      Hello, I’ve been suffering from anterior pelvic tilt for several months and I’m tired of it. It slows me down in Track & Field, it’s hard for me to sleep on my back which is my favorite sleeping position; I don’t have any back pain or hip flexor pain as sitting and lying on a harder surfaces helps a lot. My ATP causes me to walk straight up causing my ribs to flare.

    • @juliusjackson5162
      @juliusjackson5162 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Upright Health Since I’m very serious in Track & Field, I always strengthen my abs, glutes, hip flexors, and the rest of my lower body muscles. I’ve been even stretching my tight hip flexors; they fly in the air when I reverse my pelvic tilt because they’re so tight even after all of the strengthening and stretching. I’m not really sure what to do as no one takes me seriously and it’s extremely frustrating as an athlete as I can’t do my very best in the sport I love. Should I continue to contract my abs to reduce hip tightness or even fix my arched back? Could rib flare cause tightness cause tight hip flexors? No one really understands what I’m going through which makes it very hard since it’s just me; I really need help.

    I have had a left hip issue since 2018. Went to Dr and told I had arthritis in my hip. He said take Celebrex. I chose no. I did so many exercises to alleviate the issue. Still hobbled after sitting. I recently came across this video and did these simple exercises. I was at my wits end. Couldn’t even complete a walk without pain. I had made an appt with the doc again. By the time I got to my appt I thought I should cancel it. It was like a miracle. I had no issues with my hip. I went on a trip and even with lots of sitting on a plane I had no issue. For the first time in years I didn’t think about it. The doc said I had bone on bone arthritis which means hip replacement. They told me to keep doing what I’m doing and come back to see them when it’s an issue. Thank you so much for this video. Life changing! I plan to avoid drugs and surgery.

It's awesome that you and some other people i follow try to teach those important concepts for free so all people (like myself) who have been in pain can get the right answers to fix their pain. :) Thank you!

I have been sleeping in a recliner for 15 years because I could not lay on my side anymore in bed and I am a side sleeper. I am so excited to have discovered your channel and these exercises. I’ve been sleeping with a pillow between my knees for YEARS. But that’s just been alleviating the discomfort, you’re explaining how to actually fix it. Added bonus, I want to start preparing to compete in Masters track and field over the next 24 months and already know that I’ll need to work on hip strength, flexibility, and mobility so this seems like a good start :).

    Love your video Matt. You are so targeted on a massive problem that started for me on one side and now both hips hurt. I was diagnosed with a partially torn gluteus minimus following a snow ski accident. I think the weakness caused the crash. But that wasn’t it really as the other hip hurts now when I sleep on the ‘good’ side. I always worry about putting stress around the hip joint exercising so you have given me confidence. I have kept flexibility with yoga.
    Love the floppy hip description.
    I will get to work on this 😊

    I think it is so great that you recommend to start out slow and only do it twice a week and see how sore you are. I have had physical therapists have me do this 1 to 2 times a day and I ended up injuring my glute med because I fought through the soreness because they told me too. Have to have a good balance of excercises and rest💙

    Over the past 4 years or so I've become slowly less and less active (bad on my part) where I went from deadlifts over 400lbs to sitting and really being inconsistent with even basic banded workouts. Two days ago I felt like my hip socket was injured from something as I fell after standing up from waking up in the morning in pain. This was a perfect reminder to force myself to get back to being consistent with working out again since ain't getting younger and life stuff can wait. Health comes first. 👍

    In my journey, I have made a mistake by stretching my left hip. Mostly piriformis and gluteus medius. I torn the muscles slightly. Now I learned a hard lesson that I should never stretch muscles in their weakest state. Because they are dry and stiff. Only stretch muscles when their blood circulation is improved. This is done by strengthening them in the first stage. Do the stretching afterwards.
