and GM was never serious about EVs. Toyota refuses to make a good EV and is too obsessed with hydrogen which has zero chance of ever working due to no one being willing to fund billions of dollars for hydrogen fueling stations. Hydrogen is currently made from natural gas, so it will never be cheap.
The reason the electric cars are depreciating is because folks are now learning about what happens when the battery warranty expires on these. You are stuck with a very expensive paper weight. How do I know? I was a former electric car owner who had one battery cell die post-warranty and the only thing the dealership would do is charge me to replace the whole battery pack for more than what the car was worth (they would not replace the single damaged cell but would only do the entire pack). Until there are laws in place protecting consumers from this type of crap, I'm never owning an electric vehicle again.
They can easily catch on fire 🔥 as well which is hard to put out. The batteries are harmful to the environment - Can you imagine driving cross country in a electric car 😮
@@GeorgeStar Oh yes, I spent $1200 in independent shops that couldn't fix the problem. The most frustrating part is that that the independent shops would reset the system and the car would start and run fine, but as soon as I turned it off and tried turning it back on it would fail because it was programmed to fail if any of the cells were detected as damaged. Meaning the car could still function with all the other 4999 or whatever cells, but it was programmed to not function if it detected a problem with just one.
@@RichD2024 Crazy! This is exactly why I'm hesitating in buying an EV like the Bolt. Any money you save on gas can quickly disappear into the dealers pocket because everything is proprietary so you're married to the dealers with their exorbitant prices when something goes wrong.
7:15 I am an automotive suspension engineer and the reason why the upper control arm (UCA) of the Cybertruck appears to be weak is because there are very low forces acting on the upper ball joint given both (1) how tall the knuckle is and (2) how close the axle centerline is to the lower ball joint of the lower control arm (LCA). In contrast to your Van @ 7:55 you can see just how much shorter the knuckle is on the Van which means the upper ball joint is far closer to the offset distance from axle centerline to the lower ball joint which means the UCA on the Van is sharing a much greater force distribution than compared to the UCA on the Cybertruck. If anything we would expect the Cybertruck to have more strength designed into the LCA and/or LCA frame mount and likewise the van more strength designed into the UCA and/or UCA frame mount. Cheers Edit: As for the Ford Raptor UCA appearing so strong, I offer 3 points: (1) the Raptor knuckle isn’t as tall as the Cybertruck so the Raptor UCA sees a greater share of forces, (2) the Raptor uses a very wide IFS system designed for high speed desert driving (known in the aftermarket world as “Long Travel”), so I’d bet that the Raptor UCA is longer than the Cybertruck UCA which requires a stronger design, and (3) the aftermarket is flooded with over engineered Long Travel/Desert Race UCAs (such as ‘solid billet aluminum UCAs’ which is way more strength than needed) so Ford probably took this approach to appear “heavy duty” and robust like the aftermarket kits all the cool kids have = it’s stronger than necessary because “race truck”.

@@allistairneil8968 But the screen didn't _replace_ all of the controls before. Physical controls are really, really nice things for functions you need all the time in a car. You can operate them without even looking at them most of the time.
Last time I was at a Ford dealer, I saw a F150, all purtied up, for 85K. In a year, the dealer will offer you 45 for it, and in two years, 35. That is not Ford specific either. If you do a depreciation deep dive, dont limit it to one vehicle. And another thing. when did pick up trucks all become 4 doors?
Because people are buying full sized trucks and using them as cars. When I bought my truck (used) in 21 it was hard to find one that was not a 4 door model. Coincidentally that made mine cheaper because it was less desirable, having the fold out 1/2 door and small seats. If I wanted a standard cab that would have been impossible to find, you barely even see them on the road these days!
if there are defects in the vehicle (when compared to what was advertised) you should check if your state has lemon laws for new cars, and if so simply return it to the manufacture for a full refund.

Thick steel with sharp edges, god help any pedestrian who gets hit by one. That's why we'll never see them in Europe, where there are safety standards for this.
Plenry of people have commented on the threat it faces to other drivers and have made the same point about it not ever being allowed in Europe expressly for that reason.

@@thomaswilson2917 It's not sharp like a pair of scissors cutting paper... But get hit with one of these edges at 60+ mph and tell me it isn't sharp. Quit being silly trying to defend this.
But, if they would sue you, can't you argue that in fact they did not deliver on what they advertised and thus the deal that you would not sell the truck does not stand anymore because you basically did not get what you payed for? I am no lawyer I do not live in the USA but what I said just sounds reasonable with me. But again, I am no law man.
I’m not a lawyer either - and that argument may have some merit, but for anything disclosed before he took delivery, he had the option to not buy it - so they could have changed it in to a gas powered motorcycle instead of a truck, and if Hoovie bought it, he couldn’t later complain it wasn’t a truck. Now he could complain about the stuff that he was promised and never got. Tesla’s counter would likely be their offer to buy the truck back, which he refused. I think there’s still a chance the man who is firing staff that are actually needed would make good on his promise to sue people who sell in the first 12 months. All those flippers ultimately hurt the market. The ones that flipped for a profit hurt Tesla from selling direct to buyers for over msrp, but it’s now all the people dumping them used. 1 month old?! Now Tesla is competing with the used car market on a truck they just released - so they’ll need to discount the new ones in order to sell them, which drives down the prices of used ones, which in turn drives down prices of new ones. To a buyer, not much difference between brand new and 1 month old - though now looking at what people are doing with these trucks, there probably should be.

We can always pick a set of parameters to make a given truck look bad. That is why we have such a wide variety of pickups. What count is sales. To date sales have been limited by production and possibly the $20K Foundation series bump. Lets see what sales numbers look like in 2 years.

HOOVIE!!!!!!!!! I just canceled my CT order. Thank you. I think you made an excellent choice. I hope you are in the "NEVER A TESLA AGAIN" group. You missed the fun of Tesla service, tesla OTA updates that change the car whilst you sleep, and the ultimate ball kick - Elon lowering the price of the cybertruck to $39k because he had bad taco bell the night prior. Oh--and Elon deciding to turn on the interior camera to recording everything without your knowledge. Great video. Great decision. Great teacher.
I'll be frank - you broke three major rules of buying a car (or Cyber Truck, in this case): 1. Avoid the very first year of a new model, especially one from a company that has no track record of producing similar models; 2. Don't get caught up in the hype; and 3. Don't ignore the small problems, especially with a company that has a poor history of dealing with small problems. The moment you said Tesla stated they had to prioritize their upcoming models over delivering on the promises made for this Foundation Series CT, that should tell any CT owner all they need to know about what Tesla thinks about loyalty to their customers. I do hope you manage to get out from under this mess before it costs you too much. Good luck.
You should have watched the video... He sold it and either broke even, or made a couple grand he wasn't 100% sure but he didn't loose a dime. He also got all those views on TH-cam giving him some profit from his channel. He's a 'Car Influencer' so to keep those views and sponsorships coming in he needs to get a popular vehicle every now and again to really drag in the viewers.
100% You pay the price to have everyone breaking their neck for the attention. I paid the price to have HD years before everyone else and now who cares?
@@positrack99 He said that in the video, that was the primary reason he sold it now so he could get out. He made it a point to go over it several times, and says the truck's going to depreciate so much in the next 6 months it's scary.
The Tesla Cybertruck’s bizarre, clunky design is a major eyesore, looking more like a failed concept than a serious vehicle. Its oversized, unwieldy frame makes it a hassle to drive and park, while the sky-high price tag offers zero justification for its questionable performance and impracticality.
Most ridiculous looking vehicle I’ve ever seen. Why do the people who design electric vehicles make such an effort to make sure they look much different than other vehicles? My opinion is that the people buying them are the ones who absolutely must make sure everyone knows they drive one and they never say “my car” or truck , it’s always “my Tesla” . These are the same people who are virtue signalers and are vegans and make sure everyone knows it.
I appreciate when someone is man enough to call himself out when he made a mistake, and what he is doing to correct it. But it is wild to me, when it is widely known how poorly made, embarrassing quality issues, over priced, sub par customer service, inferior fit & finish, ever expanding cost cutting in the build, countless promises not delivered, scary depreciation etc. etc. that people still think it is a good idea to buy this thing. Insanity.

This is America...people have to have something ASAP or they will just die. Plus they have to be the first to flaunt it on Social media.
The new indicator for a company to have "succeeded" is whether or not it has started treating its customers like dogshit yet.

The batteries are harmful to the environment -
Can you imagine driving cross country in a electric car 😮
Nonsense
Have you tried an independent shop? I know there's on in the Boston area somewhere.
Cheers
Edit: As for the Ford Raptor UCA appearing so strong, I offer 3 points: (1) the Raptor knuckle isn’t as tall as the Cybertruck so the Raptor UCA sees a greater share of forces, (2) the Raptor uses a very wide IFS system designed for high speed desert driving (known in the aftermarket world as “Long Travel”), so I’d bet that the Raptor UCA is longer than the Cybertruck UCA which requires a stronger design, and (3) the aftermarket is flooded with over engineered Long Travel/Desert Race UCAs (such as ‘solid billet aluminum UCAs’ which is way more strength than needed) so Ford probably took this approach to appear “heavy duty” and robust like the aftermarket kits all the cool kids have = it’s stronger than necessary because “race truck”.

Because people are buying full sized trucks and using them as cars.

2. Don't get caught up in the hype; and
@@SamWesting, why shouldn’t he get what he deserves for delivering on his promises?
People that worked for their money, will never buy that POS.
#truth - just a gimmick for quick attention and lot's of views for people who bought them

Best summary 😀
People that "work" for their money will never be able to afford it 😂
Someone is going to take a hit for a $100K car that's worth $50K. The question is who.
maybe not $50K, $35K or less

It is the game of musical chairs in reverse. The winner gets stuck with massive losses.
I think who was the original owner of the Cadillac.
Insanity.
