- The few survivors of a massive global disaster gather together in a futuristic megacity. Now it’s your job to protect them against otherworldly invaders-but you’re not alone as a member of a special police task force equipped with sentient armaments called Legions. In this brand-new action game from PlatinumGames, control the protagonist and a Legion simultaneously to chain stylish combos. Change Legions on the fly to vary your style and unleash a variety of abilities. The last remnants of humanity depend on you, and to save the world, you must investigate its dark side. Astral Chain launches on the Nintendo Switch on August 30th, 2019.

The visuals, the music, the gameplay.

Yes because TMNT Mutants in Manhattan and Legend of Korra were amazing games by them too

I'm hooked with this game because of the story and gameplay.
“First off, I should start by saying that we didn’t start working on Astral Chain thinking we’d make a cyberpunk game. We were actually trying to make a fantasy game where you would use magic.
What you see now is the result of talking a lot with Nintendo along through the development process, because we realized that there were lots of other games set in a fantasy setting. We wanted to make Astral Chain stand out among other games. And that’s what you see now.
While we were making it, actually, I was influenced by a lot of different anime that I liked. For example, Ghost in the Shell and Appleseed. And we used designs like that as a motif to build the setting that you see before you now.”

The basic concept does remind me of Chaos Legion. Like, the thing is even called a Legion..

In my own subjective opinion, if you weren't satisfied with this Direct, then there really is no satisfying you.

Astral chain is the most promising Switch exclusive for this year imo.

I mean, there was good stuff in the direct, but for me personally, it didn’t have much I was interested in. Luigi’s Mansion 3 and Animal Crossing are neat, but I’m not a huge fan of either series, and I’m excited for Dragon Quest and Banjo Kazooie fans, but neither of those series have ever really caught my attention either. Pretty much Astral Chain and the new Fire Emblem trailer were the only things that I was really excited about. Daemon X Machina looks kind of cool too, though again, nothing I’m truly excited about. I was kind of hoping for maybe new Xenoblade content, like an early teaser for the next game, or a port of X for Switch or something, that or something, _anything_ Metroid related, like a port of the Trilogy, another remake like Samus Returns, or even just another teaser for Prime 4, heck, I’d even be happy with just seeing what Samus’s model would look like. Even something from Atlus like an update on SMT V or even a closer look at Persona 5 Scramble if nothing else. For me there just wasn’t much to be excited about, though I’m happy a lot of other people are getting what they wanted.

In all seriousness, though, this looks amazing and I need it badly.
I still remember seeing this trailer at E3. It was my first time seeing this game, and I was immediately hooked. I dedicated the next few months to pursuing the latest news and trailers pertaining to Astral Chain. Fast forward to Christmas 2019, and I finally got the game, and I was able to beat it in under a week, a week I literally spent depriving myself of sleep just to play more of the game! I absolutely love this game! The gameplay, the music, the art direction, the story, it's all so good! A definite recommendation to anyone who's remotely interested in this game and an amazing Switch exclusive title!
Judging from the music from both trailers, I'm eagerly wanting to hear more from this game OST. It's so good.

Platinum has definitely stepped their game up from the days of Anarchy Reigns.

I wish I could agree, but Legend of Korra has made me realize that isn't always the case.
That said, this game does look worth the wait to play!
@@TheElite711 LoK and the TMNT game were done by the lesser half of Platinum while the better half did Transformers. Transformers was freaking great while the other two were pretty bad.

I'm already obsessed with this game. It was something I was actually looking forward to seeing appear in this direct and I'm not disappointed. The action, the music. Everything about about this has gotten me so hyped to play this game one day!!!!

@@kc7812 Cyberpunk hack-n-slash by Platinum with cyber doggos. The Beast Legions even play very similar to Blade Wolf. And yes, there are also Sword Legions available.
