Hopefully, before the end of the year, there will be an announcement for Metroid Prime 2 & 3 HD for Switch. It'd be nice to have the whole series on one console.
Seriously, this is the one thing I’m really waiting for. Echoes is my favorite Prime game. They really need to give this the Pikmin 4 treatment and release the entire series on new hardware. With how good the Prime 1 remaster did, even an upscaled release of the other two would be a no-brainer.
Yea when it said 2025, I was really hoping they would say something about 2&3 remasters coming before. Still hoping it might come but not holding my breath anymore for them.
@@danielludwig647 I was thinking earlier that actually, it might be happening. It's not like the console was said to be released March 25th. Perhaps there will be enough time and it (Switch 2) will release late 2025. There could be another Direct in February with a few more remakes and it'd be a very good way to end the console.
I'm really hoping for that. I'm currently playing Prime 1 remaster. First time playing the game. I've played most of Prime 3 back on the Wii. I've never played Prime 2. I like Metroid. And I'd love to finally play all the Prime games. With this announcement, I REALLY want the other 2 on Switch before it launches so I can play them
hopefully just more consistent games in the metroid franchise will help it get the spotlight it deserves, because before dread, it had been close to a decade before the next 2d metroid in the franchise came out, and that was samus returns, like, if we were to look at the distance between metroid 4 and 5, it was 18 years between metroid 4 and 5, so I really think consistency is key with bringing the metroid franchise into spotlight, and it looks like they're doing that, within 4 years we'll have dread and prime 4, that's a good start, hopefully it keeps up

@@tkayubeI think those are Mocktroids, NOT Metroids. You can tell by the shape being more spherical than a normal Metroid. Super Metroid introduced the concept, they’re failed Metroid clones.

that soundtrack at the ending for the environment reveal is absolutely beautiful, I wanna hear the whole thing so badly. I blasted it on my studio monitors to get the full spacial & texture affects, and my god it's mixed so well
Bruh lol, or it looks like Tallon from the original metroid prime. Throwing out that it looks like pandora from avatar is such an unnecessary stretch just to be a boring prune that wants be unimpressed. Yeah I can also say it looks like a lot of different forest type areas in different games/films, I'm just saying that the environment plus the music is gives me metroid prime vibes. But hey if it gives you pandora from avatar vibes instead then okay lol.
I can't believe they brought back the original composer and used the OG synth-choir 😭😭😭 last 5 seconds of a trailer has given me hope like never before
My best friends passed before this moment came. We are life long Metroid fans and our favorite theme from prime was the Phendrana Drifts theme. The music at the end hit me with so many feels, it’s definitely a prime game with that score we were just blessed with.
So we finally got it! Quick analysis: Sylux as the enemy (duh..). What's more interesting is that we already see some of the layout of the game: - Missile on the DPad indicates we get different kind of weapons/beams/missiles - The area at the end looks like the starting area. We see Samus emerge from what looks like an impact creater, so she mmost likely loses to Sylux in the intro and gets thrown onto this palnet - which means very fitting exploration (unlike 3) - That being said we can see what is most likely an energy tank in the warzone, so we probably have different planets to explore again - Free aim unlike the first 2 games - The first room is really big without a door, while we see a door in the warzone. This could mean we still get doors (which I don't mind) but the rooms could be more free in general due to better loading capacity - We start with Varia suit and probably lose all other equipement - It looks amazing
Did a zoom in on the planet I think they arnt doing what they did in prime one with the ugly suit which I love she still has that great looking suit (definitely not the varia suit) but can’t wait to see the different suits with the switch 2
When she jumps from the Gunship it looks like she is either using space jump or screw attack. Probably the former but imagine you starting with screw attack then losing it. Give players a taste of real power

I reckon that might be the title theme. Especially with the male choirs I can just imagine it. I mean it could also be a recurring theme in that particular area they showed us but nonetheless it's nothing short of Metroid Prime style music.

I actually do like it. Slow me down a bit (sorry speedrunners, I know.) I just feel it does add legitimately to the artistic experience a little bit. Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that in the start you are forced a little more to slow down and observe the world around you. Prime 1-3 did too. Metroid Prime should keep it, or make instant scans some sort of upgrade if they have to do it.
So maybe it's just me, but the Metroids behind Sylux resemble that of the Mochtroids from Meridia in Super Metroid with the single "core" in the center instead of the normal triple "cored" Metroids present in every other game. Pretty cool how they continue continuity details like that instead of forgetting, I guess Retro really was born to do this.

More than 1 million views in a day, I hope Metroid gets the attention it deserves. Right after Zelda the most viewed trailer of the direct, on par with Mario & Luigi. That's huge!
I'm replaying the prime games right now in anticipation- haven't played them since I was a kid. The pace, atmosphere, interaction with the world, for games that came out in the early/mid 00s, very impressive. The first hour or so of Prime 2 still gives me the creeps, all these years later. Seeing this trailer reminds me of those feelings, makes me hopeful for this iteration. It was the right call, I think, to restart under Retro. They wrote the book on Prime, and it looks like they kept their notes.
my expectations are stratospheric, for good reason. Metroid Prime 1 & 2 regularly hit "Top X Games of all time" lists. That and Dread was fun but a big departure from 2D metroid formula. This game really needs to be a faithful Prime title.
The best part is that the guitar riff doesn't play for just any villain; it is none other than Sylux, who was teased to be this game's antagonist 17 years ago.

@@TBL-AMELIA we've seen like what, 30 seconds of gameplay and you're already gonna write it off?
hopefully just more consistent games in the metroid franchise will help it get the spotlight it deserves, because before dread, it had been close to a decade before the next 2d metroid in the franchise came out, and that was samus returns, like, if we were to look at the distance between metroid 4 and 5, it was 18 years between metroid 4 and 5, so I really think consistency is key with bringing the metroid franchise into spotlight, and it looks like they're doing that, within 4 years we'll have dread and prime 4, that's a good start, hopefully it keeps up

The music at the end hit me with so many feels, it’s definitely a prime game with that score we were just blessed with.
So we finally got it!
Quick analysis: Sylux as the enemy (duh..).
What's more interesting is that we already see some of the layout of the game:
- Missile on the DPad indicates we get different kind of weapons/beams/missiles
- The area at the end looks like the starting area. We see Samus emerge from what looks like an impact creater, so she mmost likely loses to Sylux in the intro and gets thrown onto this palnet - which means very fitting exploration (unlike 3)
- That being said we can see what is most likely an energy tank in the warzone, so we probably have different planets to explore again
- Free aim unlike the first 2 games
- The first room is really big without a door, while we see a door in the warzone. This could mean we still get doors (which I don't mind) but the rooms could be more free in general due to better loading capacity
- We start with Varia suit and probably lose all other equipement
- It looks amazing
If the game plays anything like 1's remake, this is going to be a blast!
Also when we see Samus walk in the grassy planet it looks like there is some kind of portal behind her that she just walked through.
Did a zoom in on the planet I think they arnt doing what they did in prime one with the ugly suit which I love she still has that great looking suit (definitely not the varia suit) but can’t wait to see the different suits with the switch 2
Judging from the last third of the trailer it's safe to assume Sylux is either affiliated with the space pirates or at least hired by them.
When she jumps from the Gunship it looks like she is either using space jump or screw attack. Probably the former but imagine you starting with screw attack then losing it. Give players a taste of real power
That guitar solo while squaring each other up! We are so back!
