  • Benefits of tallow over regular lotion is that it's all natural, preservative free, absorbs easily and contains fat soluble vitamins A,D,K & E.
Tallow Body Butter mixed with Shea butter is heaven. I see everything I put on my body as good, my skin is consuming this goodness and nourishing my well being.

Okay, not enough people are talking about how great her skin looks. She could color her hair dark and pass for 25. Hell, 20. Tallow is so underrated for skin health, it's a shame.

If you use a plastic bag and pipe the butter into the container it will make your life easier. It probably wasn't the beeswax, but the shea butter; it can get gritty when heated. Now I don't bother melting it; I just cream it with the mixer and add a little liquid oil as needed until it is fluffy like mousse.

The nice thing about these type of products is that you can gently melt and add ingredients if you are not happy with the consistancy. Too hard, too soft, add more oil or more beeswax. Laura

Microwave heating will trigger lipids oxidation, leading to lipid polymerization and thermal oxidative decomposition. However, compared with conventional heating, microwave has a lower degree of lipid oxidation, because on the one hand, heating will accelerate oxidation, and on the other hand, microwave can enhance the antioxidant capacity of lipids and delay oxidation. Microwave-treated vegetable oils, in general, produce hydrogen peroxide and secondary oxidation products quickly. Because lipid secondary metabolites can harm the body, lipid oxidation should be prevented as much as possible during food processing. Furthermore, lipolysis, which might result in a rise in acid, is a significant alteration in lipid during microwave heating. Lipolysis, lipid polymerization, and heat oxidative breakdown will all have an impact on lipid composition and characteristics.

Great job, Rachel! The only thing I’m wondering, is about the tubes. It seems like it will solidify in there and not be a nice creamy consistency, and maybe hard to squeeze out. Wouldn’t it be better to whip it first and then put it in the tubes?

I'm not sure where the waste is, it will easily last 6 months on the shelf or longer if refrigerator. I'm feeding my skin, no chemicals and the cost is minimal per batch
