- The few survivors of a massive global disaster gather together in a futuristic megacity. It is not one more generic shooter, one more souls like game or a remake of an old game.
It is a new IP and an amazing game on all regards, amazing presentation, story, and above all amazing gameplay.
So for me yes it is totally GOTY. FE 3 Houses and Gears 5 are pretty close though.
Ruric Fair enough, I just have a couple issues with the game personally. I find the combat a bit too easy, at lest on PT strandard (haven't played on hard yet) and it bothers me that the main character hasn't any personality.
@@DCkogsch I don't mind the silent protagonist at all, many games do it for obvious reasons.
Also I find the game to be challenging and not punishing, this is also something that I like.

Here is a short list of my favorite switch games so far.
Borw, Astral Chain, FE 3 houses, Mario Odyssey, Smash, Mario Maker 2, Splat2n, Mario Kart 8, Mario + Rabbits...
2019 is really strong for the Switch.
Edit: I believe that Astral Chain is the best game of 2019 in general. Gears 5 is pretty close though and I don't expect much from death stranding, an interesting story but a very mediocre game. We will see I might be wrong.
Interesting you think that Death Stranding looks mediocre, but you're highly anticipating Gear 5 as the potential runner up to the best of the year. ONe owuld think that's the other way around, lol. Gears fell off for me after 3, I only ever played 4 because my cousin had a copy
@@jase276 I know that the popular opinion is to be critical about anything microsoft does and accept anything sony does, but Gears 5 is a masterpiece and 4 was a really solid game also, sure it didn't reinvent the wheel but uncharted 4 a d gow didn't either to be fair.
And yes from what I have seen so far Death Stranding looks like a very mediocre game. Amazing presentation and very interesting story though.
As I said I can be wrong, we will see.

Anyone else, not sure about this game.
A few things:
-this is an anime-esque art style type of game. To the way the characters act, move, and talk. Not a weeb? This ain't it Cheif.
-In case this wasnt apparent enough, this is a story game. An RPG. Built in the same sense that you are the lone, quiet type, protagonist, and are equipped to help protect humanity. You work on the police force. If that triggers you, or you dont like long winded games. This ain't for you.
-If you like to 100% games, better sit down and prepare to grind at least a little bit. Unless you're a God gamer, and can do perfect runs with little to no practice, this game has a bunch of replayability value, since there is a grading system for how well you do on your missions, AND as an officer. It incentivizes you to go back and do better. I quite like the way they did it too.
You have a ranking system for your job as well. If you do your job well, you get more points which helps promote you faster. Everything feels like it rewards you accordingly. Minus a few very anger inducing side quests. *(I'm looking at you, Ice Cream Girl👺)*
Anyways. My two cents is that I enjoy thos game quite a lot. And the soundtrack is to *DIE FOR*
Seriously, their music is so well done, and put together. It's super good at setting tones correctly. I highly reccomend buying the soundtrack if at all possible.
Tldr. Buy the game
I DID THE ICE CREAM GIRL QUEST AND A MAN BLOODY RAN INTO ME LIKE OY MATE WATCH WHERE YAH GOING
Don't forget: Take the time to pause the game and see if there are any sidequests to do. I made the mistake of not doing that and ended up missing out on a few good sidequests.

This is a must-have. If it wasn't due to I have to work, I would've finished it already. But I can tell, those 22 hours I've played worth it.
