    To load jars, I put the mixture in the pastry bag and then squeeze it into the jars. You can make fancy swirls and stuff. :) Love this!

    Those are such wonderful gifts! I was always afraid to give homemade gifts but I am going for it this year. I am gifting some basil salt I grew and made and some calendula salve that i also grew and made.

    Your friends and family are so lucky to have you in their lives, blessing them with all your homemade treats! I don’t have the energy this year to make things for people, but I’m sure these are great gifts. I just want to say, Rachel, you look so beautiful today, your makeup, hair, glasses and earrings, along with your pretty face, wow!

    I was waiting to make this until I ran out of my store bought exfoliator. I finally got to make this today. I don't have access to sand so I used coffee grounds as one commenter suggested. It's soo nice. I just used it to wash my face. I'll be using homemade from now on.

      This video talks about them a little bit. Fabric, with wax embedded into it, you can use to keep foods fresh (covered). And they're re-usable. th-cam.com/video/cVHdcw078To/w-d-xo.html

    Rachel you certainly have beautiful looking skin super healthy and I’m wondering if it’s hereditary or if you attribute it to your matcha facewash? Or perhaps something else? I’m so intrigued by all of this it reminds me of when I was a little girl and me and my friend would play in the bathroom and make our own “soaps” and shampoos by just mixing together the various ones that mom had on hand, the bottles that she only had small amounts left she would let us play with and fill our little doll soap and shampoo containers and we would have soooo much fun doing that! Thanks for bringing back such wonderful childhood memories! Isnt it wild how we have all these memories stored in the recesses of our mind and it only takes watching something or smelling or tasting something that can bring it all back to consciousness. Thank you! I don’t know if I would ever try making any of these DIY because I have such sensitive skin I don’t know how I would react to the essential oils? Also I don’t know where I would be able to buy quantities of honey that large and still have it be an affordable diy. I do have a good source of Alberta organic honey and I’m just wondering if you would reconsider a substitute ingredient for the honey? Also I would be afraid of drawing bees in to the house! Plus other creepy crawlers that may be attracted to the honey??

      I would say healthy skin is somewhat hereditary, but I do try my best to take care of it.

    My wife and I visit the beach once or twice a year, and I always spend time rubbing my body with sand. I told her to try it, and she never would.
    Last week she tried a sand scrub her sister had, and she came home and told me "now I get it"

    Could it be done with salt instead of sand?
    My showerdrain don't like the sand 🙈

    • @1870s
      @1870s  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Possibly, I wouldn't heat oil and would only be concerned that salt may dissolve over time

    • @natashak8281
      @natashak8281 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can do sugar / salt / coffee grounds, just use less oil, just enough oil to wet the grounds/salt/sugar

    • @ecassity1
      @ecassity1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, probably a bad idea to put sand down the drain lol. I know for sure if you have septic it’s a bad idea, would also assume it’s not good for city systems/your pipes.

    Im wondering what happens to the sand when it goes down the drain? wont it clog up filters and u-bends?
    Maybe I could use my old coffee grinds instead (IF they dissolve eventually?).LOL posted my comment before you addressed that question BAHAHAHAHA sorry :)
    I made the bath salts the other day after watching your video, they turned out so awesome that I made another batch but with Orange and Rose essential oils. OMG so proud to gift these :) xxxx

      @EgoBrain1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Coffee grounds can coagulate in your pipes. I stick to sugar or salt scrubs. They dissolve in the pipe. Less oil would be needed though.
